Li Aili stepped out of the portal, a flower fairy perched on her shoulder, and headed straight for the West Forest, lifting her skirt.
"Ah! My luggage!" the flower fairy cried out in surprise.
Li Aili slapped her forehead. No wonder her brother-in-law had that expression earlier, like someone had gouged out his eyes.
But she didn't have time right now. "I have something to take care of. You go to the city and wait for me!"
The flower fairy flew in mid-air, staring wide-eyed, and watched as Li Aili dashed off into the forest west of the castle.
When Li Aili arrived at the entrance to the West Forest, she indeed saw Peipei.
The little tree spirit rode on the Sphinx's head, lecturing the Cyclops who had drunk the shrinking potion:
"From now on, I will be your leader."
"Hey, what kind of look is that? You're not happy with that?"
My boss is the Sphinx. Do you think it's beneath you to have me as your subordinate?
You're just unqualified underlings dismissed by the dragon!
Li Aili: "..."
It seems that Bogdard complained a while ago that the Cyclops was too stupid.
He was somewhat disgusted and sent them away.
She didn't think much of it at the time, but seeing it today, she realized that the one-eyed giants had fallen on such a miserable state.
The Sphinx lay on the ground licking its paws, smelling an alluring 'fragrance of knowledge'. Its 'cat eyes' widened, and its barbed tongue licked its pink nose.
"Hello, my clever contractor."
Are you here to impart new knowledge to me again?
Li Aili: "..."
She reasonably suspected that the sphinx had clung to her so persistently in the first place because it wanted knowledge of alchemy.
"Sorry, I didn't come to see you."
Li Aili turned to Peipei and said, "Peipei, I need your help!"
Pepe's eyes lit up at the mention of this, and she jumped down from the Sphinx's head in a flash, running to Li Aili and saying:
"Sister Ellie, I'm at your beck and call anytime!"
Li Aili squatted down, thinking that she needed to conduct an experiment first.
So she took out two alchemical potions from her spatial ring.
Li Aili handed an invisibility potion to Peipei.
"This is an invisibility potion. After you drink this, could you secretly give the other potion to Sphinx without him noticing?"
Peipei patted her chest and assured her, "Leave it to me!"
Then, he picked up the 'invisibility potion' and gulped it down.
After drinking the potion, Peipei was still smacking her lips when her figure began to fade away.
Soon, he vanished without a trace in front of Li Aili.
The Sphinx overheard their conversation and flicked its tail with interest. "I am the great Sphinx, how could a mere tree spirit cub possibly..."
The other 'flask' that was on the ground mysteriously disappeared.
Sphinx: "..."
Look closely, and you'll see that the Sphinx's fur is standing on end.
He sat up, his tail swishing faster and faster, and raised a paw to lick it.
But its restless, darting eyes revealed the Sphinx's unease.
"To be honest, I still don't know what kind of tree spirit this interesting little tree spirit is."
Li Aili thought for a moment, "His aunt is an almond, could he also be an almond?"
Sphinx: "..."
The Sphinx cannot bear to look upon those who lack knowledge.
When I encounter something like this, I can't help but pour out all the knowledge I have.
"Don't even mention her aunt, even if his parents are almonds, he might not be almonds."
"The offspring of tree spirits do not necessarily inherit from their parents, but may inherit from a certain ancestor."
In layman's terms, it means that they can randomly revert to their ancestral traits.
Li Aili was stunned. So, Peipei does have something special about her.
Otherwise, why would so many powerful tree spirits become 'gradually bald'?
Just then, the air distorted, and the tall, handsome, black-haired duke stepped out.
Li Ai Li wouldn't be as calm as she is now if the Duke had come out halfway through the morning.
The Duke, who was walking briskly toward Ellie, paused. "My dear, something has happened at the castle."
Li Aili: "??"
The Duke strode forward and grabbed her wrist. "There's no time to explain. Come back with me and see for yourself."
After saying that, Li Aili was taken into the spatial portal.
As soon as I took a step, all I could hear was Alice's 'roar'.
"You're so annoying!!"
"I already told you I don't want to see you!"
Why did you follow me here??
Fisheranki, the Elvenking of Tankar, paid no heed to the stares of those around him.
He just patiently approached Alice again and again.
"Honey, give me a time, when will I come to pick you up?"
Alice was exasperated by him and said, "Next week, I'll go back next week!"
Satisfied Fisher smiled slightly, then noticed the owners of the place, his 'brother-in-law' and sister.
"Sister, could you please call Leongor here for me?"
Leongor had just returned to his alchemy room and was explaining the greatness of alchemy to Denton.
Denton was getting sleepy, and it seemed like he was about to be successfully hypnotized.
As a result, the castle's old butler came, and he was summoned back to the castle.
"Huh? Cousin?" Leongor walked into the study in a daze and saw Fisherenaki sitting on the sofa, elegantly drinking black tea.
Leongor looked completely bewildered: "I already delivered the letter for you, why did you have to come all the way here yourself?"
Fishernaki put down his teacup and walked up to Leongor. "Leongor, I've run into a problem lately, and I suddenly thought of you."
“Come on, come back to Tankar with me for a week.”
