Li Aili stiffened and slowly turned around.
A group of Holy Knights, wielding sharp swords, pointed their gleaming blades directly at her throat.
Upon seeing the holy emblem of light on the knights' pristine white armor, Li Aili almost instinctively blurted out:
"By the God of Light!"
The beautiful, golden-haired wood elf before them seemed so harmless that the paladins of light instinctively replied, "By the light!"
Wang Di: "..."
His ears turned red, but in the end he couldn't bring himself to utter the words of betrayal against the Elf God.
Then the knights realized what was happening and looked at Li Aili suspiciously, asking:
"Do wood elves also believe in the god of light?"
Li Aili answered without hesitation, "Yes."
Wang Di: "No."
Knights: "..."
Li Aili: "I mean, I believe in the God of Light, and my friend believes in the God of Nature."
The leading paladin drew closer with his longsword, saying, "Truth and lies will be judged by the agents of light."
Li Aili was escorted by the four Holy Knights of Light all the way to the temporary camp that the Holy Court had set up in the Giant Spirit Plains.
The largest tent was located in the center of the camp, about three times the size of a regular tent.
The curtain of this military tent was pulled back, revealing a layer of white gauze hanging inside.
Only a tall figure could be vaguely made out inside.
A paladin stepped forward and pounded his chest with his fist, saying, "Your Excellency."
"What is it?" A male voice came from inside the tent, which sounded somewhat familiar to Li Aili.
"Two suspicious wood elves have been captured."
"Bring him in," said the person inside the tent.
The paladin stepped forward first, lifted the white veil, and gestured for Li Aili to go inside.
Only then did Li Aili see the person inside the tent clearly.
It's you! The aloof and handsome guy we've seen in the Pomegranate Territory!
Isn't this person's teacher the saint who 'stumbled'?
At the time, she felt sorry for him, thinking that this handsome guy would most likely be implicated by the teacher.
Unexpectedly, after only a few days, this person was promoted instead of demoted, rising from bishop to archbishop.
Joshua wore an archbishop's crown and a golden sun emblem around his neck, which complemented his light gold eyes perfectly.
The handsome archbishop looked gently at Ellie and Leongor.
Fortunately, this handsome guy didn't follow his teacher's example and shower people with holy light upon meeting them.
He asked gently, in a casual tone, as if chatting with a friend, "Which elven tribe do you two come from?"
The true elf Leongor blurted out, "I am Leongor from Golin, Leongor Golin."
Fake Elf Li Aili: "Tankar."
Joshua glanced at Li Aili again.
Li Aili felt a sense of foreboding when she received that extra glance.
Just then, the water on the stove boiled, and the steam made the kettle lid clang loudly.
The paladin was willing to "serve" the archbishop, but Joshua stopped him by raising his hand.
The archbishop walked to the fireplace, wrapped the handle of the kettle with a towel placed to the side, and filled the three empty teacups on the table with hot water.
He pushed two of the teacups toward Li Aili and Wang Di.
"Try it, this is black tea grown in Xipo. I personally think it has a different flavor than the famous Xilin black tea."
Li Aili glanced at the top of Archbishop Joshua's head; it was clean and empty.
This made her heart sink.
Or perhaps Joshua has been placed on the God of Light's 'special attention' list.
Or perhaps Bishop Joshua brought some special magical artifacts with him.
Either way, it would be somewhat detrimental to the current situation.
Just as Li Aili's mind was racing, trying to come up with a solution, Leongor bluntly stated:
"We received an interesting research topic regarding how to dissolve the magical metal within the Fire Giant's body."
"Now that the research has made a breakthrough, we couldn't wait to come here."
“I didn’t expect this…” He hesitated and glanced at the Holy Knight of Light inside the tent.
"I didn't expect things to be a bit troublesome here?"
The Holy Knight looked at him with a bewildered expression. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
"Can the magical metal within the fire giant's body melt away?"
Leongor said enthusiastically, "Don't worry, our medicine will absolutely not harm their lives."
Joshua took a sip of his hot black tea. "Chris."
“Yes, Your Excellency,” the paladin replied.
Joshua smiled and said, "Call a judge over."
Li Aili: "..."
The paladin immediately strode out of the camp and soon returned with a judge who wore a pointed hat and held the scales of judgment.
Joshua asked Leongor with a smile, "Mr. Leongor, could you repeat what you just said to this judge?"
At this moment, Li Aili discovered the advantages of having a dimwitted sprite.
The scales of judgment crashed down toward the angels.
Joshua raised his golden eyebrows slightly.
The paladin's eyes widened, too shocked to utter a single word.
Li Aili's heart felt like it was 'residing' on a crazy roller coaster.
It seemed that the younger brother had accidentally passed the test.
Just as Li Aili breathed a sigh of relief, the archbishop asked gently, "Oh? Who gave you this commission?"
The archbishop looked at Li Aili, "This time, let this 'mysterious lady' from Tankar answer."
Leongor shrugged; he didn't know either.
Fortunately, Li Aili has extensive 'combat experience' in dealing with judges.
"A fire giant."
The scales suddenly pointed towards the angel.
