Chapter 156 Returning to Nature

City hall officials worked through the night to produce colorful flags adorned with harp symbols.

As dawn approached, everyone, with dark circles under their eyes, hung colorful flags all over the main road of Emerald City.

From Emerald Avenue, the main road into the city, to the bustling First Commercial Street, the streetlights are adorned with colorful flags.

It added a festive touch to the entire Emerald City.

Li Aili checked the time; it was 4:30 a.m.

"Alright, let's take a break now, we have to welcome the visiting group of bards at 10 o'clock."

Everyone simply took a nap in the city hall office.

At 9 o'clock, the 'roar' of the arcane alarm clock woke the officials from their dreams.

Everyone rushed to the washroom to wash up.

Ten minutes later, most of the male officers 'finished fighting'.

With bread in their mouths, they began checking their schedule for the day, just in case.

A newly appointed official named 'Victor', holding a schedule, said, 'Wait a minute, I see that the Druid Association applied for a city-wide performance today?'

"Should we ask them to change the time to the afternoon?"

His superior was checking the delegation's afternoon itinerary.

I was worried that the afternoon's itinerary wouldn't be able to better showcase the charm of Emerald City.

Upon hearing this, he slammed his fist on the table, "No! Tell them absolutely not to change their itinerary!"

...

When Li Aili was woken up by the arcane alarm clock, she almost thought the world was ending.

How can a small alarm clock, the size of a palm, make a sound like the world is exploding?

Users don't need to worry about not being able to wake up and being able to turn off the alarm and continue sleeping.

Because, after that explosive sound, anyone who isn't dead will instantly regain consciousness.

Li Aili picked up the alarm clock and looked at the arcane mage's promise on the back: "We promise that there is no creature that an arcane alarm clock cannot wake."

Li Aili: "..."

I checked the time in the office; it was 9:45.

"Your Highness, the band at the city gate is ready," Joanna reminded him.

Li Aili took out a demon summoning scroll. Using the familiar rat blood, she summoned a demon and then instructed, "Please escort us to the city gate. Thank you."

The devil has become accustomed to customers making such requests.

He skillfully activated the teleportation array and transported Li Aili and Joanna there.

At the gate of Emerald City, Li Aili stood in the main position of welcoming guests and confirmed the procedures with the officials on site once again.

"First, there was music to welcome us, then flowers were presented, followed by handshakes and greetings before we walked together through the gates of Emerald City," said Wendy.

Li Aili nodded.

At exactly 10:00, a red light flashed, and a group of people walked out from the devil's summoning circle.

They were either human or elf... but without exception, they all wore gray cloaks and carried a small harp.

"Arrived on time." The leader was a middle-aged man with a neatly groomed red beard.

"I presume you are Duchess Elizabeth Li, the mistress of Emerald City."

“I am the vice president of the Bards’ Association, ‘Redbeard’.”

Because of their activities, bards usually conceal their true identities and travel the world using titles or nicknames.

To avoid retaliation from enemies against family members.

Li Aili nodded and extended her hand, saying, "Li Aili, it's a pleasure to meet you."

The two shook hands briefly, and Li Aili said, "Then, please follow me."

As planned, she led the members of the bards' association through the city gate guarded by soldiers and through the magnificent and towering city walls.

"Welcome to Emerald..." Before Li Aili could finish speaking, a commotion arose from not far away.

Then they saw a bear, a cow, a horse, a deer... walking towards them.

There were also a large group of happy citizens watching on both sides of these animals.

Some teenagers even went up to them and carefully touched the cute, fluffy things.

In short, the scene was spectacular.

Li Aili: "..."

She remembered that Emerald City didn't have a zoo yet, did it?

After a slight pause, Joanna whispered a reminder, "It's an event organized by the Druids..."

Li Aili's lips twitched slightly, then she quickly explained to the bards around her, "This is also a newly joined association in Emerald City, as you probably already guessed."

'Redbeard' nodded with a strange expression. 'Emerald City indeed...'

He racked his brains and came up with a word: "...it is a very inclusive city."

Li Aili smiled politely and said, "You're right, that's exactly what we're doing."

Just as she uttered the last word, the druids who had walked to the city gate square all transformed in unison.

Without any warning to the citizens of Emerald City, these druids suddenly transformed into long-legged, naked elves.

The square fell silent for a moment, then a cacophony of screams erupted.

And there were a few bastards whistling inappropriately at these elves!

Li Aili: "..." She was shocked, her mind went blank.

City hall officials were collectively petrified.

The citizens who were originally following the furry child... the adults screamed and covered the child's eyes.

Even the children, who knew nothing, screamed along with the adults, laughing as they screamed.

The leading druid was a tall male elf who faced everyone in the square with 'openness'.

Then, the great druid proclaimed:

"Love nature, return to nature!"

"Reject all handicrafts!"
