The carriage stopped at the back gate of the temple.
Li Aili calmly took out a water pouch that had been filled with the 'Disappearance Potion' beforehand.
She unplugged the water sac, pretended to be nervous, tilted her head back, and gulped down the invisibility potion inside.
Vince Leigh didn't suspect anything.
Some drow never even get to enter the Spider Temple in their entire lives. They spend their whole lives without ever gaining the Queen's favor.
And today, thanks to his kind charity, these merchants of humble origins are able to enter Her Majesty the Queen's temple.
Ha, it would be strange if they weren't going crazy with unhappiness.
Soon, another businesswoman nervously gulped down a bag of water.
Young Master Craven gave an undisguised sarcastic smile, looked away, and stepped out of the carriage.
After getting off the bus, it was as if his second personality had suddenly awakened.
He transformed from a ruthless and greedy nobleman into a devout believer.
“Your Majesty, I have come to seek your guidance.” With that, he knelt before the enormous spider statue.
He humbly lowered his head.
The back door of the temple opened, and a priestly attendant dressed entirely in a black robe stepped out.
Upon seeing the devout young master Winsley, the priestess stepped forward and drew a spider emblem on his forehead.
Li Ai Li imitated young master Craven, "devoutly" praying to the statue.
"May Her Majesty the Queen protect you, Sofina."
While praying fervently, the young Winsley quickly stuffed a bag of gold coins into Sofina's hands.
Sofina quickly stuffed the heavy bag of gold coins into her robe.
Facing one of the two priests' lovers, Sofina finally managed a smile.
“Young Master Winsley, your faith remains as devout as ever.”
Li Aili: "..." She seriously suspected that judging whether a drow elf was devout or not was linked to the weight of the gold coins.
The priestly attendants led the people toward the temple with a reserved demeanor.
Young Master Vince Leigh followed attentively, and he had no intention of letting the gold coins he had just given away go to waste.
"How is Lady Guli today?"
His eager demeanor was just like that of the emperor's favorite concubine.
The priestess kept her eyes straight ahead, saying, "Lady Guli is as devout as ever, dedicating herself to Her Majesty the Queen."
Vince Leigh: "..."
He forced a smile, then skillfully pulled out a heavy money pouch and quickly stuffed it into the hands of the priest's attendant.
The long sleeves of the priests were like two bottomless pits, swallowing up another bag of heavy gold coins.
"Lady Guli is not in a good mood today."
"I don't know what that Charles said to the master yesterday, but the master executed a male servant today."
The smile on Vince Leigh's face froze.
He paused in his steps.
The priest attendant didn't even turn his head. "Of course, I believe you wouldn't be foolish enough to cancel a meeting with Lady Guli when she's in a bad mood, would you?"
Vince Leigh, who was just about to say, "How about we reschedule?", was speechless.
A group of temple guards dressed in black armor passed by them.
Winsley and his priestly attendants kept their mouths shut in perfect unison.
Until the guards disappeared.
"Damn it! Why isn't it time for the spider sacrifice yet! That bastard Charles should become a bastard spider in the forest outside!!" He spat out venomous spittle.
The priests continued their steps, saying, "Perhaps that day will never come."
Young Master Vince's eyes widened. "What did you say?"
The priest's attendant glanced at him, then kept a respectful "professional" silence.
Vince Leigh pulled out yet another bag of gold coins.
With each step the priestly attendant took after accepting the gold coins, a rustling sound of wealth echoed from his sleeves.
“Yesterday, young master Chalmon told Lady Guli that the high priest was prepared to pardon his sins.”
"The surface is amazing, isn't it, young master Vince? It can turn that dull young master Charles into a treasure that all the high priests are fighting over."
Vince Leigh: "..."
His face looked grim.
Li Aili couldn't help but glance at Wendy Shani beside her.
With a questioning look in his eyes: Are you sure this is Chalmon?
It sounds like Assange...
Wendy Shani was also completely bewildered and sensed that something was amiss.
Charles doesn't speak, but when he does, he can kill everyone equally.
Was it cherished by the worshippers?
Does the Spider Queen choose her sacrifices based on their taste in strong-smelling foods?
But soon, Wendy Shane's focus shifted away from this issue.
She winked at Li Aili and pointed to the surrounding buildings.
It seems to be saying: Did you notice? We've been going in circles; haven't we been exposed?!
Li Aili calmly waved her hand and gave the priestly attendant who was leading the way a deep look.
The other party had just received a bag full of gold coins from young master Vince Leigh.
No, it wasn't discovered.
The other party was just playing a fun game of "PUAing Young Master Vince Leigh, Exploding Gold Coins".
Finally, just as young Master Vinceley began writing IOUs, the priest's attendant, with a "kind heart," led them before the second priest.
The temple was extremely luxurious.
The two priests sat behind a violet-colored gauze curtain.
Li Aili could only see a blurry figure.
Young Master Winsley bypassed the gauze curtain and knelt on one knee before the Second Priest, like a coquettish Persian cat.
Behind the gauze curtain, the priestess spoke softly and sweetly to her affectionate "little kitten," completely forgetting that there were two "third wheels" standing there with His Highness.
