Chapter 207 The God-Making Plan

The current situation does not allow Li Aili to pretend to be asleep for too long.

At 1 a.m., the spot next to the large bed was cold and empty. Li Aili rolled over and got up, grabbed a shawl woven by fairies, put it on, and left the bedroom.

Perhaps fearing that it would disturb her rest, the Duke specially dealt with the troublesome post-disaster matters in his study on the first floor.

"The situation in Cold Emerald Territory is very serious. Although you left some knights to guard it, as you know, any young man with a bit of ambition has followed you here."

“Your Highness, if you intend to stay in Emerald City, you should still find a powerful guardian for the Cold Emerald Territory.”

Then, a series of footsteps approached.

The Duke gently opened the door, revealing a white shirt with the collar open, exposing his fair and muscular chest.

The Duke raised his eyebrows slightly and looked down at the kitten that wasn't lying in bed pretending to be asleep.

"Have you rested enough?"

"Are you planning to go to the city again and steal work from the goblins you keep?"

Her husband told the truth.

Li Aili: "..."

"No, darling, let me 'argue' you."

Duke: "..."

Having avoided her husband's angrier moment, the two exchanged a polite kiss.

The Duke took Li Aili's hand and led her into the study.

All the knights in the room stood up, bowed slightly, and paid their respects to the Duchess of Emerald City.

"Alright, let's continue."

The Duke rang the bell on his desk, and soon Conrad knocked gracefully on the door and walked in.

"Your Highness." Conrad walked to Arthur's side, bowed slightly, and awaited his master's instructions.

"Get some cold dishes from the kitchen, along with wine and juice made by the cook."

After listening, Conrad gracefully turned and left.

Li Aili saw that less than two seconds after the door closed, Conrad pushed it open again and came in, pushing a food cart.

Li Aili: "..." This devilish butler is finally giving in to his act.

The knights in the room had been tormented by political affairs all night, or perhaps, as confidants, they all knew a little about the steward's 'special' status.

Soon, delicious cold dishes were placed in front of everyone.

Cucumber sandwiches, ham slices, and a variety of desserts served on an elegant three-tiered pastry tray.

In front of the lady was a plate of cream puffs piled up like a small tower.

The knights preferred the wines from the Emerald City.

This wine is made from a variant of grapes that have been treated with a 'growth booster'.

Don't let the fact that these grapes beat everyone to a pulp in the Knights Training Camp fool you; the wine made from them is exceptionally delicious.

It's the kind of delicious food that can fetch tens of thousands of gold coins at auctions.

Served with cookies and dried cheese, it's a true soothing 'spring of life' for those late nights spent working themselves to the bone with His Highness.

Conrad poured a glass of wine for the Duke.

People don't have as many rules about drinking wine as Li Aili's world.

The wine was poured into the glass, and soon the room was filled with the aroma of 'Devil's Grapes'.

Lance held his wine glass, staring at the ruby-red wine. "These grapes from vines that love to whip people's butts are damn delicious."

Then, the expressions of those who drank the wine from their glasses became strange.

Knight Locke raised his hand. "Conrad, did you take the wrong one? This seems to be a small juice for the lady."

Conrad smiled and adjusted his glasses. "No, Mr. Locke."

The knights all noticed that something was wrong with the 'wine' in their glasses.

At this moment, Li Aili picked up a small cucumber sandwich, ate it quickly in small bites, and asked, "Which god is it?"

The Duke took a sip of grape juice with a blank expression and raised his glass.

"The God of Wine?" Li Aili wasn't surprised by this answer.

Realizing the painful fact that all the wine in the cellar had been turned into 'non-alcoholic beverages', the knights all looked devastated.

Li Aili glanced at it quickly.

Women always disapprove of men drinking, so the ladies at the literary exchange meeting are going to be very happy.

In contrast, the Duke was one of only two men in the room who remained calm; the other was the butler, Conrad.

Clearly, the death of one of the five main gods was more gratifying to him than the temporary inability to drink alcohol.

"That won't work either. With one less main god, the boundary gate will be unstable, and many cracks will appear all over the world."

The memory of the frequent 'rift attacks' during the final years of the Holy Dragon era is still fresh in Li Aili's mind. She really doesn't want to go through those days again, when she and the Emperor and Empress were on tenterhooks waiting for their family members who had gone to the battlefield to return safely.

Therefore, creating a god must be put on the agenda!

As Li Aili pondered this, she casually asked, "How did Albert kill Dionysus?"

Although she was somewhat annoyed, this older brother was too opinionated and hadn't even informed them about such an important matter.

However, in a desperate situation, they encountered Tiamat unexpectedly in the dungeon and attacked her without hesitation.

Arthur lowered his eyes, his golden eyelashes casting shadows that obscured his captivating sapphire blue eyes. "He issued a prohibition order."

Just as Li Aili was about to say that how could Clark's prohibition law in one country shake the god of wine, he heard Balk add in a deep voice:

"Madam, His Highness Albert's prohibition order applies to the whole world."

"Whoever can't put down their cup, the Scourge will 'help' them put it down."

Li Aili: "..."

“Ponsier was the worst off…” Leo wanted to say more, but his colleague next to him elbowed him on the shoulder, and he immediately shut up.
