The council in Emerald Valley is in an uproar.
Regarding whether Emerald City should secede from the Kingdom of Clark, the officials of Emerald City split into five factions and launched a 'battle royale' against the other factions besides their own.
First, the main faction is the 'separatist faction'.
Because of the undead's infamous reputation on the continent, this faction of officials represented the views of the vast majority of intelligent races.
The representative of this faction is none other than Ellie's troublesome younger sister, Wendy Nix, who has become a woman again and is now in a romantic relationship with Thomason.
"Regardless, I believe Your Highness should not have abandoned Clark at this time! Do you want people to refer to the Emerald City Lord as 'that ungrateful female lord' in the future?"
Innocent bystander Li Aili: "..."
Wendy rolled up her sleeves and pointed at Thomason, a member of the "non-defection faction," and cursed, "Idiot! So you want people to talk about my sister in the future and say, 'Oh, that infamous, wicked city lord who colluded with the undead'?"
Li Aili: "…………" Little brat, thank you.
Li Aili watched as Thomason's face turned red and his neck thickened with frustration because he couldn't win the argument.
She was really worried that her silly younger sister, who had just fallen into a sweet romance, would break up with him as soon as she stepped out of the conference hall today.
The third faction stepped forward to act as peacemakers, and by the way, asked Tun Tun about his criticism of the two factions.
"Everyone, don't get so angry. Things don't always have to have a result."
Sometimes it's good to play dumb.
After all, both of them have a point, so why don't we play dumb to avoid either of these outcomes?
Then Thomason and Wendy asked them in unison about their 'brain health'.
Li Aili sat in the city chairman's seat, listening to '1000 Common Language Swear Words', while also taking the time to learn some less common languages.
Because they couldn't win arguments in the common language, many officials started arguing, and eventually, they started using their 'hometown dialect'.
For example, the elven officials, whose racial language was the most 'elegant' in the entire meeting room, were at a disadvantage in this kind of situation.
The elves are the fourth faction, and they advocate 'escape'.
Is it fair to say that their chief god, Corellon, has such a deeply ingrained belief that "if you can't win, you should just go into seclusion"?
The elves put forward the "continental era destruction theory" and, without any evidence, bluntly stated that it was now the "end of the world".
They advocated that everyone learn from the elves and flee to the most remote lands on the continent to avoid the war.
In short, nothing has happened yet; the elves are advocating 'packing up and leaving'.
It's just... hard to explain.
Therefore, this faction had the fewest officials, was the most criticized, and was the first to speak in their hometown dialect.
“%*%!*#……!*%#!” An elf spat out a long string of his hometown dialect to Wendy.
While Wendy was criticizing Thomassen, she still managed to ask Leongor, who remained neutral beside her.
What did she just say to me?
Leongor was watching the officials bickering—no, 'verbal battle'—with great interest when he was suddenly asked a question and instinctively became their translator.
"Oh, it's nothing. She just greeted you politely in Elvish... saying she hoped the Elvish gods would bless you and help you regain the brain you lost due to too many sex changes."
Li Aili: "..."
Wendy exploded, ready to turn the "verbal battle" into a physical one.
Despite suffering several minor elbow injuries from being struck, Leongor managed to stop him.
Li Aili immediately went to look at Thomason, only to see him lightly click his tongue because the two sides hadn't started fighting.
Li Aili: "..." Honey, do you remember? This is your girlfriend. Although she's a bit of a pain, you haven't broken up yet!
Then came the 'joining faction' led by the dwarves.
Dwarves are notoriously warlike.
The dwarves in Emerald City are mostly 'grey dwarves' brought back from the dungeons.
These dwarves are skilled at crafting equipment, but they are also 'chaotic' in their stance, being absolute egoists who do not distinguish between good and evil.
They simply don't understand the other factions.
Because of their height, these dwarfs all stood on stools, and then roared, their faces red and necks bulging:
"Are you all just pigs?! Oh! Damn it! Look how long it took His Highness of Clark's capital to wipe out Ponceau!"
"Damn it! We finally got on a 'good ship,' but now you bunch of bastards want to get off?!"
And that was the end of it.
After the dwarves used three languages—'Common,' 'Dwarven Language,' and 'Dungeon Language'—to describe all the officials at the conference table as being 'grown up on a platter', 'raised by **,' and other profanities that defied human comprehension…
The verbal battle completely turned into a physical fight.
The four factions, setting aside past grievances, first joined forces to beat up all the gray dwarves in the meeting hall.
Faced with the fact that even calming drugs were ineffective, Li Aili stopped struggling and simply pulled the dumbfounded Leongor under the conference table.
"Um, is this really a good idea?" Leongor asked uncertainly. "Wouldn't it be better to give them some calming potions?"
Li Aili took out her pocket watch and glanced at the time.
"The calming effect will eventually wear off. When that happens, all the anger that has been building up will explode, making things even harder to handle."
Leongor nodded, seemingly understanding.
"So which faction do you support?" Leongor asked.
Li Aili remained silent throughout the entire process.
Li Aili glanced at Leongor and said, "Before I became the city lord, I believed that people should support the side of justice."
"Furthermore, I find it very difficult to understand those leaders who knowingly go against the grain and still insist on doing things their own way."
