Chapter 85 No Extra Rooms

That's completely outrageous!

Are you turning someone's pumpkin patch in front of their house into a lottery prize pool?!

Li Aili listened to the gist of it.

Now I understand why my knights have been so busy.

They don't even have time to tend to the mutated crops in their territory; they're all busy stopping these people who dare to venture into the pumpkin patch and are courting death in all sorts of ways!

After all, it wouldn't be good if the appointment were to become public.

The knights did the right thing.

But this can't go on forever.

Ben Karsa, who was in charge of security, said dejectedly, "Just a few days ago, someone came to Thomason to ask about our pumpkins, wondering what kind of terrifying otherworldly creature they were."

"It is said that the entire underworld knows about the 'Pumpkin Treasure Trove' in Emerald Valley."

Li Aili: "..."

"Furthermore, someone even opened a 'treatment center' in Denton."

"It specifically shelters thieves who have been seriously injured in the pumpkin patch."

Li Aili: "..."

She glared angrily at the enormous pumpkin king in the pumpkin patch, "Ugh! I knew keeping you around would bring no good!"

Melon King: "Hetui."

Li Aili: "???"

you!?

You dare to slap me?!

Believe it or not, one bottle of my alchemical potion will turn you into a baby pumpkin!

A knight following behind Ben Karsa muttered under his breath, "Ah, we've had a lot of help from the King of Melons during this time."

Li Aili: "?"

The knight said, "Because our city walls are quite conspicuous once they're built."

“Our territory is very large, but we are small in number, so there are bound to be areas that we cannot take care of.”

"Thanks to the Melon King during this period..."

Another knight said, "He's like a bonfire in the night, attracting all the moths that flutter around."

Another golden knight said, "We're guarding this area. As long as no one gets killed, things are much easier."

Li Aili: "..."

She looked at the knights.

Above their heads, bubbles kept rising, indicating "[Affection for pumpkin: +1 +1 +1...]".

Li Aili said, "Now let's vote. Raise your hand if you agree to keep the pumpkin patch."

Twenty golden knights raised their hands in a flash.

Li Aili: "..."

And so, the pumpkin patch was preserved.

Li Aili dragged her boyfriend to see other parts of the territory.

They rode their horses and toured Emerald Valley. Then it got dark, and it was time for dinner.

When we returned to the Emerald City, which was under construction, the air was filled with the aroma of food. At the stables just inside the city gate, many Nightmare Horses were tethered.

The armor worn by the horse was branded with the emblem of the Holy Dragon.

Arthur had previously sent a message to Albert, asking him to send people to build a teleportation array.

The person has arrived.

"So fast," Li Aili muttered.

Sure enough, upon seeing Li Aili return, the gatekeeper, standing on the watchtower, said to her, "My lord! A group of knights has arrived; they have been invited to dine in the small square!"

"Okay, I understand!" Li Aili waved to the sentry on the watchtower.

When Li Ai Li and Arthur arrived at the small square, George and the others were having dinner.

Upon seeing the Duke, they nearly choked, swallowing their food as they stood up to bow.

Li Aili felt that the knights seemed to have much more reverence for Arthur than before she left.

(Little did they know, after she left, the Knights' daily training turned into a 'hellish express train'...)

Upon hearing the news of their reconciliation, the entire Knights were genuinely overjoyed...

"Madam!" Led by George, the knights of the Order of Knights bowed to Li Aili, pounding their chests in salute.

Li Aili wondered if it was just her imagination, but she felt that their way of addressing her as "Madam" was particularly emotional...

It was like meeting a savior.

Li Aili led the Duke to get the food. "Ah, usually, when everyone finishes their work, we eat together here."

"Let's also have a bonfire party, and have some talent shows or something."

Tonight's main course is Cloud Giant Stew.

Although Li Aili didn't learn how to make this dish.

But Edward, by copying the recipe exactly, managed to recreate about 70-80% of the dish's flavor.

In particular, giant crops are really suitable ingredients for this dish.

The staple food is corn tortillas.

Corn tortillas in various flavors.

The dessert was corn fritters.

Li Aili looked at the dazzling array of corn and fell silent.

Her face turned deathly pale.

Arthur asked in a low voice, "What's wrong?"

Li Aili: "It's okay, I just saw the future."

Realizing something, Li Aili quickly explained, "In the future, we might have to eat corn for every meal."

Just as she predicted, the corn stocks exploded.

So Joanna, who was in charge of supplies, decided on the menu for everyone for the next month, or even a few months—various kinds of corn.

Li Aili began to wonder what she was trying to achieve by researching plant growth regulators.

A campfire was lit at the campsite, and everyone gathered around it to eat and chat.

Edward and George met up and had a very pleasant chat.

Li Ai Li chattered on and on about her territory development plans to Arthur.

Arthur listened quietly.

The knights who were eavesdropping nearby: "..."

Is there something wrong with this?

The married knights exchanged bewildered glances.

Communicating with eyes that only we understand:

Edward: Is this how you and your wife get along?

George: My wife tells me to shut up whenever I bring up business... What about you?

Edward: Same.
