Chapter Four: Healing Potion

Taking advantage of the fact that the somewhat eerie Duke had not yet returned, Li Aili shook off the maid, slipped into the bathroom, locked the door behind her, and re-entered the Alchemy Room.

The three magical plants were still stuck in the grinding mortar, creating a "bug".

Li Aili immediately pulled out the "Fire Bell" and the "Root of Terra" and casually placed them in an open space where they wouldn't get in the way.

The potency of "Firebellion" and "Terra's Root" is waning; please craft them into an alchemical potion as soon as possible.

Ignoring the prompts, Li Aili quickly crushed the "Water Flower" in the mortar.

At the same time, tilt the long-handled spoon and pour the water-based liquid into the crucible, then sprinkle the "Water Flower" powder into the water base, and finally pull the bellows to heat it up.

Soon, the liquid in the crucible began to bubble and gurgle, and the colorless aqueous solution gradually turned into a light blue, then slowly deepened, and finally became a pure sky blue.

At this moment, Li Aili quickly crushed the Terra Root, grinding it into coarse sand-sized particles, and then poured it into a crucible and stirred it.

After being stirred evenly, the blue liquid in the crucible slowly turned into light red, then orange-red, and finally bright red.

With a soft "bang," a wisp of pale red smoke slowly rose from the crucible, swirling in the air and gradually forming a "red heart."

Once the heart-shaped smoke dissipated, Li Aili immediately transferred the orange-red potion from the crucible into a clean, empty glass bottle.

[Successfully crafted, a medium-potency "Healing Potion" has been obtained.]

Li Aili's emerald green phoenix eyes widened. "This is the first time I've ever made a medium-potency alchemical potion!"

The prefix categorizes alchemical potions into three tiers: weak, medium, and strong.

With this "medium-strength" healing potion, Li Aili was more confident in restoring Joanna's husband's health.

[Due to prolonged neglect, your "miracle plant," the Firebell, has lost a significant amount of its medicinal properties.]

"Ah!" Li Aili hurriedly inserted the forgotten fire bell into the grinding mortar.

The poor little yellow flower, when picked, really looked like a tiny bell, its petals still radiating heat. Now it looks like a flattened bell, and touching the flower no longer feels hot.

"What a swindler! This is forcing me to use my reputation to exchange for the 'Miracle Plant Preservation Cabinet' in the [Mysterious Shop]!"

Occasionally, a small truck will appear outside the fence of the backyard, carrying some magical items that can only be redeemed with a large amount of reputation. Li Aili's "mind-reading ability" was obtained from there.

At the time, she hesitated for a long time between "Mind Reading" and "Magic Plant Preservation Cabinet". In the end, considering the special nature of Campbell's Black Market, she prioritized exchanging 500 evil reputation for "Mind Reading".

Don't ask her how she got 500 evil reputation. Anyway, one day, a shy little boy came to her and bought a [Burning Potion]. After the sale, she gained 500 evil reputation the next day.

She was completely stunned at the time.

Li Aili took a deep breath. She felt sorry for him, but she didn't regret prioritizing the "mind-reading" ability.

After leaving the Alchemy House, she went straight to the washroom to wash up, accompanied by the sound of a maid knocking on the door.

As long as she didn't open the door, the maid outside kept knocking.

Looking in the mirror, Li Aili tilted her head slightly.

In the original owner's memories, she should have been the mistress of Constantinople, but after only a few days of living there, Li Aili felt that it wasn't quite the right place.

These maids, for example, were polite enough, but not respectful. They treated her more like a distinguished guest who had been staying in Constantinople for a long time, than the mistress of the house.

So why was Duke Cold Jade so determined to "tie" her back?

I always felt that this duke was playing a very big game.

Li Aili sighed, her resolve to leave Constantinople growing stronger.

She spat out the mouthwash with a "glug glug" sound before slowly opening the door, climbing onto the bed, and crawling under the covers under the wide-eyed gazes of the maids.

sleep!

...

The next day, before dawn, Li Aili was awakened by a chaotic sound of horses' hooves.

She groggily lifted the curtains, climbed out of bed, rubbed her eyes, yawned, and looked out the window.

Then, there came Arthur Cold Jade and the group of knights he had brought back.

Just as Li Aili was about to turn around and go back to sleep, she saw people bound like silkworm cocoons being thrown to the ground by the knights.

Holy crap!

Li Aili suddenly became sober.

She looked closely at the people on the ground. If they weren't sleepwalking, weren't they wearing the robes of light from the Church of Light?

Li Aili's scalp tingled.

"You butcher! You evil one who disregards the authority of the God of Light! The light of the God of Light will never shine upon any knight of the Cold Emerald Knights! I—"

This clergyman from the Holy Light Temple weighed at least 300 pounds, and his powerful roar was clearly audible to Li Aili, who was peeking through the window.

However, the silver blade pierced through the hysterical Bishop of Light without warning, going right through him.

"Ah—" Li Aili let out a short scream involuntarily.

Even though she covered her mouth in time, she was still caught by Arthur Cold Jade, whose five senses were exceptionally sharp.

Suddenly, a pair of icy blue eyes looked at her. Their eyes met, and Li Aili immediately crouched down, hiding herself behind the wall.

Bang bang bang.

She could almost feel her own heart pounding.

Li Aili only stood up when there was no more sound outside the window.
