Chapter Fourteen: Meeting Again

Fisher-Nankey calmly took out a recording stone from his spatial ring.

He pointed the photo stone at the 'roadblock knight' whose ears had turned bright red.

The Elf King, dressed in royal robes and wearing a golden laurel wreath, said, "Come, repeat what you just said."

One of the paladins had already started to "show off," saying, "My name is Augustus, Augustus Saint Nichkhun."

"He is a candidate for Holy Son of the Holy Light Court, and he is 31 years old this year..."

Li Aili: "..."

"Of course, I can leave the Holy See for you!"

Li Aili raised her hand, "I just got divorced, and I have a bunch of 'burdens' to feed. I currently have no intention of getting married or dating."

After she finished speaking, she turned around and went back to the carriage.

The paladin was left standing there dumbfounded.

Fisher-Nankey put away the photo stone with satisfaction and stepped onto the steps to the carriage.

"May your God protect you and prevent you from running into her ex-husband again when you go out."

Augustus then recovered from the blow of his failed confession.

"Wait! Who is she, he, he? No, I mean, I'm a paladin, a very young paladin!"

"I will not be afraid of any challenge!"

Fisher-Nankey got into the carriage and gave a mocking laugh before closing the door.

"But her ex-husband is a dragon lord."

After saying that, Feshen Nanki stopped looking at the stunned 'alternate holy son'.

The door slammed shut with a "bang".

Sixteen celestial horses galloped away.

The pegasus that had "jumped ship" looked at its former owner with sympathy.

"Sorry, bro, but the salary here is tripled, the benefits are great, and they even cover your marriage."

Paladin: "……………………"

The pegasus spread their wings and pulled the carriage made by the elves into the sky.

Fisher-Nankey looked at Ellie Lee and said, "Let's get back to our previous topic."

"Does your sister know anything about the undead?"

This question prompted Li Aili to think.

First of all, there have been immortal creatures in this world since ancient times.

These immortals escaped their predetermined fate—returning to the underworld.

Wandering in the world of the living, perhaps because of the obsession with loved ones, or perhaps because of one's own obsession.

Li Aili said, "I've heard that the undead are terrifying."

“But Mr. Albert, whom I’ve met, I feel…” Li Aili thought for a moment, “is like a living person.”

Fishernaki repeated, “'Like'.”

He said, "If my 'former brother-in-law' is just too nostalgic for his blood relatives..."

“I wouldn’t mind if he had an undead by his side.”

Fisher's tone shifted, becoming serious: "But what if this undead wants to covet the power of Cold Jade?"

Li Aili thought for a moment, "I don't think Arthur Cold Jade would agree."

Fishernaki said meaningfully, "I also hope he's clear-headed."

"Whatever his purpose was in resurrecting this undead."

The living and the immortals are two different species.

Pegasus truly lives up to its reputation as the dream mount for knights; its flying speed is incredibly impressive.

In less than an hour, we arrived at the capital of Clark.

The carriage spiraled down the road.

Li Aili turned her head to look out the window, where the post-war capital city was displayed in the most direct way.

It's much better than the ruins I imagined.

Apart from the city walls being completely demolished, the buildings within the capital city remained remarkably intact.

Li Aili recalled the news that her 'brat' had mentioned earlier.

The Cold Jade Knights were indeed in crisis due to the involvement of both the Light and Dark Orders.

However, at the crucial moment, the royal city was suddenly struck by the 'Cataclysmic Calamity'...

The hooves of 16 magnificent celestial horses landed on the ground, and then the magic stone embedded in the carriage lit up.

The luxurious Clark Palace is right outside the window.

The wheels landed smoothly, without the bumps that Li Aili had anticipated.

Soon, the carriage was surrounded by a group of tall, undead knights.

The skulls' dark, empty eye sockets glowed with a chilling, blue flame of their souls.

Fisher's eyes suddenly turned cold. "How blasphemous."

It seems Fisheranki really hates the undead.

He pushed open the door.

Just as Li Aili stood up to get out of the car, Fisher Nanki slammed the door shut behind her.

Li Aili: "..."

Li Aili only saw Fisher's back before a soft green light burst forth.

The towering death knights fell to the ground, turning into piles of broken bones.

Li Aili: "..." It's really annoying.

Then, it was like stirring up a hornet's nest.

A white skull, a shrill, vengeful spirit floating in mid-air, a lich mage...

They swarmed in from all directions; one might mistake them for someone who had blown up the River Styx.

This instantly enriched Li Aili's 'biological encyclopedia,' allowing her to recognize more than 20 kinds of undead creatures.

Li Aili was so frightened that she pushed open the carriage door.

In that instant, an invisible pressure descended.

The densely packed undead creatures seemed to have been paused.

Space fluctuated, and a spatial gate opened.

The black-haired, blue-eyed duke stepped out of the portal.

I saw a familiar figure from behind.

Li Aili: "..." This was truly unexpected.

The man merely appeared, and the densely packed undead all retreated like the receding tide.

The area around the royal palace has returned to quiet.

There was no indication whatsoever that tens of thousands of undead creatures lurked nearby.

Li Aili: "..."

The man slowly turned around.

Li Aili looked closely at the man in front of her, her ex-husband, Arthur Cold Jade.

He seemed unchanged, still incomparably handsome, still tall, and still dignified.
