Li Aili glanced at the gemstones adorning the shoulders of the dress.
The two gems together are as big as a palm.
So here's the question: are these two gems enough for her to build half a street in her territory?
The tailor shop owner seemed to sense her hesitation and leaned closer to whisper, "Actually..."
"If you don't mind, you can take this dress for a discount."
Li Aili subtly withdrew her hand from the fabric of the dress. "Is there something wrong with this dress?"
The tailor shop owner said with a bitter expression, "In fact, this dress was custom-made by the 'Mad Queen' for that traitorous marquis."
"To be honest, I've already received a hefty deposit for this dress."
"If you really need a dress like this in a hurry..."
"Just pay the remaining balance."
Upon hearing the tailor shop owner mention the Marquis, Li Aili was eager to ask.
But then I thought, if the tailor shop owner already knows this, I can just ask Annie and the others.
Then, she changed the subject, "How much is the final payment for this dress?"
The boss held up one hand and gestured a number.
Annie and Lily's eyes widened, and they exclaimed in unison, "Buy it!!"
Therefore, Li Aili only paid 500 gold coins as the final payment for the court dress.
We boarded the carriage returning to the palace.
Li Aili then inquired about the Marquis.
"Marquis Marina... what happened to her afterward? Have you heard anything about it?"
When it comes to gossip, the girls are wide awake.
Annie nudged Li Aili and whispered, "Of course I know!"
"Sigh, I only heard a lot of things after I came to the capital."
"Do you know that when the Knights attacked the city, the 'Mad King' feared that the nobles would defect to the enemy, so he captured their children and brought them to the palace?"
Li Aili nodded.
"Then, the nobles joined forces with Queen Melanie in a rebellion."
Li Aili: "..."
Lily added, "The reason the Knights couldn't take the capital was because of the support from both churches."
Li Aili understood what happened next.
We agreed to fight the enemy together, but you secretly stole my home.
The Holy Light Church almost immediately turned hostile.
The Holy Light Society retreated immediately, and then the Scourge of the Undead broke out.
The Dark Church probably has a bad reputation...
It's because they often betray others.
They betray allies, betray enemies, and sometimes, in a fit of ruthlessness, even betray their own followers.
For example, seeing that overwhelming horde of undead besieging the city...
Without a fight, the High Priest of the Dark Church on the city wall simply picked up the man who had overthrown his own father, betrayed Melanie, crowned himself Marquis Marina who had betrayed the Church of Light, and ran away.
After listening, Li Aili was speechless.
People say that one should look at a person with new eyes after three days of separation, but Marquise Marina has already gone beyond that.
Did those words of nonsense back then directly cause the 'little white rabbit' to evolve into Godzilla?
When they returned to the Clark Palace villa, the second floor where Fisheranki was staying finally quieted down.
But I didn't see the Elf King.
Li Aili guessed that he had gone to talk to Arthur.
So she took Annie and Lily upstairs to try on the dresses she had brought back as bargains.
If it doesn't fit, she'll have to quickly find a tailor to alter it.
Back in her room, Li Aili changed her clothes in the fitting room.
Annie rambled on and on, but finally couldn't help asking the question.
"So... why did you and the Duke separate?"
Li Aili found that the dress fit her perfectly, as if it had been tailor-made for her.
Looking in the mirror, she was dressed in an elaborate and dignified court dress, looking as noble as a queen...
She hesitated as she stepped out of the fitting room and asked, "Isn't this... a bit too much?"
Annie had forgotten about the question from earlier and shook her head frantically.
"No, no, no!! It's just right!"
Fisheranki returned before lunch, but he didn't look too good.
The talks with Arthur probably didn't go well.
He went straight up to Li Aili.
Lily and Annie are discussing Li Aili's hairstyle for the investiture ceremony.
Therefore, she had not yet changed out of that gorgeous and elaborate court dress.
Fisher raised an eyebrow and looked at the dress Li Aili was wearing. "He gave it to you?"
Li Aili immediately shook her head and denied it, "No, it was ordered by a customer at the tailor shop, and for some reason, they were only short of the final payment."
Upon hearing this, Fisheranki let out a nasal sneer to show his attitude toward the Duke's little trick.
Li Aili also realized it.
However, the person was very clever and never showed up in front of Li Aili again after that.
Until the day of the investiture ceremony.
Annie and Lily burst in early in the morning.
They 'dragged' the still-sleepy Li Aili out of bed and pinned her down on the dressing table, giving her a good thrashing.
When Li Aili fully regained consciousness, the dress was already on her body.
Li Aili: "..."
Lily took a sash and put it on Li Aili, and Annie pulled her up from the stool.
"Perfect timing! Let's get in the carriage!"
Li Aili thought the investiture ceremony was held in the royal palace.
As a result, after getting into the carriage, it drove directly out of the city.
From the upper town, the nobles' carriages formed a long line, with all the fine horses marching in perfect unison.
Even the coachmen were all wearing silver wigs and red uniforms that were only worn for grand celebrations.
After arriving outside the city, Li Aili looked out the window.
