Chapter Six Negotiation

There are six or seven banquet halls of varying sizes in Constantinople.

Li Aili usually ate in the small restaurant on the third floor of the south side, but today she was invited to the second floor of the north side where the Duke lived.

The entire banquet hall was illuminated by magic lamps, and the long banquet tables were filled with blooming flowers.

Male servants dressed in black tailcoats stood on either side of the banquet table.

A male servant respectfully stepped forward and pulled out a chair for Li Aili.

She had just sat down when the tall, handsome duke entered.

Arthur Cold Jade wore a deep red velvet cloak draped diagonally, and a royal blue sash adorned with jewel-encrusted medals.

The Duke of Cold Emerald possesses both the most exquisite handsomeness and the most captivating charm for women.

This was the first time Li Aili had dinner with Duke Cold Emerald since her marriage.

The male servants began serving the dishes.

The appetizers were some cold dishes, including cold sausages, some salad, and sweet and sour pickles.

The Duke, seated at the other end of the long table, waved his hand, and all the male servants in the banquet hall respectfully withdrew.

"I need you to provide me with that red potion. What are your conditions?"

The food on the Duke's side is significantly better than that on the south side. Li Aili is so sick of eating roasted and smoked meat these past few days that she's about to throw up.

Right now, she's using her fork to pick up a cold sausage. The sausage is filled with chopped spices and served with a sauce of chopped tomatoes and onions. It smells delicious.

So, out of curiosity, she put a small piece in her mouth and chewed it like a hamster.

Arthur Cold Jade rested his chin on his hand and watched quietly as she slowly ate the entire plate of cold sausages.

"That condition... I've come up with three so far, can you agree to them?" After elegantly wiping her mouth with a napkin and regaining the initiative, Li Aili looked back at Arthur Cold Jade without any fear.

Unabashedly revealing her blatant opportunism, Li Aili gave her "Duke Husband" across from her a smug, sweet smile and said, "Darling, don't you think this is a bit much?"

The Duke of Cold Emerald picked up his wine glass and swirled the deep red wine inside. "Tell me, my dear."

"First, I want a divorce."

The Duke paused, spilling red wine onto the embroidered tablecloth, leaving scattered specks.

"no."

Li Aili shrugged and began to deal with the Ronanzo salad in front of her. This was a dish created by a nobleman from the Fernand Empire and named after him.

Arthur Cold Jade watched as Ellie finished her small plate of salad. His long, slender fingers began to tap the table absentmindedly.

"You know that the Holy Light Court does not allow nobles, especially high-ranking nobles, to divorce."

Li Aili secretly pursed her lips, "If you had said that before, I would definitely have believed you."

The Duke of Cold Emerald dared to openly imprison members of the Church of Light in the dungeon.

To say he wouldn't dare get a divorce is something even a dog wouldn't believe!

Arthur Cold Jade looked at her for a long time before slowly saying, "But I need at least a year. After a year, we will get a divorce."

Li Aili couldn't help but bargain, "Three months."

Arthur Cold Jade said expressionlessly, "Then let's not part."

Li Aili suddenly changed her tone, saying, "I think the year was fantastic!"

Arthur Cold Jade: "..."

He picked up the bell and ordered the male servants to bring down a dish, "Second request."

Soon, the servants served them today's soup: Suik cream soup.

Li Aili said, "I need a piece of land as my residence after the divorce. Hey, let me just say it, give me a piece of land, I want to be a lord."

Her secret was too important; staying in someone else's territory was never safe, and being at someone else's beck and call was inconvenient. After careful consideration, starting her own business was the safest and most reliable option.

This time, the Duke agreed exceptionally readily, "Okay, but I have one additional condition."

"Your territory cannot be too far from Constantinople."

Li Aili's eyes widened in displeasure. "Why?"

The Duke lifted his eyelids and glanced at the stunningly beautiful woman opposite him. "Do you want to be assassinated by the Holy See and the Potions Association every day?"

Li Aili immediately nodded, "I think you're right, but distance makes the heart grow fonder. It can't be too far, nor too close. Then I'll build a magic teleportation array to link the castle with my residence, so that if we encounter any danger, you can come in time."

Arthur Cold Jade gave a cryptic chuckle.

Li Aili's ears were slightly red at the tips.

“Ahem,” Li Aili also felt a little embarrassed, cleared her throat and continued, “Third, you burned down my little shop in Campbell, and the gold coins I had saved for three months. I think you have to compensate me, and also pay me extra for emotional distress.”

"Furthermore, for all our future potion transactions, you will have to pay with gold coins. Let's keep things separate." After saying that, she picked up her wine glass and took a small, elegant sip.

"Okay. So, when can you give me the medicine? Give me 1,000 bottles first."

"Pfft—" Li Aili spat out the mouthful of red wine she had just drunk.

With 26 points of Good Reputation, she had only collected 33 magical plants today, and only about 20 of them were the materials needed to make healing potions.

Fortunately, Water Blossom and Terra Root are basic materials, but considering the harvest from tomorrow's back garden, she can only guarantee to produce 10 bottles of healing potions at most tomorrow.

Li Aili took a deep breath. "Your Grace, do you think I conjured this thing out of thin air?"

Arthur Cold Jade quietly finished his bowl of Suik cream soup, put down his silver spoon, and looked up at her. "What do you mean?"

"That means I can only give you ten bottles of materials at most tomorrow," Li Aili said.

This number is so high that even the most severely wounded knights in the Knights Order cannot be healed.
