After Chapter 35, I'll watch over Xunxun while she takes a bath.

Xie Xun was looking for a place to stay. Hearing that there was a room available, he noticed that there were only some minor disturbances. No matter how fierce those wandering spirits were, could they be as fierce as Fu Qinghuai, this thousand-year-old evil ghost?

“Thank you very much, Master,” he said sincerely. “Having a place to stay is already a great help.”

Following the address given by Liu Xiuyuan, Xie Xun quickly found the inn hidden in the old Tang Dynasty building.

The mottled signboard, the dim lighting, and the faint musty smell in the air all exude an aura of disrepair.

Upon entering, a bone-chilling coldness immediately greeted him, a stark contrast to the sweltering humidity outside. Xie Xun didn't even flinch, heading straight for the front desk.

There sat a thin, bony old man. Hearing the noise, he mechanically raised his eyelids, his cloudy eyes slowly looking at Xie Xun. He pushed the register over, his fingernails still stained with some dark red dirt.

"How many days will you stay?" The old man's voice sounded like it was being squeezed out of a broken bellows.

Fu Qinghuai suddenly moved closer to Xie Xun from behind, his fingers resting on the man's waist. The wisps of black energy that were about to drift towards the shadows behind the old man instantly retreated back into the corner.

"Three days." Xie Xun filled out the form without changing his expression, his eyes glancing at the dark red under the old man's fingernails.

It wasn't blood, just ordinary cinnabar.

Upon hearing this, the old man grinned, revealing his yellowed teeth, and handed over a key with a faded plastic tag attached.

Xie Xun took the key, turned around, and went upstairs. The concrete stairs echoed hollowly under his feet, which sounded rather frightening.

Fu Qinghuai followed behind him, the hem of his dark robe brushing against the stained wall. The shadowy figures hidden in the darkness froze into stiff silhouettes the moment he passed by.

Before long, Xie Xun walked to his room on the fourth floor.

I opened the door and went inside. The room wasn't big, the furnishings were simple, and the walls were a bit yellowed, but it was still quite clean.

As soon as he entered the room, he keenly sensed a faint wisp of yin energy swirling in the corner, but it was not malicious.

Xie Xun put down his luggage but didn't take any immediate action. He simply washed up as usual, preparing for a good night's sleep. He had stayed up all night last night, and the reason he wasn't sleepy all day was because he was too excited.

Now that he has finally reached a relatively safe place, he needs to rest well.

The sound of running water filled the bathroom mirror, and as the mirror fogged up, ripples appeared in the reflection, revealing a shadow gradually behind him.

As the saying goes, people are most vulnerable when taking a bath or washing their hair.

As the warm water flowed down Xie Xun's black hair, he closed his eyes and reached for the shower gel, only to touch a strand of wet, cool hair.

That couldn't possibly be his own; could it be Fu Qinghuai?

Xie Xun frowned, opened his eyes, and through the hazy mist, saw a female ghost dressed in a blue school uniform from the Republican era sitting on the edge of the sink with her head tilted to the side, her fingers hooking the ends of her two braids, her almond-shaped eyes staring at him without blinking.

She had lingered in this hotel for many years and had seen all sorts of guests, but she had never seen anyone with such outstanding bone structure and unique temperament as Xie Xun.

As the ancients said, true beauty lies in the bone structure, not just the skin.

The man before me was clearly the kind of beauty with the ideal bone structure that the ancients often talked about. Water droplets slid down his wet black hair, disappearing into his collarbone along his jawline.

The female ghost was so engrossed in watching that her fingers unconsciously tightened around the ends of her hair. She couldn't help but float forward half a foot, almost touching him. Her voice, sweet and girlish, exclaimed, "You are so handsome."

As soon as he finished speaking, the bathroom lights flickered suddenly, and the temperature dropped sharply.

A thick, inky shadow spread from the corner of the wall, and the black mist instantly wrapped around the female ghost's ankle, pulling her backward violently!

Fu Qinghuai's figure appeared amidst the surging yin energy, his eyes brimming with terrifying ferocity. One of his hands was still loosely wrapped around Xie Xun's waist, while the other hand gripped the female ghost's throat in mid-air.

"Who gave you permission to see his?" The voice was icy cold.

The female ghost's soul was twisted by the powerful ghostly force, and she couldn't help but let out painful whimpers.

Xie Xun raised his hand and placed it on Fu Qinghuai's arm, his tone calm and even.

"Let her go."

Then, he turned to look at the trembling female ghost, his brows furrowing slightly, "It's very impolite of you to peep at someone taking a bath."

Compared to Fu Qinghuai, a thousand-year-old evil spirit, this female ghost is so cute that she's not even worth fearing.

However, the behavior itself did cross the line.

It seems that the uncleanliness of this inn over the years refers to this kind of female ghost who is not malicious but doesn't quite understand the rules.

"Sir, please forgive me..."

The female ghost blushed at his words, and coupled with Fu Qinghuai's murderous aura, she trembled as she explained, "I've just never seen anyone as handsome as you before, it wasn't intentional..."

The female ghost in front of me is dressed in the typical attire of a female student from the Republican era.

The yin energy was pure and had no bloody smell, so it seems that it has just been lingering in the same place all these years and has not done anything harmful.

In conclusion, he is merely a wandering spirit unable to leave due to some obsession. His behavior was inappropriate but not punishable by death, and there is no need to cause unnecessary trouble.

"Respect for privacy is a basic courtesy regardless of the era, and your behavior is offensive."

Seeing the female ghost tremble, Xie Xun continued, "However, you did not cause me any real harm, so I will not pursue this matter further."

“Xunxun, she saw everything.”

Fu Qinghuai tightened his grip on his waist, whispering in his ear with a dangerous possessiveness in his voice, "I haven't seen any of these, and that makes me very unhappy."

Xie Xun turned his head away from the ghost and looked at the female ghost.

"Leave now, or if this happens again..."

After saying that, he paused, glancing at Fu Qinghuai, who was clearly unhappy beside him, and said, "Next time, let him handle it."

The female ghost felt as if she had been granted a pardon. After being released by Fu Qinghuai, she hurriedly turned into a wisp of green smoke and disappeared.

With the crisis over, Xie Xun immediately felt that Fu Qinghuai, who was pressed against his back, had become particularly inconvenient. He raised his hand and expressionlessly slapped away the hand wrapped around his waist.

"You go out too, I haven't finished washing yet."

"Xunxun, I was so scared just now..."

Fu Qinghuai wasn't annoyed at being slapped away; instead, he leaned closer, his eyes deep and his words full of mockery, "If I weren't there, would she have succeeded? Can I watch over you while you shower from now on? I promise I won't peek!"

Xie Xun: "..."

Fu Qinghuai has been a green tea bitch for a long time, but he didn't even bother to pretend anymore; his words were so blunt they were outrageous.

He had no interest in having a bodyguard watching him take a bath; Fu Qinghuai didn't find it disgusting, but he did.

Xie Xun completely ignored Fu Qinghuai's pretentious posture, his fingers flying as he made a hand seal to push the evil spirit away. The force was not great, but his attitude was clear.

"Don't even think about it. Your behavior is more like that of a thug than hers. Get out now!"

He withdrew his gaze, turned around, and drew the waterproof curtain to block out the evil spirit's burning gaze.

However, how could such a curtain possibly block Fu Qinghuai's view? The black mist, accompanied by water vapor, once again stared unabashedly.

This time, Fu Qinghuai had no scruples whatsoever.

Since the female ghost could see it and hadn't been dealt with by Xie Xun, why couldn't he, who was so close to Xie Xun, see it?

Thinking this way, Fu Qinghuai's gaze became increasingly self-righteous and unrestrained.

Beneath the mist, the washed-down foam meandered down Xie Xun's collarbone and chest, rolling all the way to his clearly defined abdominal muscles. His skin was dazzlingly white, like the finest mutton-fat jade, so beautiful that it was impossible to look away.

Fu Qinghuai silently whistled in his heart.

Tsk, Xunxun's looks were born to be cherished and caressed by him. But she has such a cold and hard personality; she'll fight him to the death if you touch her. It's such a waste of her talent.

His Adam's apple bobbed, and a fierce fire ignited deep within his eyes as he greedily gazed at the vibrant and alluring scene.

His gaze fell on his inner thighs and calves, and he frowned. The bloody holes looked horrifying, and when the water rushed down, it made Xie Xun's body tremble slightly, which only added to his eroticism.

For a moment, Fu Qinghuai didn't know whether to feel sorry for Xie Xun's injury first, or to be so captivated by Xie Xun's charm.
