Chapter 24 Go find the person who killed you and take revenge!
Instantly, the black and white photograph on the television began to sizzle as if corroded by strong acid, gradually melting and distorting.
The smiling faces of the parents and children were distorted and elongated by the snowflakes, their features merging together like melting wax, and within a few seconds they became a huge, pale, ghostly woman's face that occupied the entire screen!
The ghostly face had no pupils, only a murky, deathly white, with two lines of bloody tears slowly sliding down from the corners of its eyes.
She didn't say anything, but stared intently at the three uninvited guests who had barged into the living room.
Then, a strange and unnatural smile slowly spread across his lips.
The next second, as the three people were so frightened that their legs felt like lead and they couldn't move, a woman's arm, pale and with black mud stuck under her fingernails, suddenly stretched out from the TV screen!
She seemed to pass through a film of water, leaving greasy ripples on the surface of the television screen. She grabbed the frame of the television with both hands for support and slowly climbed out.
The female ghost moved very slowly, crawling along while making a creaking sound like bones dislocating. Her soaked black hair clung to her face and the TV cabinet, dripping with murky water droplets.
Soon, a small puddle of water appeared on the ground.
Qiangzi was terrified and tried to back away, but found that his feet were stuck in place as if they were made of cement.
He could only watch helplessly as the thing's body was already halfway out of the TV, its drooping ghost face slightly raised, and through the gap in its black hair, its murky, dead fish eye suddenly locked onto him!
Suddenly, the female ghost's figure flickered several times as if there was a malfunction, and then vanished from in front of the television.
Before Qiangzi could even catch his breath, almost at the same moment, he felt his ankle being gripped tightly by a cold, slippery hand!
He looked down and saw the female ghost that had crawled out of the television set lying at his feet, head tilted back, her black hair falling to the sides, revealing a pale, swollen face with a strange smile.
"Aa ...
A scream accompanied by immense force dragged him violently into the endless darkness; Qiangzi felt as if he were being forcibly pulled out of his body.
In a dizzying moment, everything before my eyes seemed to vanish rapidly like shattered fragments of a mirror.
A violent dizziness and a feeling of being torn apart from one's soul came over him. With a buzzing sound, Xie Xun, who shared the same feeling as Qiangzi, felt as if his head had been hit by a heavy hammer.
When I woke up again, my vision suddenly dropped, as if I had been instantly crammed into a narrow space filled with the smell of mothballs and dust.
At that moment, he was peeking out through a narrow crack in the door.
Two small hands gripped his arm tightly beside him, and an even smaller body trembled beside him, its suppressed sobs ringing in his ear.
Xie Xun then realized that he was hiding in the living room cabinet from a child's perspective, with a little girl next to him covering her mouth, afraid to cry.
Outside the cabinet, the lights were a stark white.
He saw a woman slumped on the ground, her hair disheveled, her face covered in tears and snot, her hand pointing fiercely at the man in front of her, her voice trembling with fear, screaming in a tearful tone.
"Husband! Look carefully! I'm your wife! They are your own flesh and blood! Wake up! Those are evil gods! Those people are lying to you! I beg you, wake up!"
"It'll be over soon, don't be afraid!"
The man stood in the middle of the living room, holding a hammer. Xie Xun saw through the gap that the man's face was expressionless, but his eyes were like two black holes.
He looked at the woman on the ground as if she were an inanimate object.
"The ancestors must return... they must use blood... the blood of their closest relatives... only then..."
The man's voice was completely calm and gentle, without any fluctuations.
But it sounded unfamiliar, as if it were completely different from usual.
"No! The one you believe in is an evil god! It's lying to you!" The woman shook her head frantically, backing away repeatedly.
However, the man didn't say anything more. He just picked up the hammer and walked over step by step.
"Thump, thump, thump!"
The footsteps were so heavy, each step felt like it was pounding on my heart.
Inside the closet, Xie Xun felt his heart pounding in his throat. The little girl beside him was so frightened that she lost control of her bladder, and warm liquid soaked her trouser legs, but no one dared to make a sound.
Xie Xun felt a pang of pity, but he was powerless to stop this brutal massacre and could only watch helplessly.
The woman outside began to back away, but there was a wall behind her, leaving her nowhere to retreat. Her hands groped wildly behind her, and she shakily got up from the ground, grabbed the incense burner on the shrine, and without thinking, threw it at the man.
With a "bang," the incense burner and its ash scattered all over the ground.
This action seemed to anger the man, or perhaps the thing controlling him.
He suddenly sped up, rushed forward in a few steps, grabbed the woman's throat with one hand, and pressed her firmly against the wall!
"Let...let go...cough cough..." The woman's feet left the ground as she struggled desperately, her face turning from red to purple.
The man raised the hammer in his other hand.
Inside the cabinet, Xie Xun's pupils gradually shrank to a point, his breathing stopped, and his mind buzzed.
"No!!!!"
"Bang--!!!"
The heavy thud of the hammer striking the skull was deep and solid, accompanied by a sickening cracking sound.
Fresh blood and soft tissue spurted out suddenly, a few bright red spots hitting the gap in the cabinet door and blurring the view outside.
The woman's body slid softly to the ground, no longer moving, her head deformed.
Then, the man slowly turned around. His white vest was stained red, and his eyes were empty as he stared blankly at the cabinet door.
Xie Xun felt himself and the little girl clinging tightly to each other, trembling like leaves. An overwhelming sense of fear robbed him of all sound; he could only watch helplessly as a pair of feet approached from the crack in the door.
Finally, it stopped in front of the cabinet door.
A huge figure gradually loomed over, and a blood-stained hand gripped the handle of the cabinet door.
"Turning around and around, chrysanthemum garden~"
"My mother called me to go see the dragon boat!"
"I don't want to see it, I want to see the chicks!"
"It's a tiny chick, go buy it!"
"How much did it sell for...?"
The hoarse, off-key nursery rhyme paused abruptly. The hand gripping the doorknob slowly tightened, and the cabinet door creaked open with a teeth-grinding sound, creating a crack.
Outside the cabinet door, the man's empty eyes were fixed on the two trembling children inside.
He grinned, revealing a stiff, exaggerated smile, and finished the last sentence in a breathy voice:
"It sells for two yuan~"
“Clatter.”
The bolt was completely opened.
At the height of despair, Xie Xun suddenly rebounded with a furious rage that had driven him to the brink of neurosis.
No, that's not right!!!
He is not this helpless child!
We are not here to relive this tragedy!
He is Xie Xun!
He's here to solve the problem!
He was not a plaything manipulated by the owner of this haunted house!
A surge of scorching ghostly power suddenly exploded from his heart, resonating with his own pure Yin energy.
"Enough!"
Xie Xun let out a roar.
As the sound erupted, the entire scene before them cracked like fragile glass, then shattered with a deafening roar.
The darkness receded once more like the tide.
Xie Xun found himself suspended in mid-air, and the scene below was the corridor of that haunted house.
But now, at the end of the corridor, there was no longer a wall, but an old television set with a shattered screen. The dark opening of the screen now resembled a gaping maw that devoured everything.
Ye Zi was cornered against the wall, her back against the cold, damp wall, with nowhere left to retreat.
Before her, the female ghost that had crawled out of the television was moving step by step with a twisting, backward-folding motion, her wet black hair trailing on the ground, leaving winding water stains, and her murky, empty eyes staring intently at the leaves through her hair.
"No...don't come any closer..."
Ye Zi's voice was hoarse from crying, her body was trembling uncontrollably, and she had lost everything she could throw away.
The female ghost didn't stop; instead, she crawled even slower, with a playful, cat-and-mouse-like gamble.
Extreme fear, like ice water poured over her head and face, seeped into her entire body just as the female ghost grabbed her feet.
When she was driven to the brink, her anger overwhelmed her fear threshold.
Ye Zi didn't know where the courage came from. Despair mixed with fear, she suddenly raised her head, tears still on her face, and started cursing at the female ghost who was grabbing her ankle.
Why are you staring at me?!
"Go find whoever killed you and take revenge!"
"Why are you dragging us unarmed, innocent people into this mess? What's the difference between you and that bastard who killed you?! You filthy old hag!"
