Chapter 83

Chen Junming was awakened by a glass of water. The touch of the water reminded him of those nimble and cold swimming fish, and he shivered violently.

When he opened his eyes, he saw three faces looking down at him. He was startled again and almost cried out. Looking carefully, he found that these faces were very familiar. They were the wizard, Jiang Tong and her good-looking friend.

"Mr. Chen, are you awake?" Jiang Tong looked at him worriedly: "Why did you faint?"

Shi Xi blinked his eyes and said, "In order to reassure you, we called the wizard back for you."

Shi Xi's words sobered Chen Junming up. He frowned and said, "Didn't you say you didn't hear clearly?"

Shi Xi tilted his head: "I didn't hear it clearly at the time, but I remembered it after thinking about it."

"..." Chen Junming was so angry that he wanted to vomit blood. He looked away, grabbed the wizard's hand, and asked the wizard to look at his palm: "The painted ghost did not leave this house. It has haunted me again! Just now a red fish got into my body. Help me get it out quickly!"

The wizard's face changed when he heard this. He pressed two fingers on Chen Junming's skin and moved them upwards, gradually revealing a puzzled expression: "Mr. Chen, there is not a single bit of Yin energy in your body."

"How is that possible?" Chen Junming raised his voice rudely and scolded, "I thought you had some real skills, but I didn't expect you couldn't even solve such a small matter. What's the use of you?"

"Actually..." Shi Xi asked softly, "Boss Jiang and I didn't see any ghosts, nor did we see any bloody fish. Even the master said that there is no Yin energy in Boss Chen's body. Could it be that there are no ghosts at all?"

"Only I can see it because the ghost is haunting me, understand? I am now very sure that I am haunted by a ghost, not some bullshit mental pressure." Chen Junming was forced into a corner, looking at the wizard fiercely: "No matter what method you use, you must find the ghost for me first!"

Before the wizard could answer, Chen Junming remembered something more crucial: "Go upstairs and see if the ink painting is still there. If it is, burn it!"

Shi Xi and Jiang Tong's faces turned cold at the same time.

Jiang Tong said coldly: "Mr. Chen, this is my home. You want to enter my room and burn my paintings. Shouldn't you ask my opinion?"

Chen Junming said confidently: "I am doing this for your own good. It is an evil painting. If I don't burn it, it will kill you sooner or later!"

Shi Xi lowered his eyes and looked at him, his eyes sharp: "I have some questions for Mr. Chen. First, Mr. Chen just said that the ghost haunted you again, why is it again? Second, Mr. Chen seems to know a lot about that ink painting, why is that? Also, why do you think the ghost only haunts you, have you done something wrong?"

Shi Xi asked slowly and calmly, but Chen Junming and the wizard's expressions became more and more ugly. Chen Junming was so confused because of the ghost that he said a lot of things that he shouldn't have said.

Shi Xi added: "Now that I think about it, when the master came here for the first time, he easily locked onto that ink painting."

Chen Junming and the wizard were speechless and broke out in cold sweats.

Jiang Tong said: "Since the master is so good and Mr. Chen firmly believes that there is something wrong with the painting, then please ask the master to check the painting again. If he can't find any problems, then don't mention burning the painting anymore."

Chen Junming breathed a sigh of relief and patted the wizard: "Go quickly."

The wizard quickly agreed: "Okay, I'll go right away. Mr. Chen, you get up first."

Chen Junming then remembered that he was still sitting on the ground and suddenly felt a little embarrassed. After being pulled up by the wizard, he did not dare to look into the eyes of the two girls. He turned his eyes and saw that the midnight snack on the table had been eaten.

"!!!" When he fainted, these two people were still in the mood to eat, which made him so angry.

The group went up to the second floor and came to the ink painting again. The wizard checked the painting in front of everyone and his face became even uglier: "Mr. Chen, there is really no ghost in it."

Chen Junming no longer trusted the wizard. The wizard said there was no ghost in the house, but he was tortured by the ghost. He couldn't even tell that there was a fish hidden in his body!

When Chen Junming saw this painting now, he felt horrified. He felt that the fish in it was alive and would jump out at any time and burrow into his body to eat his flesh. After thinking it over, he still felt that this painting had to be burned!

Chen Junming clenched his fist and said to Jiang Tong, "Mr. Jiang, please sell this painting to me. The price is not a problem. You can name it as you like."

Chen Junming's shirt was stained with orange juice and water, his sweaty hair stuck to his forehead and he didn't even bother to take care of it, his lips were pale and blue. Jiang Tong had never seen him so miserable in her entire life.

Seeing him so scared, Jiang Tong felt relieved.

But the paintings couldn’t be sold.

"Mr. Chen, you know I'm not short of money. Even if you're willing to pay a sky-high price, it won't have any appeal to me," Jiang Tong showed a perfect smile, with a domineering aura: "I like this painting very much, and the master said there's no ghost in it. There's no need for me to buy it, right?"

The wizard was so ashamed when he heard this. He had not lied, but his employer doubted him in every way, while this girl, whom he felt guilty towards, trusted his judgment.

"I know Mr. Jiang is not short of money, so just give me some face, okay?" Chen Junming was regretting it so much now. It was him who took great pains to send the painting to Jiang Tong's house, and it was also him who was willing to humble himself and pay a sky-high price to buy the painting back.

Jiang Tong may have known the truth, but she didn't say it, and Chen Junming couldn't be sure. He could only continue to be worried. He really lost all his face!

"Forgive me for not giving it up," Jiang Tong certainly wouldn't give Chen Junming this face. She sighed and her eyes turned compassionate. "Mr. Chen, I understand the feeling of being worried the most. Because my house was haunted, I didn't dare to move back for a whole week. If you ask me, having ghosts in your heart is the most terrifying. Since no one has seen ghosts, you shouldn't think too much about it. You should go home early and have a good rest."

The wizard mustered up his courage and said, "Mr. Chen, Mr. Jiang is right. I guarantee that there is really no ghost in this painting, and there is really no Yin energy in your body."

Everyone said there was no ghost in the house, no one believed me, everyone said I was suspicious, and only I knew that I was trapped in a swamp... Isn't this what Jiang Tong experienced this week?

All the harm he caused to Jiang Tong fell on him in the end!

Chen Junming felt extremely powerless. There was no point in saying more. Jiang Tong refused to let go. Could he possibly snatch the painting away?

I'll find a way to find an expert to solve it after I get back. As for this painting...

Chen Junming couldn't admit what he had done. He glanced at Jiang Tong and said, "Although you don't believe me, I still want to warn you. There is something wrong with this painting. You'd better get rid of it as soon as possible, otherwise you will be haunted by the wronged spirit."

"Mr. Chen, I've figured it out," Jiang Tong smiled calmly, "If you don't do bad things during the day, you won't be afraid of ghosts knocking on your door at night."

Chen Junming felt disappointed. He didn't have the confidence to say this.

Chen Junming came in high spirits, but left in a state of disgrace. Without waiting for the wizard to get in, he slammed the door, lowered the window, lowered his voice, and said to the wizard coldly: "You are fired. You know what you can and cannot say."

Watching the car drive away, the wizard felt mixed emotions. He only found out today that Chen Junming had sent the evil painting to Jiang Tong's home, but since he had taken money from someone, he did not expose Chen Junming or disobey his orders. This was against his conscience.

What happened today has really ruined my reputation.

"Master." A casual voice sounded behind him.

The wizard turned around and found that the girl in the white dress had come out at some point. She stood under the lamp, her eyelashes clearly visible in the light. "Let me remind you that making ill-gotten gains is not tolerated by the law of heaven."

Seeing those all-seeing eyes, the wizard shuddered!

The wizard felt like his throat was rusted and he couldn't utter a word.

Shi Xi didn't want to hear what he said. Sooner or later, everyone would be responsible for what they did. She turned and left, leaving the wizard with a tightly closed door.

The wizard left in silence, walking with his head down for a long time. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in the palm of his hand. He raised his hand and saw a little scarlet blood seeping out of his palm!

The scarlet color surged and spread in the palm of his hand, turning into the shape of a fish and climbing up along his wrist!

The wizard's head was buzzing and he was sweating. When did he get tricked? He didn't even notice it!

The bloody fish clearly slapped him in the face. The painted ghost did not leave. What Chen Junming saw was not an illusion. He and Chen Junming came here to deceive people, but they were both deceived.

When he was examining Chen Junming, or when he touched the painting, the blood fish swam silently to his body, lying dormant until now, appearing and giving him a heavy blow.

The wizard thought of the girl's penetrating eyes and shuddered again in the night wind.

She is so young, yet her skills are so advanced! This fish... is a lesson given to me by the master.

The wizard understood everything, but he couldn't tell Chen Junming. First, Chen Junming no longer trusted him and ended their deal, so he might not believe him. Second, he didn't know how to solve this "lesson". In his opinion, offending this mysterious little girl was much more terrifying than offending Chen Junming.

He looked at the fish-shaped lump swimming on his arm and thought that the blood fish on Chen Junming's body might not disappear so easily.
