Chapter 1 Entering the city
The green train built in the 1980s rattled incessantly, and the carriage was filled with the smell of stinky feet and pickled vegetables. Su Ying held her breath, her head aching.
In the 21st century, when she had just won a major medical award and was about to be promoted to vice president, she suddenly fell asleep. When she opened her eyes again, she was reborn as Su Ying, who was in her eighties.
The original owner was twenty years old and from Shangyang Village, Changjiang County. She had just been admitted to university, but had not received the admission letter for a long time. Su Jianshe had been away from home for seven days, and she was the only one who took care of everything at home and outside. Everyone in the village said that she could do the work of two strong laborers.
"Your father is in Jiangcheng. Let's go find him."
Su Jianshe used to be sent to Shangyang Village to work in the countryside. He married Chen Shuyun, the daughter of the old Chen family in the village. However, he did not bring his wife and daughter with him when he returned to the city. In the original owner's memory, Su Jianshe was always indifferent to them. He basically did not work and only liked to read. Chen Shuyun said that he was an educated person and could not do farm work, so she spoiled him.
The couple took a train for two days and two nights to reach Jiangcheng. They were reluctant to stay in a guesthouse and found the Linyi Textile Factory by asking people along the way.
Su Ying was panting due to the heat, and Chen Shuyun's face was red from the sun. She even took out a torn bag to block the sun for Su Ying.
"Mom, my dad is here?"
It was Chen Shuyun's first time in the city, and she didn't know many words, but she was sure she would remember the factory correctly because Su Jianshe had mentioned it in a letter he had written to her before.
"Yes, right here."
She glanced at the concierge, hesitating and not daring to go over.
Su Ying saw her fear and walked over.
"Hello, uncle. I'd like to ask if Su Jianshe works in this factory?"
The old man at the door was fiddling with the radio, and from time to time a few broken sounds came out of the radio.
When he heard the name Su Jianshe, he looked up.
"Who are you? What do you want with him?"
"I'm his daughter, my name is Su Ying."
Su Ying gently pulled Chen Shuyun over again.
"This is my mother, his lover."
The old man at the door had a strange look on his face, and he looked at Su Ying and Chen Shuyun with disdain.
