Chapter 4 Hospital Examination
Su Jianshe looked at Su Ying with an even stranger look. This country girl actually knew things from the city.
Unable to bear his condescending look, Su Ying sneered.
"I've been to school a few days, after all. Even if I've never been to the city, shouldn't I know about the trams there? Besides, I saw them when I was out walking just now."
Su Jianshe thought about it and it made sense. Su Ying was an educated woman, so her knowledge was naturally better than that of village women like Chen Shuyun. But that was all. Country people were always country people.
"It's the No. 5 bus. You can sit right in the front. It costs 20 cents per person. I gave you 40 yuan, so please be frugal. It's for your medical treatment."
See a doctor? Su Ying really felt the shallow and almost non-existent fatherly love from Su Jianshe. The forty yuan might not be enough for a film, and seeing a doctor would probably be a drop in the bucket.
She pulled Chen Shuyun and headed towards the bus stop.
Su Jianshe's face looked unhappy. His own daughter actually treated him, her father, so badly. She was indeed from the countryside and had no education at all. She was not even as good as Xiaohan's heels.
The city in the 1980s was not that big, and the No. 5 tram didn't take too long to make a round trip, so Su Ying and the others didn't have to wait too long before the tram arrived.
Su Jianshe looked at his bike, thought for a moment, locked it on the side of the road, and got on the tram.
Su Ying had just found an empty seat for Chen Shuyun to sit down when she saw Su Jianshe coming up and Chen Shuyun immediately stood up.
"Her father, sit here."
Su Jianshe didn't hesitate at all and sat down immediately.
Su Ying grabbed Chen Shuyun and pushed her back into her seat.
"He works in the office, and his back must be sore from sitting all day. Standing for a while would be good for his back."
Chen Shuyun actually believed it and said to Su Jianshe.
"If your waist hurts, I'll massage it for you when we get back."
Su Jianshe looked at Su Ying with eyes that were definitely not gentle. He found that his daughter was really unlikable, domineering and unreasonable, and she didn't know how to respect her elders. How could she be as obedient as Xiaohan?
"No one in the village likes you with this kind of personality, right? Your mother must be having a hard time because of you, offending people everywhere."
Su Ying received the original owner's memory. She was indeed not welcomed in the village. Some gossipy women gossiped about her behind her back every day. They either said that she dressed up extravagantly and acted like a slut, or that she had no regard for her elders and didn't even say a word when she met people.
Su Ying used to be quite arrogant. She always thought that her father was a city person, and she looked down on the people in the village. She even looked down on the relatives of Old Chen's family. Over time, naturally no one liked her.
After filming, the three of them waited on a wooden bench for a short while before the film came out.
The moment Su Ying got the film, her hands subconsciously tightened. Although the instruments from the 1980s were not very sophisticated, Su Ying, who had eight years of medical experience, could still spot the problem at a glance.
There was no blood clot as diagnosed by the doctor at the county hospital, but there was obvious brain damage. The sequelae of this brain damage are very serious and may even cause symptoms such as hemiplegia and epilepsy.
Recovery is a long process, and medication and regular checkups are essential during this period.
She felt heavy-hearted, knowing that the injury might be a problem, but she didn't expect it to be more troublesome than she thought. She had originally planned to work hard to make money and build a career in the 1980s, but this goal had to be put on hold for the time being. She had to take care of her health first.
"Hey, let's go ask the doctor what the film is like."
