Chapter 88 Too Courageous (1/2)

Chapter 88 Too Courageous

Su Ying thought about it and stood up, fearing that the other person had something private to talk about that she would not be able to listen to.

But Gu Jinghong said in a deep voice.

"Su Ying, I want to eat bananas."

Su Ying turned around, met Chief Gu's cold eyes, and sat back down silently.

He took a banana out of the cabinet, broke off one, looked at Gu Jinghong, and handed it to Gu Huai.

"Well, eat a banana."

Gu Huai's gaze shifted to Su Ying and he waved his hand gently.

"Thank you, no thanks, give it to the third brother."

"There are still quite a few left. He doesn't usually like bananas, so you can have them."

After handing it to Gu Huai, she peeled another one and fed it to Gu Jinghong.

But for some reason, Chief Gu was in a bad mood and turned his head away and stopped eating.

Su Ying's mouth twitched. She stood up, took the aluminum lunch box, put the banana pieces into the lunch box with chopsticks, and then fed him.

"If you don't eat all the bananas, they'll go bad. It's such an expensive thing, what a waste."

Gu Jinghong stared at her for a while, then opened his mouth and ate obediently.

Gu Huai held a banana in his hand, his pupils dilated several times. When did his stubborn little brother show such a side? This arrogant energy would make everyone, whether it was the Gu family or his soldiers, drop their jaws when they saw it.

Seeing that persuading Gu Jinghong was useless, Gu Huai's eyes fell on Su Ying. The third brother was too special to her, maybe he would listen to her.

So Mr. Gu Huai was not as serious as when he first came. He actually peeled the banana and started eating it, and asked Gu Jinghong about Jiangcheng in a casual manner.

"Are the people over there taking good care of you? Last time I went to a meeting, Mr. Li asked about you. He asked me why you didn't stay in Beijing for treatment. The medical conditions here are much better than in Jiangcheng."

Su Ying felt that Gu Jinghong's expression was serious when he heard Mr. Li, which showed that he must have great respect for the old man.

He swallowed the banana in his mouth and spoke lightly.

"It can't be cured anyway, and beds were already in short supply. Why should I occupy a bed?"

Gu Huai could naturally hear Gu Jinghong's perfunctory tone. What he said might be partly true, but the main point was definitely not this. No matter how tight the beds were, they could still find a place for him in the aisle.

Thinking that Gu Jinghong didn't see anyone from the Gu family when he left the capital, Gu Huai sighed softly. He looked at Gu Jinghong with complicated eyes.

"Third brother, grandma is not feeling well, you should go home and see her."

Gu Jinghong lowered his eyes and swallowed the banana in his mouth without chewing it.

Su Ying could feel his emotional fluctuations, but she didn't know what was going on between him and his family, so she didn't dare to say anything rashly.

Gu Huai talked a lot to Gu Jinghong, but Gu Jinghong didn't respond much. Finally, he had no choice but to leave silently.

As soon as he left, Su Ying lifted the quilt to check on Gu Jinghong. He usually didn't eat bananas because they were laxative and could help with bowel movements. But he ate one today, which made him feel very uneasy.

Su Ying asked as she packed up.

"Commander, is he your family member? He said your grandmother..."

"He's my older brother, the most promising child in the Gu family right now, and the one who will support the Gu family in the future."
