Chapter 4 Remember to eat but not to be beaten
Qin Zhang didn't care: "Don't worry, no one heard it."
"If you're not feeling well, take a leave and go back to rest. I'll help you out here."
It would have been better if he hadn't said this. Lu Mingze immediately thought of the day when just a few screws of the machine in the factory were loose, but he insisted on Li Jianying calling him back.
"Director Qin, you are so busy, I won't bother you with my own work."
After hearing his sarcastic words, Qin Zhang couldn't help but be a little more ruthless.
Lu Mingze's solar plexus was pressed so hard that it felt swollen and painful.
"What are you doing?"
Qin Zhang sneered: "I'll push you unconscious. Your mouth is only suitable for talking when we're having sex in bed."
Lu Mingze's face turned red instantly. He wanted to refute but didn't know how to say it.
They were also afraid that others would discover that something was not normal between them.
So I just turned my head and shut up and ignored him.
From Qin Zhang's angle, he could just see Lu Mingze's snow-white neck and the chest that was faintly visible through his factory uniform.
"Xiao Lu, I heard that you had heatstroke. Are you okay?" Li Jianying came over and interrupted Qin Zhang's beautiful thoughts.
"Director Qin is back?" When Li Jianying saw Qin Zhang, she immediately greeted him with a smile.
Qin Zhang nodded slightly, and Li Jianying asked, "How was the business trip?"
"I got a few small orders and will do them first." Qin Zhang took out a few contracts from his bag and handed them over.
Li Jianying looked at it and her eyes widened in surprise: "Is this a small order?"
"You are worthy of being Director Qin. I have gained so much from this business trip."
"A good father will have a good son. Director Qin must be very happy."
"I'll assign the production tasks right away."
Li Jianying said this and turned to leave, having long forgotten that she came to care about Lu Mingze's health.
Qin Zhang called the man over and said, "Director Li, the equipment in our factory is all aging, and it's not a good idea to keep repairing it like this."
"Why not apply for a new batch?"
Li Jianying thought about it and nodded, "Okay, I'll bring it up."
"Also, we were able to get these orders this time thanks to Comrade Qi's help in matchmaking." Qin Zhang said, "We will invite Comrade Qi to our factory's social gathering to add to the fun."
Hearing this, Lu Mingze realized that Qin Zhang was traveling on this business trip with Qi Xinyan.
He couldn't listen any more and whispered, "I'll go get busy first."
After saying this, he left without waiting for the two to respond.
Qin Zhang wanted to call him, but Li Jianying spoke first: "Director Qin, are you and Comrade Qi about to have a good time?"
Qin Zhang glanced at Lu Yuanze who had already walked away, and said seriously: "What nonsense are you talking about? Comrade Qi and I only have work dealings, and we have no other relationship."
"She's a lesbian, please be careful with your words."
Li Jianying immediately became serious: "Yes, yes, I misunderstood."
Qin Zhang changed the subject and said, "Engineer Lu has suffered from heat stroke. Let him go back and rest. I will help him for a while in the afternoon."
"Didn't you just come back?" Li Jianying said, "You've been working hard for a few days, you need to rest."
"It's okay." Qin Zhang waved his hand: "Let's leave it like this for now."
"Okay!" Li Jianying responded and went to find Lu Mingze to explain the situation.
Lu Mingze was silent for a moment and then packed up his things to go home.
As soon as I walked out of the workshop, Qin Zhang came up to me and handed me a shirt: "This is a gift I brought you on this business trip. It's the latest style from the south."
"Did you pick it?" Lu Mingze took it.
Qin Zhang nodded: "Of course I picked it, who else would pick clothes for you?"
"Wear it for me tonight."
He said it ambiguously, Lu Mingze pursed his lips and said, "Thank you!"
"Okay, let's go back and have a rest." Qin Zhang put a cigarette in his mouth and walked into the workshop.
Qin Zhang was happy that he had appeased Lu Mingze, and there was a smile on his face when he greeted people in the workshop.
In the evening, Lu Mingze prepared dinner and waited for Qin Zhang to come.
He took a special shower and put on the new shirt Qin Zhang bought for him.
I have to say, this shirt really makes him look handsome.
However, he waited for a long time but Qin Zhang didn't come.
It was almost nine o'clock in the evening when Li Jianying came to him again: "Xiao Lu, come on, there is a machine that needs you to debug."
Seeing the untouched food on his table, Li Jianying was surprised: "You haven't eaten yet?"
Lu Mingze nodded and asked tentatively, "Where is Director Qin?"
"Oh!" Li Jianying waved her hand: "Don't mention it. The machine was fine all afternoon. I heard that Comrade Qi seemed to have something to ask him, so he left work."
"As soon as he left, the machine broke down, and I don't know what the hell it was."
Lu Mingze curled the corners of his lips. He shouldn’t have held out hope. Why did he only care about eating and not being beaten?
"Hurry up and come with me to the factory to deal with it." Li Jianying apologized, "I will bring up the matter of replacing the factory's new equipment at the meeting next week."
"When the time comes, you won't have to be on call all the time when new equipment is installed."
Lu Mingze smiled and walked out without eating: "Let's go and take a look."
It was already past ten o'clock at night when the machine was fixed.
When Lu Mingze came back and saw the cold food on the table had not been touched, he knew that Qin Zhang had not come.
He took a few bites, took off his clothes, took a shower and went to bed.
Qin Zhang didn't come in the evening.
The next morning, Lu Mingze got up and went to work, and happened to see Qin Zhang's father and the deputy factory director walking into the office.
The two people's words reached Lu Mingze's ears.
"Old Qin, this little Qin is young and promising, and he's also old enough to get married. How is his relationship with Comrade Qi going?"
Director Qin laughed and said, "Young people can handle their own affairs."
"His mother and I will just support him from behind."
The deputy factory director shook his head: "You are really careless. When we were Xiao Qin's age, we already had children."
"But you are not in a hurry."
The two walked away talking and laughing. Lu Mingze tightened the bag in his hand, his heart feeling as if it was rolled in hot oil.
"Engineer Lu, are you feeling better?" Behind him, Jiang Cheng yawned and walked up to him and greeted him.
Lu Mingze hummed: "You didn't sleep well?"
"Oh, don't mention it. I was supposed to be working the day shift, but a co-worker asked me to cover for him for a few hours at night."
Jiang Cheng was spineless and put his hand on Lu Mingze's shoulder: "It's a hard life to be a temporary worker!"
Lu Mingze took his arm away and said with a smile: "It's okay, you work diligently and responsibly, and it's only a matter of time before you get a permanent job."
"I was originally thinking of going to the south to have a look, but who would have thought that the performance of our factory would improve again?" Jiang Cheng shook his head: "Then I have to wait for the regularization."
"Let's go and eat!"
The two of them went to the cafeteria to buy breakfast and sat down to eat when Qin Zhang came over with a bowl in his hand: "Lu Mingze!"
"Good morning, Director Qin." Jiang Cheng greeted him.
Qin Zhang was still peeling the eggs in his hand: "It's getting late. The goods will be shipped in five minutes. Comrade Jiang still has the leisure to sit down and have breakfast?"
