What made Linda most cheerful was that after returning from her adventure, someone had already prepared a meal at home.
This heartwarming scene gave each team member a sense of security, as if they were coming home.
The old mahogany round table was covered with plates, displaying a dazzling array of dishes: salt-baked snails, charcoal-grilled steak, cream of mushroom soup, truffle foie gras, fruit pizza, fried lizard tail, prawn platter, and freshly baked bread as the main course.
The bread was bought from Mary's Bakery, a well-known bakery in the inner city. Linda had heard that people had to start queuing at that shop from noon and it could take more than an hour to buy it.
When I pass by, I often see long queues forming there.
"It smells so good!" Kaphni squeezed into the rented room.
The lazy, golden-haired god saw a table full of food and his mouth watered. He couldn't wait to sit down at the table and start eating.
Monica exclaimed happily, "Lulu's cooking is so delicious!"
In the game's lore, Lulu does indeed have the keyword "skilled in cooking".
In reality, this was Linda's first time eating it.
A four-star character I pulled cooked for me? That's something that only happens in dreams...
Linda sighed inwardly.
"Welcome back." Lulu calmly placed the golden-brown tofu from the frying pan onto a plate and brought it to the table.
She took a handkerchief from her apron pocket and wiped it, then pulled out the chair facing the door, signifying the 'first place,' for Linda like a virtuous wife.
The girl said calmly, "It's been hard work conquering the secret realm."
As soon as Linda went upstairs, Lulu heard their voices and began to silently practice how to calmly say "Welcome back" and "Thank you for your hard work."
She thought she had done a good job. But she didn't notice that the slight trembling of her fingers betrayed the unease in her heart.
Lulu watched the live stream of the Phoenix Flower's strategy to defeat the Goblin Chieftain. When that damned green-skinned monster attacked Linda like a spinning death top, Lulu's heart felt as if it were being squeezed by an iron clamp.
If Linda were to die in front of her, she seriously suspected that she would lose her composure, be unable to suppress the witch's corruption, and transform into a calamity beast in the guild hall.
They challenged such a terrifying monster, yet didn't mention it at all.
"Come here." Linda keenly noticed something, her eyes sharpened, as if she had turned back into a dark shadow, and she gave Lulu the order in an unquestionable tone.
This seemed to touch a nerve of fear in Lulu's heart, and she subconsciously obeyed the order and went over.
Linda's large hand landed on Lulu's head and gently stroked it.
A purifying emerald light shone in the palm of my hand.
It gently healed Lulu's heart.
A feeling of comfort rising from the depths of her bones made Lulu let out a soft hum.
That warm, large hand seemed to pass through her body, soothing her heart.
Despite noticing Monica and the others' surprised looks, Lulu couldn't help but enjoy Linda's head pat—actually, Lulu longed for Linda to stroke her chin more than the wolf-like beastmen, but it was just too embarrassing to say.
The purification lasted for a minute before it ended. Linda held Lulu's petite body in her arms and gently patted the girl's back.
"I'm sorry to have worried my teammates."
Lulu bit her lip, rested her head against Linda's broad chest, and whispered, "Idiot."
A faint sour smell neutralized the greasy smell of cooking oil in the room.
Linda inexplicably received a system notification:
[Witch Lulu's trust level +5 points, current trust level 75, 5 points away from the next level of close friend]
Trust levels rose so quickly?
Does hugging a girl really increase trust quickly?
...
Linda tried again.
It doesn't seem to be a tablet.
Just as I was wondering what was going on, I was punched in the stomach.
"Ooh!"
Lulu stepped away from his embrace, sat down on the right side of the round table, and sneered, "What kind of Eye of Truth is this? He's still the ultimate pervert after all."
"Captain, you're a big pervert... back at the trading company..."
"Eeya!"
Monica was about to say something when she suddenly let out a small scream as Linda covered her mouth.
Linda smiled like warm sunshine, stroking Monica's little head: "Next time we go to the auction, Captain will buy you the new limited edition magic puppet, so don't say anything, okay?"
"Hmm..." Monica hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement.
Lulu glanced at them suspiciously. Although she was curious, given her aloof nature, she shouldn't have asked.
"cheers!"
The three ale glasses clinked together with Monica's juice glass, the crisp sound as light and lively as silver bells.
After downing a glass of ale, Linda slammed the glass down on the table with a sigh of relief. With three beautiful female teammates by her side, the ale seemed to taste even better.
The group, who had just returned from the secret realm, were starving and devoured the various dishes.
Amidst laughter and joy, the Luminous Flower Adventure Team's dinner party came to a close.
After eating and drinking their fill, Linda and the others went to the small bed. Exhausted, they lay down haphazardly, completely forgetting the difference between men and women.
Linda was holding the fragrant, white-stockinged loli girl in her arms, with Kaphni wrapped around one of his thighs from behind.
It resembled a scene of utter disarray after drinking.
Exhausted, the group all drifted off to sleep.
Lulu couldn't help but laugh when she saw their expressions.
Who would have thought that this person who got along so well with the team members would actually be that shadowy figure?
If the original veterans saw this, they would probably be shocked.
