Lia shouted as she frantically tried to salvage the dumplings in the pot.
A little while later, Ai Ke, her face covered in cucumber slices, came down from her second-floor bedroom, looking rather annoyed.
The wheelchair she was in was a custom-made model from the Alchemist Guild, powered by magic cores, so she could go up and down stairs without any problem.
"What's wrong?" Aiko came into the kitchen.
"The dumplings are all broken," Leah said in annoyance. "Why are they all messing with me?!"
Ai Ke glanced at it and immediately understood the problem, speechless: "Did you boil it in cold water?"
This captain is really good for nothing but fighting.
Ai Ke thought to herself, "She can't even cook properly, I really don't know where Lia got the confidence to agree to Linda leaving the team."
Fortunately, this guy wasn't stupid enough to just throw the withdrawal certificate at Linda. Before officially terminating the contract at the Adventurers' Guild, Linda was still considered a member of Xueyan.
We need to seize this opportunity and give Linda a good talking-to.
Ai Ke snapped out of her thoughts and looked up at Lia: "Of course it will break. You need to put it in hot water. Don't you even know something like that?"
"I've never cooked dumplings before, so I don't know anything about this. What gives you the right to criticize me?" Lia threw her spoon on the stove and said matter-of-factly.
Ai Ke was so angry at her appearance that the panda grew bigger.
It's always the same. No matter what happens, it's never Leah's fault; if something is wrong, it's always the team members' fault.
She took a deep breath, suppressing the throbbing veins on her face, and said with a forced smile, "Go and rest. Throw these away, and I'll cook a new pot."
“No, wasting things is not a good habit,” Leah refused.
Ai Ke wanted to swear.
This is typical of a poor adventurer's mindset: they might be ripped off by a hundred gold coins for equipment, but they're meticulous about saving money on small things like clothes and food, unwilling to lose even a single copper coin.
She suppressed her anger, chased Leah to the living room, and served the dumplings herself, placing them on the dining table.
"Pig swill?" Krona was starving. She came down from the second floor and waited at the table, but when she saw the broken dumplings on the plate, she scratched her head in confusion.
“I did it.” Leah’s eyes narrowed.
Krona dared not speak.
She swallowed a half-cooked dumpling with a bitter expression, and couldn't help but ask, "Sister Aike, why isn't Linda back yet?"
In Chrona's eyes, she didn't have a concrete understanding of Linda's departure from the team.
They came back in the evening, or something like that.
“Um, well…” Eko glanced at Lia.
Lia remained silent, frantically showing off the dumplings, seemingly trying to prove to the two of them that they were actually edible.
"Can you come back tomorrow?" Chrona looked at Eko expectantly.
"Linda's gone out for a walk in a few days." Eko patted Chrona's head and spoke to her, but her eyes were glancing at Leah out of the corner of her eye. She clearly saw that when Linda was mentioned, Leah's hand holding the dumpling froze for a moment, and her movements were a little unnatural.
Ai Ke scoffed inwardly.
She really didn't want to clean up Leah's mess.
But the Snow Goose Adventure Team really needs Linda. Even if her level is a bit lower, having her at home to help with strategy and cook would be good.
I need to persuade Linda to come back and be my dog... oh no, I mean, my teammate.
Ai Ke's cheeks flushed slightly, as if she were thinking about something.
Each of the three was preoccupied with their own thoughts, and the dinner table fell silent, save for the sound of rice being cooked.
The desolation seemed to make Leah quite uncomfortable; she kept tapping her right foot on the ground, making an annoying sound.
Aiko always had a feeling that this powder keg could explode at any moment.
If you're so capable, go and beg Linda back yourself.
All you do is give your teammates attitude, huh?
Aiko couldn't stand it any longer, so she coughed lightly and brought the matter to the forefront: "I'll find an opportunity to talk to Linda."
Lia kept her head down, drinking her juice, and didn't respond, but her toes, which had been tapping back and forth, stopped.
Noticing this detail, Eko felt an overwhelming sense of contempt for Leah. She tried her best not to show it on her face and said calmly, "I'll go ask him if he has realized his 'mistake'."
Before he could finish speaking, Lia let out a cold snort.
"Anyway, I won't let him return to the team."
Echo smiled, as if she wanted to dump the bowl on Leah's head.
"It was Aiko and the others who asked you to come back, but I didn't agree! If you insist on coming back, then work hard from now on and don't be lazy!" Aiko could easily imagine the scene after Linda returned.
Knock knock knock!
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
All three of them turned to look.
A thought struck Ai Ke: "I'll go take a look."
What if it's Linda outside?
She couldn't let that little slut Leah be alone with Linda late at night; it was too dangerous for a man and a woman to be alone together.
Aiko opened the door and stepped outside with a hint of anticipation.
The result was not Linda.
A dozen or so young men gathered at the entrance of the villa.
The leader was a neatly dressed, thin young man with a headband that read 'Leader of the Ice Flower Adventure Team Support Group'.
Aiko's face twitched. These people, are they what are commonly known as 'otaku'? They don't dare to go to the secret realm themselves, but they yearn for adventure, so they take other people's adventure teams as their spiritual support.
What disgusted her even more was that this group of people were the support team for the Ice Flower Adventure Team.
Ever since she heard that Isha had invited Linda to join the team, she has had no good feelings towards Isha at all.
"This is the Snow Goose Adventure Team. Have you all come to the right place?"
Ai Ke smiled gently, like a mature older sister, perfectly concealing her true inner thoughts.
