Chapter 222 Linda's response to Eiko, Lulu's backing

Aiko's voice was very soft.

But to everyone, it was like a bolt from the blue.

The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Linda and the others were stunned.

That seems unlikely.

After all, Ike had repeatedly stated in public that she only considered Linda a close friend.

Lia also asked Eko what she thought of Linda, and Eko replied that they were just ordinary old teammates.

"W-What are you talking about?!" Leah stared in disbelief. "You must be lying, right? If you liked Linda, why didn't you say a word when I kicked him?"

Lulu, looking wary, grabbed Linda's hand in a show of defiance.

Linda was the most surprised.

He didn't feel that Aiko's attitude towards him was anything special; they hadn't even touched hands in three years.

It's important to know that every man possesses a special ability: to sense whether a girl likes him. When the thought arises, "Does she like me?", it's usually accurate nine times out of ten.

But so far, Linda has not received similar intuition from anyone other than her own teammates.

Especially Ike, the least likely!

"It's true, I'm not lying to you!"

Aiko's face turned as red as a monkey's bottom.

On one hand, there was the shame of being publicly executed, and on the other hand, there was the worry that this 'lie' would be exposed, so she had to embellish the description of this relationship so that Linda and the others would believe it.

"I didn't realize it before Linda left the team, but it was only because Linda left that I understood!"

Ai Ke retorted, "Look how good my cooking is! I only practiced it for Linda!"

"I put spring sunflower pollen in the chicken soup just hoping to take my relationship with Linda a step further, but you all blame me, sob sob, I'm so heartbroken!"

Aiko lowered her head again, pretending to cry. But somehow, tears streamed down her face, and she didn't even have to consciously think about sad things.

Lia was the first to believe it, and stammered, "You...you...this won't do. You're a member of Xueyan's team, and I, the captain, forbid you from dating."

You're being way too nosy!

In her heart, Aiko cursed Lia as a loser, saying that she was incompetent and yet wanted to drag others down.

Lulu said, "I refuse."

Eiko: ?

Who asked you?

It's just a tail with multiple ways to play, what's so special about that?

Lulu's face was icy: "Linda has no interest in dealing with women; he puts all his energy into adventure."

That's nonsense.

Ai Ke was indignant. Look at my big white bear stockings, wouldn't that make Linda drool? How could anyone be indifferent to women and only want to take risks?

Linda's enormous holy sword suggests she's recently been into women. Once Linda becomes her slave, she might beg six or seven times a night, refusing to let her master sleep.

But Linda's voice shattered Eiko's illusions.

"Lulu is right."

Linda slowly said, "The Demon King is about to break the seal, and my sister has also become a lackey of the Demon Clan. With such a formidable enemy at hand, I have no mind to focus on anything else."

“Aike, I know you are a good person. I hope you will put your mind on the right path and wholeheartedly assist Xueyan in the future.”

After hearing this, Ai Ke's heart skipped a beat: What did that mean? Her 'confession' had been rejected by Linda?

Although it was a fake 'confession,' Linda's response to her heart was genuine.

In other words, even if Aiko confesses her feelings sincerely, she will still be rejected by Linda!

Linda the cricket actually rejected her!

Aiko's face was snow-white.

As a genius mage, she had never experienced such a devastating defeat in her life.

She said unwillingly, "Fine, I know you're thinking about adventure right now. But let me ask you, what happens after the adventure is over? Once you've dealt with the Demon King and Lin Xi, shouldn't you be looking for your Oathgiver?"

Linda thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes."

"Back then, I could barely be your oath-taker," Aiko said.

This left Leah speechless once again.

Linda shook her head: "Oath-takers usually find their own teammates, right? They're partners who've been through thick and thin with you, and there's no one more reliable than them."

Eiko: ...

This made her want to lower herself and join the Phoenix Flower!

“But I suggest you don’t limit yourself to your own team,” Lia said in one breath after holding back for a while.

Linda asked in confusion, "Why?"

"Because... there might be better, more powerful or something outside..." Leah didn't even know what she was saying, just rambling on and on.

Looking at Leah, Linda suddenly remembered something: "When I was 'poisoned,' it seemed like..."

If Eko and Lulu hadn't arrived by the way, the current situation might have become that Lia had brought Xueyan's people over and forced him to take responsibility in a grand manner.

Leah's ears turned slightly red, and she forced herself to say, "Don't overthink it, nothing actually happened."

Linda breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good."

As if I had avoided some kind of trouble, I immediately felt relieved.

When Lia saw Linda's appearance, she became inexplicably angry.

She's like a piece of chewing gum, you'd be afraid to step on her if she got stuck.

No one asked Eko if she was injured. Even Lia, who was on Eko's side, thought that Eko had brought it on herself.

Linda only saw her as an ordinary teammate, yet she tried to win Linda's favor through such treacherous methods.

What's the difference between this and those lowly elves in the tavern who only care about the customers' money?

Lia crossed her arms and adopted a captain's demeanor: "Aiko, you'd better apologize quickly. If this is reported to the law enforcement bureau, you could be arrested for several months, which would delay Xueyan's progress."
