The intense midday sun shone down on the silver-haired maid.
Her black high heels were encased in pristine white stockings, and her long skirt reached all the way to her ankles, revealing not a single inch of her more attractive side.
A question popped into Linda's mind: Why would a maid wear high heels that make it difficult to move around?
After thinking about it, I realized it's an anime/manga game, so okay, never mind.
"You heard what I said to Mingli."
Linda said calmly.
The condition for unlocking Tasia's trust reward is to get Tasia to acknowledge that the Shadow of Darkness is a part of herself, rather than that she is an accessory to the Shadow of Darkness.
This involves an event that is suspected to have bull-related elements.
Tasia must follow him, not the game character he controls.
Linda: "The person you're looking for is 'dead,' and what remains is the eye of true knowledge, Linda."
"If you are still willing to join my adventure team, I will keep my promise and take you and everyone else to the top of the World Tree."
Upon hearing Linda mention reaching the summit of the World Tree, Abner, Davin, and the others all displayed somewhat subtle expressions.
You really dare to say that...
But for some reason, when Linda said those words, it didn't sound arrogant.
Linda seemed very serious and wanted to take Tasia to the top floor.
"I...cannot accept it."
Tasia pursed her lips and said in a hoarse voice, "You, you are clearly... why deny it?"
Linda shook her head.
"You don't need that person anymore. I want you to live freely and not rely on anyone else anymore."
"Whose order is this?"
"It's not an order, just a suggestion from an ordinary adventure captain."
The atmosphere was somewhat tense.
A look of struggle flickered in Tasia's eyes.
Joining Linda's adventure team means acknowledging that she is Linda's master, and that the former shadowy figure was merely a mask for Linda. And that mask, Linda no longer wants to use.
This is no different from the death of the Dark Shadow himself.
"So this is your answer."
Seeing that Tasia remained unmoved, Linda said regretfully.
Tasia's face paled: "No..."
"Linda, please accept her!"
Davin walked over and sighed, "Although I don't know what happened between you in the past, Tasia has already shown remorse. As the vice-captain of the Crimson Adventurers, I implore you to take her in."
Tasia looked at Linda expectantly.
Lulu, Monica, too.
Whether Linda accepts Tasia or not, the two of them will accept her.
Linda had previously mentioned to them that all former team members were welcome to join the team.
But this time, Linda shook her head.
"I can't take her in."
This answer made Tasia's face turn pale, and her eyes welled up with tears.
I feel like the little pearls are about to fall out.
Admittedly, it feels really good to bully a mature, brown-skinned maid.
However, this was not Linda's goal.
Linda needs Tasia to follow her, not the shadow of darkness she once was.
"If you want to join the Phoenix Flower Adventure Team, you can say so yourself."
"I want to become a member of 'Linda' and go on an adventure with the Phoenix Flower."
"Otherwise, I won't take you in."
Linda's words were resolute.
Even when Davin pleaded on his behalf, it was to no avail.
Unless Tasia is completely convinced.
Otherwise, even if it were given to Linda for free, she wouldn't accept it.
Tasia strained her throat and said with difficulty, "If you issue the order in 'that' capacity, I am willing to join the Phoenix Flower and serve you."
A hint of disappointment flashed in Linda's eyes.
Tasia panicked even more.
I don't understand why Linda didn't give the order.
It was Linda who once told her to give up thinking and simply follow orders.
Now they're telling her she doesn't need any more orders and can live freely.
Having come from an assassin organization and being instilled with the idea that 'orders from superiors are everything' from a young age, Tasia is unable to make choices on her own.
Tasia's mind went into chaos.
The conversation was on the verge of breaking down.
Davin stepped forward again.
The proud red-haired swordsman bowed deeply to Linda, his upper body almost parallel to the ground.
"Linda, please take Tasia in, no matter what!"
"On behalf of the Mandala family, I'm willing to owe you a favor!"
Everyone looked at Davin in surprise.
For the sake of one team member, the scarlet vice-captain bowed and begged Linda.
If you want something good, that's fine.
What Davin actually asked for was for Linda to poach one of his players, giving Linda a powerful star-ranked team member for free.
Either Daven is a saintly captain,
Or he's a total simp!
Eberna, who had known Davin for a long time, looked completely surprised.
Leah was also stunned.
It seems like Davin treats Tasia better than he treats his younger sister.
Linda quickly helped Dawen up.
He sighed softly: "I didn't say I didn't want her. As long as she speaks up herself and is willing to follow me, I would welcome a Star Rank member to join me."
Others were unaware of the conflict between him and Tasia, and only assumed that Tasia was begging to join the team, but he refused.
He almost made the girl cry, but he still acted all high and mighty and wouldn't let her join the team.
Even after all this has been said, Tasia is still hesitant, confused, and unable to make a choice.
Linda: "Then I'm sorry."
He strode forward.
"Wait, Linda!"
Davin stopped him again.
“I know very well how much Tasia longs to see you! She has been searching for you for the past three years since she joined the Crimson Adventurers. If you refuse to take Tasia in today, her illness will definitely flare up. Please, have mercy and let her stay!”
