Linda frowned. If she remembered correctly, Rod had given up on Herus and left White Dove City long ago. How could he be here?
Rhodes was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, and his arms were thicker than an average person's thighs, making him look like a muscular monster. As the leader of a veteran Iron-rank adventurer group, he had a level of 34, and his combat experience was far beyond that of ordinary star-rank individuals.
Rod, sporting a bald head, was glaring angrily at himself.
But that anger didn't seem to be directed at him?
Rhodes gritted his teeth and said, "Herous, if I kill this brat, you'll spare my daughter! For the sake of our ten years of alliance, I hope you won't break your promise!"
“Of course, I, Harus, am not like you, Rhodes, a man who likes to betray his allies.” A mocking voice rang out.
After hearing their conversation, Linda roughly understood the cause and effect.
He said in a deep voice:
“Rhodes, don’t listen to that guy Halus’s nonsense. How could your daughter have survived if she fell into his hands?”
No matter what, he will not let you and your daughter go.
"Why don't we join forces, eliminate Harus, and avenge your daughter?"
Below the stage, a group of followers of the Dragon's Rest Tomb watched the show with laughter and merriment.
"This Linda actually wants to persuade him to surrender? Her thought process is truly bizarre!"
“But how dare Rhodes defy Lord Harus? If his daughter were turned into a skeleton soldier, he would probably collapse.”
"Any pain and sacrifice is worthwhile, Your Majesty the Demon King's glory will last forever!"
There were fanatical believers who raised their arms and shouted.
Led by this person, the shouts grew louder and louder, turning into a roaring tsunami.
"Offer the pain to His Majesty the Demon King, may His Majesty's glory endure forever!"
Linda and Rod on the stage both felt an irritating pressure.
"Shut up, shut up!"
Rod roared.
A white aura swept over his entire body, and Rhodes' muscles grew larger, with veins bulging on his forehead.
He roared like a wild beast, stomped his foot hard on the ground, creating a small crater, and attacked Linda with a whooshing sound.
'A Fighter... Super effective against Rock and Steel types, and has slight resistance to Poison types.'
Linda quickly figured out Rod's background.
In an instant, the Earth Dragon Sword was drawn, and a torrent of powerful magic erupted forth.
Linda's level 33 was exposed to everyone without reservation!
This caused the surrounding uproar and shouts to quiet down slightly.
The cultists looked at Linda with suspicion.
In their minds, Linda is still a member of class 26.
Even if you manage to escape from the sealed Great Secret Realm, you'll only reach a maximum of 27.
“Under the Iron Fist of Rhodes, even if you are a level 33 Star Rank, you will only face death.” Harus shook his head with a faint smile, not taking this unexpected event to heart.
Rhodes's well-trained muscles were far superior to those of Linda, a newly promoted star-rank.
It's simply a matter of changing from a one-hit kill to a multi-hit kill.
Herus's attention wasn't even on the stone platform.
Instead, he focused on his precious experimental subject, Monica.
Monica, inside the cage, trembled violently, as if she could foresee Linda's gruesome death, clutching her head and unable to watch.
Such a large emotional fluctuation has never been seen in previous experiments.
Halus thought to himself, "It seems that Linda is very important to Monica."
Even he, as Linda's "grandfather," couldn't help but feel affection for her because of her.
"Very good, very good! Rhodes, go torture and kill that Linda, to give my Monica the best birthday present!"
Halus stroked his beard and laughed heartily.
On the round platform.
Rod's massive, calloused fist drew ever closer to Linda.
The intense wind pressure made it difficult for Linda to open her eyes, and her face stung.
But he could clearly see the movement trajectory of that fist.
His thinking is keeping up.
There's still time to move your body!
After equipping herself with full Star-Rank gear, Linda's stats reached a level that ordinary Star-Rank players could only dream of.
Despite Rhodes's fierce offensive, Linda still felt that everything was under control.
With such a rapid pace of thought, time seems to slow down.
Slow, too slow!
Linda tilted her head slightly, causing Rod to miss his punch.
Immediately, he slashed at the opponent's neck with his sword!
Rhodes, being a veteran Star Rank cultivator, raised his left arm to defend, concentrating the energy of his entire life barrier there to solidify his defense.
The water rippled at the barrier, causing only a minor wound.
Immediately afterwards, Rod twisted his waist, using the momentum to swing his right leg, which slammed towards Linda's waist!
With the aura of a level 34 fighter, this move is incredibly dangerous; it can shatter even a rock!
'Perfect timing! I've been wanting to test my physical strength!'
Linda didn't back down and kicked Rod in the same way.
With a loud thud, the dust on the ground was swept away by the strong wind.
Within a ten-meter radius, everything was as clean as a mirror.
Both sides retreated a few steps.
Rhodes staggered, his face pale, swaying like a roly-poly toy.
He did a wide split to regain his balance.
Rod looked at Linda, whose coat was fluttering and who had stopped walking casually, and a look of surprise flashed in his eyes.
A single exchange revealed the difference in skill.
Linda made a preliminary conclusion through probing.
Rhodes, who once overwhelmed the entire Phoenix Tail Flower Squad and gave him a major headache, was no longer a match for him.
His strength, agility, defense, health... aside from his combat experience being inferior to that of the forty-something-year-old Rhodes, he completely overwhelmed him in every other aspect.
Inside the cave, the cultists' fanatical chants were like a torrential downpour that had subsided, turning from fierce to sparse, and finally falling completely silent.
