Chapter 36 Linda: Don't come anymore.

"I recognize her. She seems to be a mage from the Snow Goose Adventure Team named Eiko, and she's over level 20."

A man with a full beard said in surprise.

Upon hearing this, everyone quickly averted their greedy gazes.

These adventurers from the Sparrow District were mostly below level 10, and were considered the lowest rungs of White Dove City.

To buy magical equipment, everyone was burdened with loans and dared not cause any trouble.

You could say that even a dog could step on them.

But that doesn't stop them from watching the drama unfold.

What business does someone like Ai Ke have coming to this filthy, fly-infested restaurant in the Sparrow District?

At this moment, at the innermost table.

Kaphni was facing the doorway when she immediately spotted Echo, who was elegant, dressed in a white dress, and looked like a pure white lotus.

She picked up the glass with interest and took a sip.

“Over there,” she said to Linda.

Linda was eating a skewer of salamander sprinkled with chili powder, the bones crunching as she chewed, the spicy flavor was incredibly satisfying.

Looking back, I was quite surprised.

"Aiko, what brings you here?"

Linda said in surprise.

He left the team at noon, and it was only evening when Ai Ke came to visit him.

He would have been absolutely happy if Kaphni hadn't reminded him beforehand.

However, Eiko's arrival came after he and Leah had a fight.

What a coincidence!

Linda appeared unharmed, but inwardly she was on high alert.

"I figured you might not have eaten yet, so I made some myself. I happened to hear your voice when I passed by this shop..."

Ai Ke came closer, holding a lunchbox, pouting pitifully.

"By the way, about what happened at noon." Ai Ke stated her position directly, looking indignant on Linda's behalf: "Lia really went too far. How could she speak so harshly to her teammate of three years?"

"It's alright, it's all in the past." Linda waved her hand, pulled over a stool from the side, placed it on the right side of the table, and said, "Want to eat together?"

Aiko did not answer, but looked at Linda with a deep gaze.

What does it mean when it's said that "the matter is over"?

You're still in the mood for barbecue? Don't tell me you don't even care about me anymore?

Ai Ke came over specifically to deliver the food, hoping to see Linda looking downcast.

Leah, Chrona, Kaine, and Oru—it's one thing, but how could Linda just let it go with a casual remark about her, her closest friend?

In order to lure Linda into a trap, Eko, while at the Adventurers' Guild, didn't hesitate to use her body to release the Panda Beast to capture Linda.

But now, Linda's indifferent attitude has hurt her self-esteem once again.

If she had touched Linda's genitals, she wouldn't be so calm! Could it be that she's already touched that Kaphni countless times in private?!

She took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to unleash her light arrows at Kaphni, who was showing off her bulging meat, and said with a dry laugh, "I'm not eating anymore. Actually, I'm on a diet lately."

"Oh, no wonder, you do seem a bit heavier than usual," Linda said, suddenly realizing.

Aiko's smile froze.

You actually believed that random excuse you made up?

Are you blind?

Ai Ke cursed inwardly.

She just found the grilled meat disgusting, thinking it might contain the sweaty hands of the lower classes.

"Um... the boxed lunch I made is healthier, so maybe you shouldn't eat the barbecue?"

Aiko showed no anger whatsoever, perfectly embodying the image of a caring girlfriend as she handed the lunchbox wrapped in white floral patterns to Linda.

This scene made the adventurers in the shop green with envy, and suddenly the roasted meat in their mouths tasted bland.

To their astonishment, Linda shook her head and pushed Aiko's lunchbox back.

don't want!

Now, it wasn't just the adventurers in the shop who were stunned. Aiko's fair fingers, which were holding the lunchbox, trembled slightly. She opened her mouth and looked at Linda in disbelief.

"Huh?"

She made a questioning sound.

This guy actually dared to refuse the boxed lunch she made herself?

"Aiko, don't come here so often in the future."

“I’ve left the team, but you’re still with Xueyan. If Liya finds out about this, she’ll ostracize you.”

Linda said earnestly, "I'm fine here for now, so you don't need to worry."

It sounds nice, but the meaning is actually very simple.

Don't come again.

Aiko instantly understood the meaning behind those words.

Her eyelids twitched, and she felt a strong sense of unease for no apparent reason.

How could Linda change so much in just one day?

Shouldn't that kind-hearted Linda be grateful for the free meals she provided?

Aiko found it hard to believe that Linda could say such a thing as rejection.

Her long eyelashes fluttered, and she touched the dry corners of her eyes with her small hands, saying in a slightly sobbing voice:

"Linda, why are you doing this? It's Lia who offended you, not me, right? Can't I even come to visit you?"

A soft, whimpering sound echoed inside the store.

Many adventurers, unaware of the details, believed only what they saw and immediately assumed that Linda had cheated on him with another blonde woman, staring at Linda with reproachful eyes.

When the barbecue restaurant owner brought out two charcoal-grilled steaks, he laughed heartily: "Ah, those were the days! Back in the day, I..." As he spoke, the bald owner suddenly froze, because not a single pretty girl had ever pursued him.

Even after the shop owner quietly left, Ai Ke's performance was not over.

"Linda, don't you consider me a friend anymore?" Ai Ke squeezed out a few tears, biting her lip like a fragile little animal.

“You’ve misunderstood,” Linda sighed. “I didn’t mean anything by it, I just thought Leah would ostracize you. You should know how petty she is.”

“But I don’t care. Visiting friends is normal, isn’t it?” Aiko said stubbornly.

"That..."

Linda made a surprising statement: "Why don't you just join my team?"

"Your team?"

"You've formed a team?"

"Didn't you join the Ice Flower Adventure Team?"

Aiko's eyes widened, and she suddenly had a very bad feeling. In her anxiety, she asked questions in rapid succession.

She had assumed that Linda left the team to join a Rock-class squad with a better atmosphere.

In that case, she has many ways to bring Linda back.

Ultimately, Linda chose to change teams for the sake of better clearing the World Tree dungeon.

But Linda's own interpretation of building her own team is completely different.

To bring Xueyan back, you first need to disband his own team... This makes it more than twice as difficult.

For the first time, Aiko felt a sense of panic, as if she couldn't hold onto the leash and the dog was about to run away.

When talking about building the team, Linda's face was full of wonderful expectations for the future, and her black pupils were shining.

It turns out that Linda, who left the Snow Goose Adventure Team, truly had no lingering feelings for her...

I'm not reconciled.

Ai Ke gripped the lunchbox tightly, gritting her teeth, feeling extremely unwilling.

Linda joined because of Lia, and she also left because of Lia.

She wasn't notified in advance about the team's formation.

She was just a passerby!

Aiko silently squeezed out a few tears and sobbed, "Linda, I..."
