A commotion broke out in the hall.
A Star-Rank Adventurer appeared in the Sparrow District, a rare occurrence, much like an annual visit by nobles to the slums with reporters to distribute relief funds.
The crowd looked at Linda with either curiosity or awe.
Being able to watch the same live broadcast as a Star-Rank player is something to brag about when you go to the tavern.
"Captain Linda, what do you mean by saying that Abner cannot make a move?"
A male elf, dressed in tattered clothes but with a gentle and refined demeanor, placed his right hand on his chest and bowed slightly to Linda.
While the average quality of adventurers in the Mahjong Zone is relatively low, there are also a few high-quality players like this elf.
The noise in the hall immediately quieted down considerably.
Everyone wanted to hear Linda's explanation for Abner's "cowardly" behavior.
It's one thing if low-level adventurers can't understand it, but even Lia is looking like she's deep in thought... Linda sighed inwardly. The damn game developers must have given Lia an IQ of less than 100.
Linda pointed to the screen and said, "Look closely, after the White Dove Adventurers attacked, didn't their bodies sway and their faces show pain? Then, the healer's healing spell landed on them."
"Isn't this because of the environment of the lava cave?"
At a table in the corner of the second floor, a bearded man carrying an axe spoke with a puzzled expression.
The lava cave has an environment of extreme heat, causing continuous damage to all adventurers except those with fire-type abilities.
“You’re right, environmental factors play a role, but that’s not the key point.”
Linda: "Each healing spell performed by the healer occurred after the mages attacked the four-legged fire serpent. In other words... this monster has the characteristic of [damage reflection]!"
Damage reflection is a relatively rare ability among monsters, usually found in crustacean and rock-type monsters.
Everyone looked at the screen again and found that it was indeed as Linda had said: every time the mages cast spells that hit the four-legged fire python, their faces would show pain.
The Four-Legged Flame Python already deals considerable damage, and it even has the [damage reflection] characteristic?
The male elf who asked the question, the bearded warrior, and all the adventurers in the hall showed expressions of surprise.
Counter-damage is a special ability added to secret realm trials to compensate for insufficient monster damage output.
However, the four-legged fire python's output was clearly sufficient, and the level 37 [Steadfast Shield] Audis could only grit its teeth and endure it, further compounded by its damage reflection ability...
The damage from [Reflect Damage] is directly applied to the source core in the spiritual world, which is equivalent to the adventurer's second heart being critically hit.
These adventurers, whose average level was only 5, couldn't help but change their expressions when they looked again at the fiery red python that blotted out the sky on the screen.
No wonder Ebernar has not made a move.
[Mind's Eye] Eberna is best known for his powerful offensive capabilities, but this is a complete weakness when fighting the Four-Legged Flame Serpent.
Abner is highly agile and offensive, but has weak defense.
The consequence of acting rashly was that the four-legged fire python was injured, but Ebernar himself died on the spot!
After watching for a while, Linda slowly said, "If I'm not mistaken, Abner is judging the approximate damage reflection ratio by the damage the mages inflicted on the four-legged fire python."
Ebernar is the main character in this battle, and it's best to be at full strength before encountering the Fire Giant, and not waste a single bit of fighting spirit.
Nightmare-level levels are recorded in the "Encyclopedia of Advanced Secret Realms," which contains 10 sub-levels, with 3 randomly appearing each time you enter.
You must clear all three levels to encounter the final boss, the level 40 epic 5-star monster, the Flame Giant!
Eberna was under a lot of pressure.
The Four-Legged Flame Serpent isn't particularly difficult to defeat, but it's poorly suited to the White Dove Adventurer Group, which consists mostly of fragile characters with high damage output.
For them, this level was among the top three most difficult out of ten!
Linda analyzed the situation methodically.
The advantages, disadvantages, and difficulties of this campaign were explained very thoroughly.
"I see. Even an adventurer like me who has never been to the World Tree can understand it. It truly lives up to its name as the [Eye of True Knowledge]."
"Thanks for clearing up my doubts!"
"Damn it, so it's [damage reflection]? I didn't even realize it..."
A series of exclamations arose.
Hearing these praises, Leah felt a strange sense of pride and couldn't help but steal a glance at Linda. Linda was intently watching the big screen, her hand supporting her chin, her brow slightly furrowed, as if deep in thought.
This wasn't the first time Leah had seen Linda like this, but perhaps her mindset had changed, and she found Linda to be quite handsome.
Noticing that there were many young female adventurers in the lobby on the first floor looking at Linda with longing eyes, Leah narrowed her eyes and silently exuded the aura of a star-level being.
The female adventurers were terrified, wondering what they had done to offend Leah. They all lowered their heads and dared not look at the second floor again.
The Star-Rank Adventurer's prestige was beginning to show, and Lia smiled with satisfaction.
However, Linda's attention was entirely focused on the big screen, and she didn't notice Leah's little actions.
"Thank you for your explanation, senior! If that's the case, then the White Dove Adventure Team is doomed and stuck at this hurdle?" the bearded adventurer said regretfully.
“No, not at all.” Linda stared straight at the screen and said, “The White Dove Adventure Team is equipped with three healers, so they definitely have enough healing spells. They can slowly wear down the four-legged fire python to death. The difficulty lies in what comes next.”
The four-legged fiery python—this is only the first challenge.
There are two more small checkpoints to come.
