Chapter 41 Linda's Problem

Lord Brave?

Linda felt a strange sensation when she heard the World Tree Goddess address her as "Master." Being called "Master" by the Mother of All Things, the Will of the World, seemed incredibly exciting.

He boldly raised his head and looked directly at the mature woman with long, emerald-green hair in front of him.

The World Tree Goddess named Tricia had bare, lovely white feet, and her hands were clasped together in front of her like a graceful and noble woman.

His heart seemed to hold all things, enough to nourish all living beings. A faint smile graced his face, radiating a noble and inviolable aura.

All the words Linda wanted to say were summed up in three words.

It's too big!

Like two ripe pomelos, hanging on a slender fruit tree.

In reality, it would be obviously fake; it's definitely filled with silicone.

But this is another world, so it's normal for it to be this big.

Linda looked away, afraid that her body might do something indecent.

He coughed and got to the point.

"Lady Tricia, I have a question I would like to ask you."

"As the hero chosen by the gods, what will happen if I obtain the Hero's Stone from the World Tree's secret realm again?"

"Please don't worry." Tricia wasn't angry at his rude gaze, and said with a faint smile, "The Hero's Stone cannot cover your profession, but it will turn into magic and enter your body. Please try to obtain as many Hero's Stones as possible to strengthen yourself."

"I see."

Linda nodded, then said somewhat embarrassedly, "Could you offer me more help? As a hero, my current strength is rather weak to defeat the Demon King."

"Hero...are you... asking me for something?"

Tricia opened her mouth in surprise, seemingly not expecting this hero to be so greedy.

Having accepted the exceptional skill of 'the blessing of the World Tree Goddess', they were still not satisfied and made further demands of her.

"Hero, I'm sorry, I can't give you any more power."

"According to the rules between planes, the 100,000 Hero Stones of the future are the greatest help I can give to this world. All I can do is watch over you silently and wish you success as you ascend to the deepest part of the World Tree."

"Yeah."

Linda was a little disappointed. After thinking for a moment, she said, "How about this? I happen to have a goddess here. Can I trade her for you?"

"I believe that you are of greater help to me than that other person in defeating the Demon King."

"Eh...?"

Tricia blinked, paused for a moment, and then made an awkward sound in her throat.

"Hero, this won't do."

For the first time in ten thousand years of being the will of the world, Tricia's calm mind was stirred.

"Can't we exchange them?" Linda said disappointedly. "Then, I have another question that I hope you can answer."

Linda's expression became much more serious.

"Could you tell me where my sister, Lin Xi, is?"

That was his real purpose.

Lin Xi, the younger sister, has disappeared inside the World Tree. As the goddess of the World Tree, Tricia should know something about it.

The other party remained silent for a moment.

"Although I cannot answer your question, I can tell you that the answer you are seeking exists on the fourth level of the World Tree."

"Show your abilities and conquer the World Tree Realm as soon as possible!"

Tricia's figure and voice grew fainter and fainter, disappearing in a gentle breeze.

Linda's consciousness returned to her body, which was located in the Adventurers' Guild Hall.

His heart pounded as the voice of the World Tree Goddess echoed in his mind.

Just as expected, the fourth level of the secret realm indeed contained clues about the sister's disappearance.

The answer she had been searching for for three years seemed to be right before her eyes, and Linda couldn't help but get excited.

Having learned of her sister's whereabouts and the purpose of the Hero's Stone during this conversation, Linda has achieved her goal.

He was much more excited and eagerly awaited the day when he could assemble a team and return to the World Tree.

Just as I was about to leave the statue, Tricia's voice rang in my ears again:

【Hero, there's something I forgot to remind you. Remember, never let anyone know your identity as the Chosen Hero, or it will be detrimental to you.】

"I see."

Linda responded in her mind.

Among the demons of the demon realm, there are many who are skilled in hypnosis and interrogation of souls.

Even if the chosen hero only tells his secrets to the people he trusts most, there is still a risk of exposure.

Therefore, hiding his identity is the safest option for him.

After waiting a while, Tricia's voice did not sound again; she must have left.

Linda returned to Kaphni's side with hot water.

The other person looked at him with a deep, unsettling gaze: "Where did you go?"

"Get hot water?" Linda panicked for no reason, feeling a chill on the back of her neck.

"You met with that guy behind my back, didn't you?" Kafni pointed at the statue of the World Tree Goddess and said angrily, "Don't you understand your own position? Why should the hero I chose pray to someone else? He should be praying to me, the goddess!"

Thankfully it was late at night and there weren't many people around. Even those who heard it dismissed Kaphni's words as drunken ramblings.

Linda quickly poured hot water down her throat to stop Kaphni's mouth from getting wet.

The leaked liquid trickled down Kaphni's fair neck, seeping into the crevice. Drunk and disheveled, she was oblivious to the fact that most of her snow-white shoulder was exposed.

"Pray, let's go home and pray. What if we get discovered by spies from the demon realm if we stay here?"

Linda, covered in sweat, carried the drunken Kaphni on her back.
