Chapter 416 Cold Moon Duke's Contract, Collecting Fire-Resistant Material
So, do you know me?
In the living room, McCarty rested her chin on her hand and said lazily.
She remembered clearly that when she first came in, Linda looked at her with a strange gaze. That expression didn't seem like that of someone looking at a stranger.
Linda replied perfunctorily, "You're so beautiful, I couldn't help but take another look."
McCarty scoffed, "I'm not one of those young girls who've just come of age and can be fooled by your few words. By the way, I actually prefer 'Ultimate Pervert' to your title of 'Eye of Truth'."
“Captain Linda isn’t a pervert at all!” Monica couldn’t help but retort on Linda’s behalf, her cheeks puffed out in anger.
“Children shouldn’t interrupt adults.” McCarty snorted, flicking her finger, and a pink rope formed from magic flew towards Monica.
Monica was immediately bound hand and foot and lay on the ground like a silkworm cocoon.
"Don't make a sound." McCarty glanced at the pale face of the person in front of him and smiled. "My style has always been that the more the prey struggles, the more excited I get. If you don't want to get hurt, shut up and stay to the side. After I finish talking business with your captain, I will release you."
Seeing Tasia's murderous gaze, McCarty said with interest, "What, you want to be tied up and thrown on the ground too?"
"Senior, isn't this going a bit too far?"
Linda frowned.
Linda could roughly guess why McCarty had come.
In theory, the other party should be considered a "friend".
But McCarty's personality was just too awful.
Unlike Vinaro, McCarty didn't wear his arrogance on his sleeve, but his every gesture of disdain was like a series of slaps to the face of the Phoenix Flower Adventurers.
Linda stared coldly at McCarty: "Let go of my players."
"You think you can just release me like that? This instructor isn't that cheap." McCarty's words were cut short when a chill inexplicably ran down his spine.
The last time I had a similar feeling was when the shadowy figure Dai Lian entered the camp and was mocked by her.
As a result, during the graduation assessment, Dai Lian defeated her with a single look in front of everyone in the Ice Abyss, making her a laughing stock in the Ice Abyss.
Now, several years have passed, and all the old students have either graduated or been eliminated. No one remembers the past, and McCarty is gradually emerging from Dalian's shadow.
Seeing Linda's cold gaze, McCarty thought of the guy shrouded in a black trench coat again.
This subtle sense of familiarity...
"Tsk."
McCarty rubbed her temples, her head aching, and lost all interest in teasing Linda and the others. With a flick of her right hand, the pink whip binding Monica disappeared.
"Are you alright?" Linda helped Monica up.
"Mmm." Monica nodded and said softly, "I'm going upstairs. I don't want to cause trouble for the captain."
"Go ahead." Linda rubbed Monica's little head.
Then, he glanced at Macartney, who looked thoughtful. Why was this night elf suddenly so agreeable?
He was a little nervous just now, and he even held the Dark Shadow trial card in his hand.
If McCarty attacks me, I'll have to kill him instantly.
Linda had finally obtained a trial card, and she didn't want to use it up so easily.
"What are you all arguing about! You're disturbing my sleep!"
Just then, a beautiful blonde girl in pajamas, rubbing her eyes, came downstairs.
"Who is this purple roast chicken? Is there a new member in the Phoenix Flower Adventure Team? Let me tell you, the Phoenix Flower Adventure Team has a strict hierarchy. I am the highest-ranking member, followed by Linda. You, the newcomer, are responsible for washing the dishes."
"It's a blond god who just woke up at noon," he said casually.
McCarty intended to teach this slovenly girl a lesson, but looking into her wise and clear eyes, which were like those of a puppy, she had a strange feeling that everything about her seemed to be seen through.
Hidden within those lazy, decadent eyes of the other person was a chilling power that McCartney couldn't articulate, but could only sense through her sixth sense.
"Bloodline? Legendary equipment? Or some kind of forbidden technique?"
McCarty's heart skipped a beat.
The Phoenix Flower Adventure Team is shrouded in mystery.
"Please don't take what this good-for-nothing said to heart," Linda said awkwardly.
“But I’m telling the truth.” Kaphni was reluctantly chased away by Linda.
Whether it was because Kaphni had livened things up or not, Linda felt that McCarty's attitude had improved when they returned to the living room.
"I was just joking with your teammates, you don't mind, do you?"
Linda said with a straight face, "No, not at all."
"So what exactly is the purpose of your visit here?"
"Oh right, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm one of the head instructors of Ice Abyss, you can just call me McCarty. I'm here to convey the will of that lord."
McCarty stood up and cleared his throat.
The playful look on the night elf's face vanished, replaced by a serious and solemn expression. His right hand was placed in front of his chest, and the emblem on his hat, representing the Ice Abyss, emitted a chilling blue light.
"Linda, as the envoy of Lengyue, I invite you to sign a contract."
If you agree, Lord Lengyue will allow you to go to the Moon Treasury, choose any legendary weapon, and receive a ten-star rating.
And, a level 60 [Super Critical Strike] skill book, plus cultivation points.
After saying that, McCarty's expression returned to its usual lazy look, and she spread her hands: "How about it? These are generous conditions that would make even a Light-Rank adventurer ecstatic. Hurry up and sign the contract with your blood!"
