"Give it back to me." Leah's face turned red as she snatched the magic tablet. "It's all your fault. It just happened to fall and stop moving."
That's a lame excuse.
But Ai Ke had no intention of complaining at all; the happier she was just now, the uglier her expression became.
She thought Leah was secretly watching a video, but it turns out Leah was admiring a "couple's photo"?
Aiko felt as if her cheeks were swollen from being baked by the scorching sun, and the red sun fell down, landing right on her nose.
"oh."
Ai Ke walked listlessly into her room, her shoulders drooping.
"It really did break, and it just happened to stop in that spot." Leah was still worried and repeated herself with a stern face.
"I know, I know."
Back in her room, Aiko took out a blue, square-shaped nightcap from under the bed, put it on her head, placed her hands flat on her chest, and lay down quietly.
I wanted to give him a reward, but I just couldn't muster the enthusiasm.
In Eko's mind, the scene of Linda smiling at Leah kept replaying.
The room was quiet, and my thoughts drifted involuntarily.
The images in Aiko's mind began to distort. The backdrop of the 15-layered grassland transformed into a church with stained glass windows. Lia grew into a tall, curvaceous woman, holding hands with Linda and smiling as they accepted everyone's blessings.
"Aiko, for the sake of being teammates for so many years, please accept this magical tablet filled with recordings."
What's inside?
"You'll see when you look, it's a gift from me!"
"#¥¥……#……¥#~~~"
To turn the tide and change the course of events.
Strange noises filled the church.
"Ooh!"
Ai Ke was deathly pale, and she jumped out of bed in a flash.
She quickly looked in the mirror to see if a World Tree was growing on her head.
That kind of thing, absolutely not!
The thought of Linda and Leah in bed together fueled Eiko's jealousy, and she decided to just stuff Leah into a sack and sell her.
Ai Ke bit her finger and paced impatiently around the room.
I accidentally knocked a picture frame off the desk.
The photo frame fell to the ground, triggering a mechanism. The group photo of the Snow Goose Adventure Team on it transformed into a photo of Ai Ke as a child with the Holy Rock Adventure Team.
The little girl in the picture above doesn't have hair that reaches her waist yet. She's wearing androgynous overalls, her hands in her pockets, and she looks at the camera with a reluctant expression.
That day, she had finally completed the grueling training arranged by Rochelle and planned to gather some friends to bully the unlucky slum dwellers. But Rochelle dragged her back, saying he needed her to make promotional posters for the Holy Rock.
The entertainment I looked forward to most each month was ruined. I still remember how angry I was at that time. Looking at Rochelle's huge head, I always wanted to grab a stick and hit him.
Her personality has become much more restrained now, but essentially, she's no different from when she was a child. Anyone who offends her will be resented by her for life, and she'll try every possible way to get revenge. Linda is one such person, as is the arrogant Leah, except that she's never been able to find any dirt on either of them.
They, or rather, the Ai Ke that Xueyan knew, did not actually exist.
Aiko found it somewhat amusing that she had lived with them for three years, wearing a mask called "Holy Mage" and separated by a thin veil of secrecy.
He bent down to pick up the photo frame and stared at it blankly for a long time.
She pressed a hidden switch on the back with her index finger, and the photo turned back into a group photo with Xueyan.
In both photos, Aiko's position is surprisingly the same. The difference is that Xueyan's Aiko has an elegant smile, like a well-bred young lady, while Shengyan's Aiko looks like a rebellious brat with full of aggression.
"I finally understand. I've been making a fatal mistake all along."
Aiko felt as if she had just woken up from a dream.
No matter how hard she tries, she's still Xueyan's old teammate, [Holy Mage] Ai Ke, and Linda's entire impression of her is based on that. Once a first impression is formed, it's very difficult to change it later.
We must break down the old to build a new one, and get Linda to accept the real her!
No one knew the true nature of Eko. Lia thought she was just a somewhat lazy but reliable light mage when she got serious, while Linda thought she was kind and gentle.
In fact, it's all an illusion.
Aiko chuckled self-deprecatingly.
After more than three years together, no one truly knows her.
She's worse than most villains.
She has a terrible personality, is vain, doesn't want to work hard, and only wants to lie down. She has no interest in adventure. If it weren't for her coincident talent as a mage, she would probably be a parasite on society, finding a good man to suck her blood for the rest of her life and deceiving him until he dies.
This is the real her, the "Black-hearted Mage" Eko.
Knowing what she should do, Aiko hesitated, feeling as if ants were crawling on her chest, making her restless and agitated.
If Linda finds out that he's been lying to her, they might not even be able to stay as teammates anymore.
Xueyan will also kick herself out.
No captain would allow a psychologically twisted parasite to remain in the team.
"Oh dear, what should I do?"
Aiko sat dejectedly at her desk.
"If you want something, take action, by any means necessary, and seize every opportunity."
A lazy male voice drifted into my ears from outside.
Aiko's eyelids twitched.
A squinty-eyed girl with long golden ponytail spread her battle aura wings and hovered in the air, saying, "My useless little sister dares to talk back to the Holy Rock Captain, could she be afraid of an ultimate pervert?"
“Bovis, what are you doing here?” Eko stood up in surprise. “Didn’t you go back with Father?”
