Captain Leo's heart skipped a beat.
Is that what you mean by "yes"?
The group of black-armored knights were all in an uproar.
If it weren't for the strict rules of the Knights of Judgment, they would have already lost their composure and started shouting on the spot.
This captain of the Phoenix Flower team must be joking, right?!
Anyone could see that Linda and the Dark Shadow, Dailian, were completely unrelated. One was an excellent citizen of the Empire, the other a monster who only knew how to fight, a walking killing machine. The difference between them was like that between an angel and a demon; even a newborn baby could tell the difference!
"What are you saying, you idiot!" Kaphni grabbed Linda's ear in exasperation. "Explain yourself right now!"
Lulu calmly walked to Linda's side and bowed slightly to Captain Leo and the others: "Sorry, it seems our captain went too far with his joke. He's actually a fan of Dark Shadow and dreams of becoming a powerful adventurer like Dalian."
After saying that, he helped the weak Linda upstairs.
Leo's shocked expression slowly returned. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and muttered, "I knew it. How could a first-level monster be that monster?"
If Linda claimed to be a mysterious luminary, Leo would be skeptical and investigate further. But for Linda to claim to be the Dark Shadow, Dailian, the joke is far too obvious.
Imagine a level 1 random player proudly claiming to have slain a dragon and made it their wife. Anyone with a sound mind wouldn't believe that.
I don't know why that "young lady" would ask such a nonsensical question.
Lulu's back was covered in a layer of cold sweat.
She tried to walk steadily, helping Linda upstairs. Linda's condition was very strange; her body was like a lump of mud, and her pupils were unfocused.
Lulu glanced sideways at the silver-haired woman on the sofa, a faint anger rising in her heart.
"stop."
Suddenly, the silver-haired woman stood up from the sofa.
The soft shout seemed like some kind of magic, instantly freezing Lulu and Linda in their tracks.
Lulu's heart skipped a beat.
What's going on here?!
Her body felt as if it were being crushed by a mountain; even with her level 42 battle qi activated at full power, she couldn't move an inch.
That woman was not some "ordinary person without magic" at all; rather, her magic was so profound that they couldn't even perceive it!
"I'll ask you one more time, are you the Dark Shadow, Dailian?"
"yes."
How can you prove it?
Listening to the two's back-and-forth questioning, the members of the Phoenix Flower team completely lost their composure.
I don't know what's wrong with Linda, she's become an even better-behaved child than a two-year-old who's just finished drinking milk. She answers whatever the woman asks.
Lulu tried to make a sound to wake Linda, but when she opened her mouth, she found that she had fallen into a state of "voicelessness".
Apart from his eyes being able to move, the rest of his body seemed frozen stiff, devoid of any sensation.
Linda's gaze was blank as she slowly replied, "I can't prove it."
"Unable to prove?"
The woman frowned beneath her veil and changed her question: "Where is Philo?"
The other party was referring to the demonic sword [Philo], a demonic sword named after its weapon spirit. Linda instinctively thought.
"have no idea."
"have no idea?"
"Hmm, I don't know."
The woman fell silent again.
Why are you acting like this?
"have no idea."
Are you really Dai Lian?
"yes."
"Can't prove anything, yet still think you are?"
"right."
I don't believe it.
A flash of anger crossed the woman's eyes.
Could it be that the other party is really just a fan of Shadow of Darkness, just like the werewolf girl said?
So why did she make this long journey?
Her time is incredibly precious; every second means a massive amount of purple gold coins!
Swoosh.
The woman flicked her finger, and a sharp, azure aura shot towards Linda.
If Linda wasn't lying, then after three years, she should have at least level 80, the power of a Law-level being.
In the face of life and death, she didn't believe Linda could keep up the act.
In an instant, the drowsiness disappeared.
A chilling sensation ran through Linda's heart.
The spell that had been cast over him was finally lifted!
As soon as Lin Da regained consciousness, he saw a diamond-shaped azure battle aura shooting towards his chest.
This battle aura was only the size of a palm, but the magical fluctuations it contained were terrifying, and it was definitely not something that a Moon-rank cultivator could withstand.
While pondering, Linda fully activated her magic circuits, striving to avoid vital points. A sliver of inexplicable hope lingered in her heart; this despicable silver-haired woman was merely testing her, and had no reason to kill an imperial citizen.
Pfft!
Linda's pupils constricted slightly.
A large spray of blood erupted from his chest.
Unable to feel any pain, Linda was thrown backward by the enormous impact and crashed into the wall.
There was a bloody hole the size of a bowl in the center of his chest.
"team leader--"
"Waaaaah, Captain!"
"Linda!"
My ears were filled with the anxious voices of my teammates.
Linda's eyelids grew heavier and heavier.
…
I don't know how much time has passed.
Ooh!
Like someone holding their breath to the limit, Linda suddenly woke up, forcefully opening and closing her lungs to inhale the fresh air in the living room.
"Captain, what's wrong? Why did you suddenly fall asleep? Waaaaah!" Monica cried excitedly when she saw him wake up.
The other team members also breathed a sigh of relief, each one feeling a great weight lifted from their shoulders.
Lulu slumped on the sofa, rubbing her temples, her eyes red and swollen.
