Linda: "Besides Tagore, does anyone else have any other ideas?"
"Why are you ignoring me?" Tego asked sullenly.
Monica: "Could it be fear? Children cry when they wake up, right? I read that in a book."
Anna said with a grin, "Maybe he misses his mom."
Tasia bent down and looked at the little girl for a while, then hesitated and said, "Do you want someone to hold her?"
The team members each had their own explanation.
Linda said to Anna, "Try holding her."
As the team's most defensively capable member, Anna stepped forward without hesitation.
"Come here, let your big sister give you a hug. You're so soft and comfortable."
"Waaaaah!"
Seeing Anna's chest, which was even smaller than a steamed bun, the little girl cried even louder.
Anna's face was ashen.
"Captain, you might be the only one who can do this. Some wild animals will mistake the first thing they see for their parents, and they might even mistake you for their mother."
"Really?" Linda asked, half believing it.
He squatted in front of the stone coffin, touched the little girl with his finger, and muttered to himself, "Although I don't know what your original name was, I'll call you Haibi for now. It's a transliteration of 'snake' in Elvish."
"Hehehe." Perhaps it was because of the name she received, the little girl stopped crying and started laughing. She grabbed Linda's finger with her soft white hand and licked it like a wild animal cub.
I feel that my family is very close to me.
Just as Linda was about to pat Haibi's little head, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her fingertip, as if she had been bitten by an ant. Frowning, she looked down and saw Haibi baring its sharp little fangs, biting its own finger, and sucking the blood that flowed out.
Although the wound was small, Linda felt as if all her energy had been drained from her body. Her strength was suddenly gone as her energy burst out of that small hole!
"team leader!"
Anna's expression changed, and she quickly pushed Haiby away, asking worriedly, "Are you alright?"
"I feel a little dizzy, but it should be nothing serious." Linda said breathlessly, taking out a bottle of green energy potion and drinking it.
Everyone looked at Haibi warily.
After Anna pushed him out, the little guy silently got up, crawling on all fours, a hint of coldness in his purple eyes.
She raised her hand, and a golden fist of the same shape materialized in the air.
The fist, made of magic, was as big as a water tank and exuded an astonishing aura.
It is the power of the Light Rank: Hand of the Void!
To solidify the air with battle aura or magic and use it for one's own purposes.
It consumes little energy but has considerable power, comparable to a top-tier Moon-level ultimate skill.
Bang!
The golden fist slammed towards Anna, and a gust of wind blew in her face, blowing away the floor tiles beneath her feet.
"Anna!"
Linda shielded herself from the strong wind with her arm and shouted urgently.
Anna was sent flying backward, her black armor shattering instantly and embedding itself in the stone wall.
Swish swish swish!
The group pointed their weapons at Haibi.
"Intermediate treatment!"
Linda's longsword glowed with an emerald green light, and a beam of light shot towards Anna.
Anna's complexion improved after her health increased by 12,000.
Taigo said nervously, "Give me another shield, I'll play forward."
"No!" Anna climbed out of the stone wall, staring at the angry purple-haired girl, and said, "If we fight, apart from Linda, we'll all probably die!"
"What do you mean by that?" Linda asked, puzzled. Why was Anna so sure that she would be alright?
Anna spoke rapidly: "She attacked me, probably just because I pushed her. I suspect she's just a mentally challenged child."
What we need to do is not to be her enemy, but to appease her. If used properly, she can be used as a pet!
Captain, have you ever heard of blood oaths?
Linda was taken aback. Anna was referring to Haibi drinking her blood earlier?
But the little guy is a living, breathing person, not a prop.
"Don't make a move yet, let me try."
Just to be on the safe side, Linda put on a new Emerald Shield and then hid the trial card in her sleeve.
Upon seeing Linda approach, Haibi's angry expression vanished instantly, a stark contrast to her behavior towards Anna. Her change of heart was as swift as a brazen villain discovering that the person they'd offended was actually a legendary adventurer.
The little guy crawled toward Linda with babbling sounds, his extremely long purple hair trailing on the ground, traces of blood from sucking Linda still lingering at the corners of his mouth, his lips a bewitching, bright red.
With the appearance of a five or six-year-old, the long hair of a twenty or thirty-year-old, and the mind of an infant, Linda had never seen such a strange person.
When Haibi sticks out her tongue to lick her lips, Linda always finds a clue—her tongue is thin and long, sticking out more than ten centimeters!
This person is definitely not normal!
Linda felt a chill run down her spine and wanted to pull her hand back. But seeing Haibi's expectant eyes, she wondered if she would anger the little monster if she withdrew.
He wanted to save money on trial cards whenever possible, and he didn't want to waste them on something like this.
This is a trial with a recommended level of only 46; perhaps Haibi is part of the "reward items." Linda comforted herself.
He steeled himself and hugged Haibi.
The little guy chuckled happily, rubbing his cheek against Linda's chest and sticking out his tongue to lick his neck. It was hard to tell if this was a sign of affection or if he was simply lusting after him.
Anna curiously leaned closer, only to see Haibi pout, raise her hand, and conjure a golden fist in the air.
"Stop!" Linda noticed in time and shouted sternly. At this moment, he was not very confident, so he moved the trial card from his sleeve to his palm.
"Waaah." Haibi shrank her neck, withdrew her little hand, and the golden fist disappeared.
Linda felt a sense of relief. It was hard to say whether she was the master or not, but Haibi should be able to obey his orders to a certain extent.
