Chapter 515 The Four Commanders, Linda Makes Her Appearance

On a bright and sunny morning, the meditation square was covered in snow. The willows and flowers planted along the edge were dressed in silver, and the green leaves shook off the snow in the breeze, exuding vitality.

"Hahaha, it's done! I've done it! The first fragment of the magic law has finally been formed!"

Suddenly, a man with short brown hair and freckles on his face jumped up in ecstasy.

Everyone opened their eyes in surprise.

In the palm of the freckled man's hand was a floating white rhombus-shaped fragment.

Upon closer inspection, the fragments are composed of countless magical runes.

"I envy you. Just condensing the first fragment means you've secured your position at the Light Rank. But it takes a full ten fragments to have any hope of advancing to the Saint Rank. How long would that take?"

A bird-man with white feathers sighed, "I've been in the Ice Abyss for a year, and I haven't condensed a single fragment of law. It seems I have no hope."

"Keep it up, bro! I only recently comprehended my first fragment of a law. Once you take the first step, the rest will be quick."

A man dressed in a scholar's robe with short blond hair laughed heartily, "As long as we work even harder, breaking through to the Saint rank is not without hope!"

The man's name is Wen Qi, and he is from Xuanfeng City.

A year and a half ago, he helped the Phoenix Flower rescue Monica and made a promise with Linda to meet again in Azure City.

However, so much time has passed that Wenqi has long forgotten about what happened back then.

That said, the Ice Abyss is indeed powerful. Wen Qi thought his chances of breaking through to the Light Rank were slim, but his potential was repeatedly stimulated in this special cold environment. Last month, he accumulated enough points to apply to his faction to enter the B-rank training room.

Hard work pays off. After a year and a half, Wen Qi finally succeeded in condensing his first fragment of the Magic Law!

Although the laws of magic are the most basic and easiest to understand, they have one advantage: they can be converted into other laws along the way.

This is a tremendous benefit for ordinary light-level beings like Wenqi.

Unlike those monstrous geniuses who comprehend their own laws early on—such as Bai Luo's "Torrent Law" and Lia, the leader of the White Dove Alliance, whose "Spark Law"—they could only begin with the laws of magic, gradually finding their own path.

Upon hearing this, the birdman adventurer sighed again: "You make it sound nice, but you've only managed to condense two fragments of the law."

Even if you're lucky enough to break through levels in the World Tree and advance to level 59, it's impossible to cross the threshold from the Light Rank to the Saint Rank without condensing 10 Law Fragments.

There is no hope, absolutely no hope!

Level 51 is my limit. I'm applying to leave Ice Abyss; staying is just a waste of time.

Seeing the birdman mage leave dejectedly with his shoulders drooping, Wenqi opened his mouth but said nothing.

Even with the special environment of the Ice Abyss, many people still cannot perceive the myriad laws of the void.

Only by absorbing the runes of the law and inscribing them into one's spiritual world can one be said to have mastered the first fragment of the law.

But the rules are like an obscure and difficult book; the further you go, the more difficult the content becomes.

Wenqi currently possesses two. The third remains a long way off.

"Those freaks with ten-star ratings basically comprehended 10 or even 11 Law Fragments before level 59. It's really infuriating to compare myself to them. Why have I only managed to condense 2 despite all my efforts? Is this my limit?"

As Wenqi pondered the matter, he became somewhat disheartened.

In my meditation, it was morning before I knew it.

"Huh, those are the three leaders of the Dark Rose?"

Hearing the whispers around him, Wenqi opened his eyes.

The leader of the Dark Rose? What are they doing here?

Those sitting on the ground in the square, practicing in the open air, are basically from the lowest levels of the Ice Abyss.

The three leaders of Dark Rose are all ten-star rated, can use the snow house at will, and can also spend cultivation points to have a Saint-level commander give them a private lesson.

The appearance of such people in the square is like nobles going to the slums.

"Get out of the way, you poor wretches! Dark Rose has requisitioned this area!"

A rat dressed in black adventurer's clothes, with big ears, puffed out its whiskers and glared at Wenqi and the others, saying, "Get out of here! Do you want to be enemies of Dark Rose?"

Upon hearing this, Wen Qi's expression changed, and he obediently stepped aside.

The others were the same, secretly gritting their teeth, daring not to speak out against their anger.

The Dark Rose is a large faction that they, as lower-level Light Rank individuals, cannot afford to offend.

Wenqi retreated to the very edge of the training square and looked out into the distance. He saw the rat fawningly bringing over a chair and inviting the leader of the Dark Rose to sit down.

Oren, Alexander, and Mi San, these three well-known figures from the Ice Abyss, were all present.

Wenqi was startled; it seemed something big was about to happen.

With a rumble, accompanied by a tremor, the water mage of Dark Rose chanted a spell, solidifying a square ice and snow platform in the middle of the square.

A short while later, a woman with short purple hair, a wasp waist, and a curvy bottom, wearing a leather jacket, came to the square.

She took a document from the mouse, glanced at it, and nodded slightly.

"That's... Lady McCarty, who was promoted to Commander-in-Chief last month! She's here, probably as a notary, right?"

A blonde elf with braided hair and pointed ears said, "I understand. It must be a bet between the Dark Rose and the White Dove, with Lady Macartney overseeing its execution!"

Wenqi blinked: "What's going on? It seems like everyone knows about this?"

Only after inquiring did I learn that Dark Rose and White Dove had jointly wagered on three A-grade training rooms and 30,000 points.

Wenqi clicked his tongue in amazement. 30,000 points—how many monster-hunting quests would one have to complete to earn that?
