Chapter 554 Sisters

Boom!

Rumble! Rumble!

Linda didn't care about anything else; she used as much power as she could.

This "battle" will determine whether the Secret Realm will gain another level 95 veteran legend.

He has many companions behind him.

It's as if I can see the dead cats, dogs, cows, and horses, all working together to place their hands on their backs.

Linda recalled a comic book she had read before, in which the protagonist, while fighting the final villain, shouted with his companions, "My drill is a drill that can pierce the sky!"

My own drill bit must be pretty good too.

"No, no! Let me go, you monster! Waaaaah!"

The Crescent Moon Knight, who had dedicated his life to spiritual practice, had never experienced anything like this before, and his face turned deathly pale.

"It's too late to beg for mercy now!"

Linda sneered: "This attack is for Evelyn!"

This attack was aimed at the small animals caught in the crossfire!

Although the citizens had entered the shelters in advance and no one was injured or killed, many lives were still lost because of you.

You still have the nerve to beg for mercy.

Did you give them a chance to beg for mercy?

This strike is for the Azure Tree!

The once lush World Tree has become a bare tree because of your battle.

Linda roared as he activated the purification, his body drenched in sweat, feeling thoroughly refreshed.

But I felt an unprecedented sense of exhilaration!

When purifying Monica and the others, they were all his beloved teammates, and he was reluctant to use his full strength, holding back seven-tenths of his power.

It's a different story when facing the villainous witch, the Crescent Moon Knight.

Linda has as much power as she has, and she uses as much power as she can.

Behold my dragon strike!

"No, please, stop! My head is going to break!"

Black mist billowed out from the Crescent Knight's body. She sensed the Demon King was leaving, becoming a pitiful, abandoned figure.

Linda showed no sympathy and buried herself in her work.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

...

The earthquake-like noise lasted for a full two hours.

During this time, Evelyn, who was waiting outside, also sensed that something was wrong.

However, after considering the character of the Dark Shadow, she forcibly suppressed these doubts in her heart.

Linda also said that the purification process is special, and if she investigates it, all previous efforts will be in vain, and the two people in the house will be put in danger.

Another hour passed, and it got dark.

Evelyn used her magic to conjure a phantom moon lamp, its bright light illuminating the surroundings.

Why hasn't it come out yet?

It's been too long.

Did the purification fail?

Evelyn was getting impatient and was about to lose her patience.

Snap!

The door to the house was opened.

"How is Taffy?"

Evelyn vanished in a flash and appeared in front of Linda.

Lia and the others looked at Linda with expectant expressions.

If the purification is successful, the Secret Realm Continent will gain another legendary combatant.

With this shift in momentum, they managed to recover many of their disadvantages.

A few who knew the inside story, Tasia and Monica, looked awkward. Monica's face was flushed, and she was stealing glances at Linda in a certain place.

"I have successfully completed my mission."

Linda rubbed her lower back and smiled, "Former Imperial Knight Commander Taff has returned!"

Just as I finished speaking, a cold gust of wind brushed past me.

Evelyn disappeared again, having entered a private residence.

"Has that Crescent Knight really turned into a good person? I want to go and see too!" Leah followed Evelyn inside.

"Cough cough."

Linda grabbed Leah's arm: "Let them be alone for a while."

As outsiders, we can't possibly understand how these sisters feel.

My sister has finally come back; she must have a lot to say.

Everyone pressed their ears against the door to eavesdrop.

“Taff, you…”

Evelyn spoke first, unsure of what to say to her unfamiliar older sister.

"sorry."

"Why did you make a contract with the Demon King? I... I can't forgive you for what you did."

Evelyn's voice was filled with pain and self-blame: "It's my fault for not keeping a good eye on you. After you became the captain of the Imperial Knights, I thought you had matured and no longer needed my care."

"Evelyn, that's why I hate you."

In the bedroom, the Crescent Knight was distraught, burying himself in the blankets.

The sheets were soaked with sweat, and strands of silver hair clung messily to her face and the corners of her mouth. The bedroom was also filled with an indescribable smell.

Evelyn frowned, assuming it was just a residue left over from the purification process and related to the Demon King's corruption, without giving it much thought.

The Crescent Knight, like a succubus after being toyed with by a paladin, huddled in a corner, her head hanging low with a dazed look in her eyes.

She told a story about herself.

Evelyn didn't interrupt her, and sat quietly on the edge of the bed.

The two people's identical silver hair cast fragmented silhouettes under the dim light of the desk lamp.

The story of the Crescent Moon Knight is simple.

Once upon a time, there were two sisters living in a slum. They had loving parents and lived a simple but happy life, though not wealthy.

As far back as I can remember, the younger sister has always been ahead of her older sister, whether it was wielding a wooden sword or reciting textbook knowledge, she was always far ahead of her.

One night, her parents were killed by demons.

The two people, trembling in the closet, witnessed the whole thing.

The younger sister grew up quickly, almost like a little adult, taking care of her older sister's basic needs and protecting her from other children in the slum.

The older sister tried to help her younger sister, but while collecting trash, she cut her ankle on scrap metal. To treat the injury, the two of them spent all the copper coins they had saved.
