Chapter 74 Orc Thugs Come to Collect Debts

Based on the available information, we know that the owner of the villa was an extreme social phobia and a poor man who made a living by making handmade dolls. The food he ate was probably rotten cabbage and the like.

Could she possibly refuse such a sumptuous roast meat meal that would make even adventurers envious?

Eating meat is about satisfying one's immediate needs, while buying her dolls at high prices represents a blueprint for the future.

While grilling the meat, Linda loudly touted the benefits of joining her adventure team:

"Join the Phoenix Tail Flower, guaranteed advancement to the tenth level of the World Tree, stable advancement to the thirtieth level within three years, high salary and benefits, base salary of one hundred gold, additional pay for entering secret realms;"

"Equipment, lodging, and meals are all provided, along with return scrolls; all you need to do is obey the captain's orders."

"Join the team now and get ten days of luxury meals, a luxurious bed, and a luxurious carriage!"

A series of tempting, devilish whispers, mixed with the mouthwatering aroma of roasted meat, drifted through the cracks in the window and into Monica's nose and ears.

She hadn't eaten a proper meal in over a month. The smell made her drool like an elven lady hypnotized by orcs, and she walked foolishly to the window.

"Monica wants to eat barbecue."

A pair of excessively pale little hands pressed against the window latch.

Monica was about to be lured out.

Just then, an untimely, stern shout rang out: "You little brat, when are you going to pay back the debt you owe our Mandala Gold Shop?!"

"Hey, big brother, what a coincidence! That's the guy who beat up my old ox! You absolutely have to let him taste some good juice!"

"He's the one who bullied my little brother? Fuck! Today I, Luke, will teach him a lesson he won't forget!"

Outside the small villa.

Three orcs arrived, dressed in black leather jackets, carrying wooden sticks on their shoulders, and looking like thugs.

Leading the group was Luke, a boar-man with large tusks. His small eyes held a savage glint as he cruelly weighed a wooden stick in his hand and glared menacingly at Linda in front of the grill.

Then, upon seeing Kaphni, Luke the Boarman was stunned.

Kafni, squatting in front of the window fanning herself with a palm leaf fan, had her big butt sticking out and her long, flawless white legs under her shorts. Her large, beautiful breasts rested softly on her knees, making the three orc brothers almost cry with envy!

Luke the Boarman, enter battle stance on the spot!

"Old ox, old donkey, surround them, don't let them escape!"

Luke grinned as he approached the composed Linda and said mockingly, "You human have quite the nerve. You've got the nerve to kneel down and beg for mercy before me, 'Debt Collector' Luke?"

Linda finally looked up at Luke.

Kaphni just told him that this boarman's aura level is around 8, only one level higher than his.

However, as a hero who can restore health, Linda's base stats are twice that of an ordinary orc. Let alone a single boar like Luke, even a whole cartload of boars might not be a match for him.

"Before I beat you up, let me ask you what business you have with the owner of this house?" Lin Da said politely, while turning the monster meat over and over in his hands.

Luke's forehead veins bulged, and he laughed angrily: "Fine, I'll let you die knowing why today. The owner of this house owes my Mandala Gold Shop 10 gold coins. With interest compounded, she still owes us 97 gold coins after a year. If she can't pay today, this house will belong to our Mandala Gold Shop."

"The highest legal interest rate in the Empire is 24%, right? Anything exceeding that is considered an illegal loan and doesn't have to be repaid," Linda said.

“Then you’re wrong.” Luke sneered, “What we lent her was that ‘flyer.’ The flyer’s initial value was 10 gold coins, but now it’s worth 127 gold coins. Not a single copper less!”

"Oh, I see. The Mandala family is really despicable, always skirting the edges of imperial law."

Linda placed the roasted monster meat on a plate, stretched his aching shoulders, and heard a cracking sound coming from his body. He smiled at the boarman Luke: "I'm ready, let's begin."

"Arrogance, skill, charge forward like a pig!"

Luke's expression changed drastically. In Red Peach City, which adventurer would dare to disrespect "Debt Collector King" Luke?

A pair of wild boar tusks were aimed at Linda, and she charged straight at him!

Linda stood still with her arms crossed, radiating a purple magical light.

These rays of light transformed into a set of semi-illusory, semi-solid spiked armor, like a sea urchin.

Poison-based skill, Thorn Armor, increases defense by 30% and reflects 10% of the damage back to the attacker!

Among the major attributes, defense and magic defense are the rarest. If the defense attribute exceeds the opponent's attack, then, unless a fatal blow is dealt to the vital point, at most only 1 point of health will be lost.

Linda's base defense is 24, with an additional 1 from the leather armor underneath her clothes. After being boosted by the Thorn Armor skill, her defense reaches 32.

The level 8 boarman Luke has a base attack of at most 50 and his equipment is quite meager. He's probably a high-ranking henchman of the Mandala family, with an attack of 60.

Luke crashed headfirst into him, and he stood rooted to the spot, feeling as if a rapidly running cat had nudged him in the stomach.

It doesn't hurt, but it does hurt a little; if I say it hurts, I'll seem too delicate.

A pale red "-40" appeared above Linda's head, while his total health points were 1880.

It's like a long, red health bar that lost a tiny bit, about the size of a noodle.

"Ouch!"

Luke was dizzy from the impact and also suffered some of the damage reflected back. He was dazed and clutched his head.

Linda, however, had a disdainful smile on her face and beckoned with her finger.

This left Luke's old bull and old donkey completely dumbfounded.
