Chapter 25 Space Shelter 2

Chapter 25 Space Shelter 2

The room was surrounded by light grey walls and soft lights hung from the ceiling.

The floor was covered in plush carpet, and on one side of the room was a group of comfy couches and a couple of beds, and on the other side was a small kitchen area.

Xiao Ran's eyes widened, and he subconsciously reached for the weapon at his waist.

"Where is this? How did we get here?" Xiao Ran's voice was hoarse, his eyes full of vigilance and disbelief.

Tintin looked around in amazement, then shouted excitedly: "Wow! How magical! It's so beautiful here!"

Lin Che's reaction was relatively calm. He nodded slightly, as if he had expected all this. "Space-related ability, SSS level."

Su Wanqing opened her eyes with a trace of fatigue on her face: "Welcome to my space. Here, we are safe for the time being. The mutants outside cannot enter, nor can they sense our existence."

"What on earth is this?" Xiao Ran still couldn't believe his eyes. "Some kind of high-tech device? Or an illusion?"

"Neither," Su Wanqing walked to the kitchen area and took out a few bottles of water from the refrigerator. "This is my ability, a space independent of reality, maintained by my energy."

She handed water to everyone and took out a medical kit from a cabinet: "Now, let me take a good look at your wound."

Xiao Ran hesitated for a moment, and finally sat down on the sofa and let Su Wanqing check his arm.

Tintin explored around curiously, full of curiosity about this magical space.

"Are you a space-type ability user?" Xiao Ran asked, frowning. "I've heard of this kind of ability, but I've never seen a true space-type one. They should be the rarest."

"Yes, space department." Su Wanqing answered briefly, concentrating on untying the bandage on Xiao Ran's arm.

When the bandages were removed and the wound was exposed to the air, her expression became more serious.

The edges of the wound had begun to turn red and swollen, showing clear signs of infection.

"This is more serious than I thought." She took out antibiotics and disinfectant from the medical kit. "You need injectable antibiotics. Oral antibiotics may not be enough."

Xiao Ran nodded, with a hint of admiration in his eyes: "No wonder the institute is so interested in you. Space-related psychics are almost legendary."

"The institute is interested in any person with special abilities." Su Wanqing responded simply, while expertly injecting antibiotics into Xiao Ran. "They don't care what type it is, as long as they can use it."

Lin Che stood aside, watching all this with complicated eyes. His fingers gently stroked the chip behind his neck, thinking.

"How long can this space last?" Lin Che suddenly asked.

Su Wanqing raised her head and looked at Lin Che. "It depends on my energy and the pressure from the outside world. Generally, it takes a few hours to a day. But every time I use it, it consumes my energy."

Ding Ding ran back from the other end of the room, holding a stuffed toy in his hand: "Sister, there are so many fun things here! Can I play with them?"

Su Wanqing smiled at her: "Of course, you can play with everything here. Are you hungry? There is food in the refrigerator."

Ding Ding nodded excitedly and ran to the kitchen area. Su Wanqing turned back to Xiao Ran's wound and began to clean it carefully.

"Are your spatial abilities innate?" Xiao Ran asked in a low voice with a hint of curiosity.

Su Wanqing’s hand paused for a moment, then continued to work: “Not exactly. This is a long story, and now is not the time to tell it.”

She finished cleaning and disinfecting the wound and rebandaged it. "The antibiotics will take effect soon, but you need to rest."

Xiao Ran nodded, leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes. The drug seemed to have taken effect, and his expression became more relaxed.

Lin Che walked to the window and was surprised to find that outside the window was a blue sky with white clouds, which was completely different from the ruins outside: "This space is completely independent?"

"Yes, but it's not completely isolated from the outside world." Su Wanqing walked to his side, "We can go back, but it's not safe now."

Lin Che was silent for a moment: "What should we do next?"

"First, let Xiao Ran recover his strength." Su Wanqing said with determination in her voice, "Then, we need to find a safer place. This space cannot be maintained for a long time, especially the more people there are, the greater the consumption."

Lin Che thought for a while: "I know a place that might be safer."

Su Wanqing raised her eyebrows: "Where?"

"An abandoned branch of the research institute, about ten kilometers northeast of the city."

Lin Che whispered, his eyes dimming, "It was once a place for preliminary experiments, but was later abandoned due to an accident. But its safety system should still be functioning and can block most mutants."

"But there may be surveillance from the research institute there." Su Wanqing pointed out, with a hint of vigilance in her eyes.

Lin Che shook her head. “After the accident, this branch was completely deleted from the institute’s network. They didn’t want to leave any traces.”

"What accident?" Su Wanqing keenly grasped the key point.

Lin Che's expression turned painful, and he held his head with both hands: "I don't remember. Every time I try to recall, the inhibitor is triggered."

The latest novel is published first on Liu9shuba!

Su Wanqing didn't ask any more questions, but just patted his shoulder gently: "Okay, we can consider that place. But first, we all need to rest."

Ding Ding walked back from the kitchen area, holding a sandwich in his hand and jam on the corner of his mouth: "Sister, the food here is delicious!"

Su Wanqing smiled and wiped the jam from the corner of her mouth: "Eat slowly, don't choke."

Ding Ding nodded, sat obediently on the carpet, and ate his sandwich in small bites.

Her eyes still looked around from time to time, full of curiosity about this magical space.

Xiao Ran opened his eyes and looked at this scene, with a complicated expression on his face: "Are we really going to the shelter?"

Su Wanqing looked at him: "Do you have any other ideas?"

"The shelter means rules and restrictions." Xiao Ran said in a low voice, "It means we might be discovered. If someone from the institute is there."

"But Ding Ding needs to find her mother." Su Wanqing reminded.

Xiao Ran nodded, his eyes falling on Ding Ding who was concentrating on eating a sandwich: "I know. Maybe we can scout first and go in after confirming it is safe. Or we can find a way to send Ding Ding in, and we won't go in ourselves."

Lin Che suddenly covered her head with her hands, her expression turned painful: “Ah!”

Su Wanqing and Xiao Ran immediately became alert. Ding Ding also stopped chewing and looked at Lin Che in horror.

"What's wrong?" Su Wanqing walked quickly to Lin Che's side.

Lin Che's breathing became rapid, and cold sweat broke out on his face: "The suppressor is resisting. I feel that Aze is about to come out."

Su Wanqing supported him: "Do you need salt?"

Lin Che shook her head and grabbed Su Wanqing's arm painfully: "No, it's not the salt that's the problem now. It's the memory that's breaking through the inhibitor."
