Chapter 169 Military Encirclement
Su Wanqing sat in a corner of the hall and rechecked the list in her hand.
She received the last set of reports and manually cancelled all communication passwords, leaving only the internal loop.
Lin Che sent the girl with the childlike voice to the spare medical kit and asked in a low voice: "Do you want to wake Ye up? He can run faster."
Su Wanqing pressed the timer on her wrist twice without looking up: "Not for now, it's not the most urgent time yet."
Lin Che raised an eyebrow, stuffed a few syringes tightly into the girl's small backpack, and wrapped his coat around her shoulders.
The girl said nothing and just watched him busy quietly.
At three o'clock in the morning, Xiao Ran rushed backwards from the corridor to the hall and shouted in a low voice: "The southeast alarm has been activated. At least three teams have been signaled to approach from the abandoned entrances in the west and north. The exits are blocked and the surrounding terrain is under control."
Lu Zhao stared at the screen, lines of code slid past quickly: "The remaining ventilation wells on the south side were disconnected just now. The peripheral infrared was also cut off. The action is very fierce."
Xiao Ran took off his hat, his face hardened, "I probed the south, and found someone watching the disguised exit. It wasn't like an ordinary patrol, it was a regular tactical team in action."
Su Wanqing's eyelids twitched, and without further ado, she took out the backup plan book.
"The migration plan has been activated on the spot. All teams are ready to enter the underground waterway within fifteen minutes."
Lin Che looked at the girl with a childish voice and whispered, "No one can be left behind tonight. You stay closest to me."
Xiao Ran nodded: "The explosion point is ready. As soon as the order is given, I will detonate them in sequence to give you as much space as possible."
Lu Zhao connected the data terminal to an external hard drive, quickly copied the latest data, and then deleted the original traces: "Backup is enabled, two different lines, one with me, one for Lin Che, no internet connection allowed."
Xiao Ran pulled up the spare power box, stuffed the three booby traps into his shoulder bag, and tied the shoulder straps tight against his back.
He touched the detonator button in his trouser pocket, turned around and checked it twice more: "Wait for me to make the first signal and then move. Don't join in the fun."
Su Wanqing glanced around, glanced at Xiao Ran and Lin Che, and waved at Lu Zhao.
"Your respective posts. Use the midnight file for the serial number and password, don't make any mistakes."
Lin Che calmly put his hand into the girl's palm and let her play with the pendant.
She shrank her neck, looked at him and nodded.
The atmosphere became increasingly tense. Outside, there were sounds of orderly footsteps and the rumble of approaching armored vehicles, and then the loudspeaker sounded.
"I am Major General Fang. Doctor Zheng has handed over the evidence that you are harboring rebels. Please immediately lay down your arms, surrender unconditionally, and hand over the special experimental subject. Otherwise, you will bear the consequences at your own risk!"
No one spoke in the hall, only the low hum of computer motherboards and rapid breathing could be heard.
As Xiao Ran pressed the blasting fuse into the base, he whispered, "I'll block the south side and place half a set of smoke bombs and signal sources to draw their attention over there."
Su Wanqing said straightforwardly: "The girl, Lin Che, and Lu Zhao will lead the charge, the middle lane will follow the plan, and I will be the last one."
Lin Che looked at the source of the sound and his eyes fell on the girl. He pulled the blanket over and said to her, "Hold on to me and don't run around. There is no place for you here."
Lu Zhao set the screens of all devices to suspended state and even disconnected all peripherals.
"Communications are completely shut down. Wait for the signal."
Xiao Ran had already sneaked into the southern passage. He sent out a short light signal and casually threw out the first set of bomb points.
The entire west wing of the base was rumbled with a loud bang, smoke swept the stairs, and alarms and automatic blocking devices of protective doors sounded one after another.
Lin Che pulled the girl with the childish voice and stuffed her into the safest position in the queue, while his other hand tightly grasped the belt around the girl's waist.
A few minutes later, Xiao Ran detonated two sets of smoke bombs in succession. All the fake target programs were uploaded to the monitoring host. The on-site images presented the illusion that the team was breaking out of the warehouse on the north side.
Su Wanqing remembered the division of labor and used gestures to instruct everyone to line up in order.
She walked to the entrance to the underground sewer bunker area, entered two sets of passwords, and pushed open the final passage door.
The underground sewer was cold and cramped, and the sound of water kicked up by the soles of shoes mixed with the frightened gasps.
Lin Che pulled the girl close to him, occasionally lowering his head and asking, "Can you still walk?"
The girl nodded. Her voice was thin, and she suddenly approached Su Wanqing calmly: "Teacher, actually, there is a house that looks like a castle in the suburbs. I saw it a long time ago. It's very safe."
Su Wanqing paused for a moment and asked, "Where?"
The girl bit her lip and spoke slowly: "In the mountains in the northwest, along the old road next to the reservoir, through three tunnels, and then go up along the dense trees. It's hidden there. There is a yellow stone sign on the other side of the mountain, and there is an abandoned parking lot."
Su Wanqing read these sentences twice and memorized them silently. She thought about it, how could this girl describe it so clearly when she had never left the base?
As she led the way, her heart gradually sank.
Lu Zhao was carrying a heavy bag. He shouted as he moved, "Hurry up. The satellite interference will only last for one hour. Everyone, keep up."
Xiao Ran threw a timed signal flare from a distance and placed the remaining fake targets one by one into the waterway branch line.
He turned his head and lowered his voice: "There is a double port at the front. I will put all the signal sources there. You can figure out the rest by yourselves."
Major General Fang's loudspeaker reached the subway shaft: "You have been surrounded. The underground system is completely blocked, no one can escape. Ultimatum, hand over the girl immediately!"
Su Wanqing ignored it and turned from the original main channel to the right branch waterway.
Lin Che took out a blocker and stuffed it into the mud. He looked back and said, "They will block that way. Come on, follow me."
The group moved according to the secret signal. On the top of the waterway, there were the sounds of landslides and explosions, and occasionally the noise of a charge in the distance.
Lu Zhao took a breath of water and leaned against the wall again, moving forward along the dim corridor. "There is an old inspection shaft thirty meters to the left. You can get out from there."
Xiao Ran has detonated all the fingerprint traps and spare directional mines.
He turned around and gestured to Su Wanqing. The team quickly passed the well and continued to advance along the branching waterway.
The bombing points continued to delay the military offensive, and in the smoke and false signals, the army was divided into three groups and all were led to the staggered exits.
The main team searched for the fake target and was completely unaware that the real team had already broken through the defense line from underground.
All the team members followed, and only Xiao Ran was slightly injured. He successfully covered the rear of the team, and all the booby traps had been used up.
It was still dark outside. Su Wanqing looked back for the last time and whispered, "The migration plan is complete and we are entering the next stage."
The girl with a childish voice reached out and grabbed Su Wanqing's sleeve, raised her head and repeated: "Teacher, the place in the mountains is real, I can feel... there is light there. Let's go there."
Su Wanqing patted her hair and said, "I see. You are right. Let's leave here first."
The team did not stop. They followed the route described by the girl, crossed the outskirts of the city along the old canal, and then split into three groups and disappeared into the darkness after the rain.
