Chapter 85: Oppression of the Infected
Su Wanqing and Lin Che stumbled out of the laboratory, followed by a deafening roar.
Swarms of infected bodies surged in like a tide, covering the sky and the sun, as if they were going to swallow them up.
"Activate the sound wave device!" Su Wanqing shouted, and quickly took out a small sound wave generator from the space. After activation, a high-frequency noise spread instantly.

Su Wanqing also realized the seriousness of the problem. The number of infected bodies was still increasing, and the effect of the sonic device was getting weaker and weaker.

“I…I have a plan.” Lin Che said, his voice trembling. “Maybe we can use my blood.”
“Your blood?” Su Wanqing looked at Lin Che in confusion.
“My blood contains a special strain of virus that is similar to the virus of the first generation of evolution. If my blood is mixed with the experimental samples extracted from the laboratory, it may produce a reaction and unlock the vaccine formula of the inhibitor.” Lin Che explained.
Su Wanqing's face turned pale instantly. "Are you crazy? You are playing with your own life! If the virus mutates, the consequences will be disastrous!"
“I know the risk is high.” Lin Che said, his eyes full of determination, “But I believe this is the only way. We must find a way to suppress the virus, otherwise, the whole world will fall into despair.”
“But…” Su Wanqing wanted to refute, but when she saw Lin Che’s determined eyes, she was speechless.
“Su Wanqing, believe me. Even if I sacrifice myself, I hope to find a glimmer of hope for humanity.” Lin Che said, his voice full of pleading.
Su Wanqing was silent. She knew that Lin Che was right. They were now desperate, and their only hope was to take a risk.
"System, scan Lin Che's blood composition and analyze the possible reactions after mixing with the experimental samples." Su Wanqing said.
"Scanning...Analysis completed. The virus strain in Lin Che's blood is highly matched with the experimental sample. After mixing, it may produce a strong chemical reaction, which will accelerate the process of cracking the vaccine formula. But at the same time, there is a risk of virus mutation, which may lead to the birth of a more aggressive new virus."
The system's cold voice sounded in Su Wanqing's mind.

“I know.” Lin Che said, “But I am willing to take the responsibility.”
Su Wanqing took a deep breath. She knew she had no choice.

"Executing." The system responded.
Su Wanqing quickly took out a medical device from the space and carefully drew Lin Che's blood.
Lin Che's face became paler and paler, but he didn't say a word. He just held Su Wanqing's hand tightly.
Su Wanqing mixed Lin Che's blood with the experimental samples brought out from the laboratory.
In an instant, white smoke came out of the test tube, accompanied by a sharp hissing sound.
“Be careful!” Lin Che shouted. He felt a powerful energy surging.

"Damn it!" Su Wanqing gritted her teeth. She knew she had to find a solution as soon as possible.
Just then, her communicator rang.
"Su Wanqing, Lu Zhao?"
"It's me. What's the matter?" Su Wanqing asked.
"The situation is urgent. The top management of the base is issuing compulsory control measures to the entire area. All experimental samples and suppressor plans will be transferred back to the base for storage." Lu Zhao's voice sounded very anxious.
"What?" Su Wanqing exclaimed, "Why would they do this?"
"I don't know either." Lu Zhao said, "But they seem to think that only by pooling all resources can they better control the situation."
Su Wanqing's face turned even paler. She realized that things might be more complicated than she thought.
"They are not resolving the crisis at all. Instead, they are using us to create deeper means of control!" Su Wanqing said, her voice filled with anger.
"Su Wanqing, what do you mean?" Lu Zhao asked.
"I suspect the top brass at the base have other plans," Su Wanqing said. "They may know some truths that we don't."
"What evidence do you have?" Lu Zhao asked.
"I don't have any conclusive evidence yet." Su Wanqing said, "But I trust my intuition."
"Okay, I'll continue investigating." Lu Zhao said, "Be careful and evacuate as soon as possible."
"I know." Su Wanqing said, and she hung up the communicator.
She turned to look at Lin Che and told him her thoughts.
“It seems like we’ve been dragged into a bigger conspiracy.” Lin Che said, his voice a little heavy.
"Yes." Su Wanqing said, "We must find the truth, otherwise, we will all become their pawns."
"What should we do?" Lin Che asked.
"We must keep moving forward," Su Wanqing said, "even if the road ahead is full of danger, we can't give up."
The two encouraged each other and continued running in the tunnel. They knew that their fate was in their own hands.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of the tunnel. It was a man in a black uniform, wearing sunglasses, with no expression on his face.
"Who are you?" Su Wanqing asked, looking at the man in front of her warily.
"I'm from the security department," the man said. "I've been ordered to investigate."
"Investigating what?" Su Wanqing asked.
"Investigate the loss of control of the first generation of evolution." The man said, "and your whereabouts."
Su Wanqing and Lin Che looked at each other. They knew that trouble was coming again.
