Chapter 97 Night's Motives
Su Wanqing walked to the action planning table and unfolded the base map. Lu Zhao had circled the underground area connected by the secret passage with a red pen and marked a series of possible risk points.
The atmosphere was depressing and the air was filled with distrust.
"Professor Lu, regarding the independent area in the secret passage, you mentioned earlier that Zhou Licheng might store weapons or energy there. Do you have any more specific speculations?"
Su Wanqing looked at Lu Zhao with sharp eyes.
Lu Zhao pushed up his glasses and spoke calmly. "Based on the structural diagram alone, the power supply in this area is independent of the main system of the base, and there are additional cooling devices, which indicates that it is likely to involve some kind of experiment that requires precise temperature control.
As for weapons... it's possible, but they are more likely to be high-tech devices, such as electromagnetic pulse equipment, or other interference with communication systems."
"This vague statement is not consistent with your usual rigorous style."
Su Wanqing stared at Lu Zhao without blinking or avoiding his gaze. "What are you deliberately avoiding?"
Lu Zhao remained calm. "I am just stating the facts. The current information is not enough to make a more accurate judgment.
If we must apply logic, then I think Zhou Licheng's mode of action is to run multiple lines in parallel, each with its own responsibilities, and any single speculation may deviate from the truth. "
Su Wanqing nodded and did not ask any more questions. Lu Zhao's answer was flawless, which seemed to imply that he had limited information, or that he did not want to reveal more.

“Su Wanqing, I used carrier technology to implant a tracking scanning program in the experimental equipment. If Ye communicates with the outside world through Lin Che’s body, this program should be able to capture the signal.”
"What's the result?" Su Wanqing asked anxiously.
Professor Yang shook his head. "There are no abnormalities so far. The signal has remained within the normal range, and no signs of data exchange have been found."

"You are very smart." Night's voice said coldly. "I admit that I don't have much trust in you. After all, you are all human, and I am... different from you."
"Different? How is it different?" Su Wanqing asked.
Ye was silent for a moment, then he slowly said: "I have seen a future that you cannot see. I have seen disasters and destruction. Everything I have done is to prevent those things from happening."
"Stop the disaster?" Su Wanqing said in disbelief. "What does that have to do with Zhou Licheng? Why did you help him conduct those dangerous experiments?"
"Zhou Licheng is just a tool, a pawn being used."
Ye's voice was full of disdain. "What he studies is the last hope for human survival. Although the process is cruel, the result is worth it."
"The hope you mentioned is to use the virus to create more powerful biological weapons?" Su Wanqing asked sternly.
Ye laughed loudly, with a hint of madness in his laughter. "Weapons? You are too naive. Those viruses are just a catalyst, a tool to activate human potential. Only after experiencing hardships can humans evolve and become stronger. Everything Zhou Licheng did was to help humans complete this evolution."
"Evolution?" Su Wanqing snorted. "This is simply a crazy experiment! You are using human life to gamble!"
Ye stopped laughing, turned to look at Su Wanqing, his eyes full of contempt.
"Gambling? Maybe. But this gamble concerns the future of mankind. You humans always like to indulge in the past and are afraid of change. But you must know that change is inevitable and evolution is eternal."
Lin Che's body suddenly began to tremble violently. He tried to take back control of his body, but found that he could not break free from Ye's control at all.
“Get out! Get out of my body!” Lin Che roared in his heart.
Ye said sarcastically: "You? What do you think you can do? You are just a loser, a piece of trash. Without my help, it will be difficult for you to even survive."
The atmosphere inside froze. Everyone realized that the real purpose of the night was far beyond their imagination.
