Chapter 237: If you can guess their sisterly relationship, can you guess Su Yueya's background?

"I, Liu Dekai, rely on myself!" he boasted shamelessly.

"You yourself? Bah!" Mo Youyou wasn't about to give him any face. "You're a deputy battalion commander, and you can't even get a house in the family compound. You think you can bring this old hag here? Don't even dream about it!"

Seeing the two arguing more and more intensely, Zhang Cuihua became extremely anxious.

She came today to have her son accompany her to the doctor, not to ruin the relationship between her son and daughter-in-law.

This situation made her panic!

Zhang Cuihua instinctively felt that the argument couldn't continue and something bad would happen, so she had to stop it immediately.

"Stop arguing!" Zhang Cuihua stepped out from behind Liu Dekai, but still carefully avoided Mo Youyou, as she didn't want to get hit.

"Stop arguing! It's all a misunderstanding!"

"Dekai, Mom came here because she wants to go to the military hospital for a check-up. You come with me." Zhang Cuihua pulled Liu Dekai's arm and walked out. She felt that separating the two of them now and letting them calm down was the best thing to do!

Coincidentally, Liu Dekai also had this idea.

Anyway, he wouldn't expect Mo Youyou to accompany him to the hospital.

"Think what you want, I'm not going to listen to you!" Liu Dekai said to Mo Youyou, then took Zhang Cuihua and left. "Come on, Mom, let's go to the hospital!"

Liu Dekai had no intention of coaxing Mo Youyou.

He won't be able to comfort me now, and he won't be able to comfort me when we get back from the hospital.

If Mo Youyou can come to her senses, that would be best. If not, then let's leave it at that for now. We can get through this cold war.

"Liu Dekai, you—"

"Bang--"

The door slammed shut, and Liu Dekai, without a second thought, took Zhang Cuihua and left.

Mo Youyou looked at the closed door again, and her anger flared up.

Did Liu Dekai really just leave like that?

"I'm so angry! That bastard Liu Dekai, that dog, that scoundrel!" Mo Youyou paced back and forth in the room, unable to calm down.

But more than arguing, a private matter behind closed doors, she was furious about Su Yueya's ability to cure diseases.

Mo Youyou didn't believe it; she didn't believe it from the bottom of her heart.

Could Su Yueya, a village girl who grew up in the countryside, really cure diseases and save lives?

This is ridiculous! Zhang Cuihua even said that Su Yueya might be more skilled than the doctors in the military hospital?

Is this something a sane person would say?

While she felt it was impossible, she also had a vague sense of unease, as if something was not right.

Mo Youyou wouldn't feel at ease unless she saw it with her own eyes.

She didn't trust Liu Dekai and Zhang Cuihua's words; she wanted to see for herself, after all, seeing is believing.

"I want to see what Su Yueya is really made of. I don't believe it!" With that, Mo Youyou went out the door.

After Liu Dekai left with Zhang Cuihua, the two rushed to the military hospital, with Zhang Cuihua recounting her experiences over the past few days.

She was in poor health and couldn't walk fast, so Liu Dekai naturally accommodated her pace.

“Son, what did you just say about being promoted to battalion commander? What exactly happened?” Zhang Cuihua asked.

She was confused by their argument and didn't quite understand what was going on.

"Mom, don't mention it. Anyway, I didn't get promoted!" Liu Dekai didn't want to say more.

After all, the matter has been settled, and the documents for those people who were promoted have been issued. What good will it do to talk about these things now except to add to the trouble?

"Then why didn't you get promoted?" Zhang Cuihua asked anxiously.

"I'm being targeted... It's all because of Su Yueya. She went back and spoke ill of me to her current man, and led the way in voting for someone else!"

"Huh?" Zhang Cuihua thought to herself that this shouldn't be the case. Didn't Yueya promise not to hold Liu Dekai accountable anymore?

If Su Yueya complains about Liu Dekai to her husband behind his back, would she still be willing to treat her?

"Mom, have you been taking your medicine for the past few days and haven't you gotten any better?" Liu Dekai asked.

“Yes, it hasn’t gotten much better…” Zhang Cuihua explained again.

The two walked slowly, so after Mo Youyou chased after them, she soon caught up with them.

They heard footsteps, turned around, saw Mo Youyou, and remained silent.

Zhang Cuihua originally wanted to exchange a few words with her daughter-in-law, but when she saw Mo Youyou's sour face and her own son's cold face, she kept quiet, afraid that a single wrong word would start another argument.

And so, the three of them silently arrived at the military hospital.

This time, Liu Dekai registered with a different doctor and waited in line to see a doctor.

When it was their turn, Zhang Cuihua took out the prescription the doctor had given her earlier and explained her situation.

"Doctor, could you please take a look and see if this prescription is correct?" Liu Dekai asked.

The new doctor reviewed Zhang Cuihua's test results and compared them with the prescription, concluding that there was no problem.

"Following this prescription and with gradual recuperation, the patient's condition won't recover in just a few days. It's already quite an achievement that we can maintain the current state," the doctor said.

If he were to prescribe a remedy, it would likely be similar to the one prescribed by the previous doctor.

"But doctor, I've been taking this medicine for a week now, and I don't feel it's working..." Zhang Cuihua was distressed about the money.

This medicine is expensive, and if she takes it for a long time without seeing any results, she will feel even worse.

"There's nothing we can do. You're getting older, and your physical condition can't compare to when you were younger. Your organs will age too."

"You're taking medication now, and you're trying your best to maintain the current situation and prevent it from worsening. That's already a very good thing."

"If you want to completely cure your illness and return to your youthful state, at least with current technology, it's impossible; medicine hasn't developed to that level yet."
