Su Yueya drank some more water, wandered around, and finally returned to the farm.
This paradise looks vast, but right now, the only place we can set foot in is around this house.
Farms, pastures, and spring water.
As for the edge of the ranch, there was a thick fog, making it impossible to see what was inside.
For safety reasons, Su Yueya did not set foot there.
After walking around, she returned to the farm. She was probably tired, so she sat down on the ground to rest.
She stared blankly at the vegetables and fruits, her mind wandering, when suddenly she realized that the potato seemed a bit too big.
When I first visited the farm, the tomatoes and potatoes had just begun to bear fruit and were quite small, but now they look twice as big.
Could it be that the flow rate in this space is different from that outside?
Or perhaps it's because this is a prime location that the vegetables mature quickly?
Also, these vegetables and fruits definitely need watering, probably with spiritual spring water. Since spiritual spring water tastes so good, it probably has some other effects as well.
Vegetables irrigated with the spirit spring water must taste better than ordinary vegetables, right?
Once the thought came to mind, Su Yueya couldn't help but think about it, and then she stared intently at the vegetables.
After a while, she realized that these vegetables were growing too fast, far beyond what ordinary vegetables outside could ever grow.
She waited a little longer, then simply picked a lot of the ripe vegetables.
We need to go out.
With these thoughts in mind, Su Yueya reappeared in that house in the blink of an eye.
In front of me was a pile of tomatoes, potatoes, and several large cabbages.
The vegetables were clean and fresh, with almost no mud on them, but Su Yueya still carried them and washed them one by one.
She couldn't resist tasting a tomato first, and then her eyes widened in surprise.
It's really delicious!
Tomatoes are usually a bit sour when eaten raw, so they are either stir-fried with other vegetables or simply made into a cold salad with a sprinkle of sugar.
However, white sugar was precious these days, and only people living in the city could afford to eat it often.
Finally, the remaining tomato juice, mixed with white sugar, became a treat that the children fought over.
The clock in the living room struck five.
It was already 5 p.m., and most families would be starting to prepare dinner for the whole family at this time.
After Su Yueya finished eating a tomato, she washed her hands and went to find a bag.
She knew how to build a good relationship with the military wife next door.
The vegetables are readily available, healthy, and delicious. Once you try them, no one will dislike them!
Su Yueya picked out a few of each kind of vegetable, then walked out the door and went to the shop on the left first.
She remembered that Lu Zhengjun said the woman on the left was the sister-in-law of Commander Li, and that she was a warm-hearted person who could be of help to anyone in need.
After knocking on the door, Sister Li quickly came out to open it.
Upon seeing Su Yueya's beautiful yet unfamiliar face, Sister-in-law Li was still somewhat puzzled.
Seeing that the gate of Lu Zhengjun's house was open behind Su Yueya, she suddenly realized what was going on.
"Hello, sister-in-law, I live next door to you."
Su Yueya smiled and said, "I just moved here today, and I accidentally bought too much groceries, but my husband said he won't be home for dinner tonight."
“It’s hot now, and I’m afraid the vegetables will spoil, which would be a waste. We’re all neighbors, so I thought I’d give you some.”
As soon as she heard this, Sister Li understood and said warmly, "Oh, thank you so much for bringing so many vegetables. I don't need to go to the market tonight."
As she spoke, Sister Li told Su Yueya to come in and sit down quickly.
Their house is also a two-story building.
Once Su Yueya went inside, she could hear the sound of children running around upstairs.
Sister-in-law Li explained, "My two little rascals were just picked up from school by me, and they're still running wild."
Su Yueya smiled, didn't look around, put down the vegetables, and said, "Sister-in-law, I just moved in today, and I still have a lot of things to unpack. I have to go back now. I'll come and chat with you another time when I have time!"
"OK!"
Sister-in-law Li readily agreed, then took a small, pretty-looking snack box and insisted on stuffing it into Su Yueya's hands. "I don't have anything good here, but this is some snacks that your brother Li was given to him by someone when he went out drinking last time. If you don't mind, you can keep it."
"Sister-in-law, I'm here to bring you vegetables. Keep this for the children; I don't need it."
“The kids are at the age where they're losing their baby teeth, so they can't eat sweets. They're greedy, and I have to keep an eye on these snacks at home, checking every day to make sure they're not missing. If you take them, you're doing your sister-in-law a favor.”
Su Yueya had never experienced anything like this before, and unable to refuse, she had no choice but to accept it.
She remembered what Lu Zhengjun said when he left.
If you need anything, you can go to Commander Li's house next door. His wife is very kind and will definitely be willing to help.
They were indeed very enthusiastic.
As she was leaving, Su Yueya asked, "Sister-in-law, I'm new here and don't know where the market is. Where do you all buy your groceries?"
"Hey, there's a vegetable market to the east. People from our residential compound all buy their groceries there. It's a pretty big market; they have all kinds of vegetables and meat."
Sister-in-law Li said warmly, "If you can't find the place, come find me when you go to buy groceries tomorrow, and I'll take you there. It's not far, and I guess you'll remember the way after going once."
The military has strict discipline and checks very closely when entering and leaving, plus the area is not close to the bustling city center.
It's impractical to go to the city to buy groceries every day, but fortunately, there's a vegetable market and a small shop here at the military base, where you can buy most things, including fresh fish and meat.
