Chapter 268 Back Pain

Caught off guard, Zhang Cuihua never expected Mo Youyou to push her, and fell to the ground without warning.

"Ouch, that hurts so much!" Zhang Cuihua cried out.

"Mom!" Liu Dekai quickly reached out to help Zhang Cuihua stand up.

But Zhang Cuihua couldn't stand up at all; her back was killing her.

Don't even mention it, even the slightest movement is excruciatingly painful.

"No, no, no! Son, don't touch me, my back hurts, my back hurts so much!" Zhang Cuihua cried out.

Liu Dekai panicked immediately.

As people get older, they become more averse to falling, let alone being pushed down.

Mo Youyou instantly came to her senses. Had she pushed Zhang Cuihua down?

A few words of scolding or disrespect in normal times are minor matters, but pushing someone down is a different story. Moreover, if anything happens to Zhang Cuihua, she will be even more unable to shirk responsibility.

"Really?" Mo Youyou looked at her suspiciously, her face full of guilt. "You're not faking it, are you?"

"Mo Youyou, do you have any humanity left?" Liu Dekai suddenly raised his head and glared at Mo Youyou.

But he doesn't want to argue right now.

The most urgent task is to determine if his mother is alright.

"Mom, we have to go to the hospital, we have to go to the hospital right away, just bear with it for now." As he spoke, Liu Dekai tried to pick up Zhang Cuihua first.

But Zhang Cuihua was in excruciating pain from even the slightest movement, making it impossible for her to cooperate with her son's actions.

"No!" Zhang Cuihua's face crumpled in pain, turning pale. "No, no, I can't move! It hurts so much if I move!"

"Okay, I won't move." Liu Dekai quickly withdrew his hand.

They left Zhang Cuihua lying on the ground and dared not move her again.

Since we can't get the person to the hospital, we'll have to ask the doctor to come and pick them up.

"I'm going to make a call!" Liu Dekai rushed out.

Right now, the only thing we can do is call the hospital and ask them to send someone over to carry my mother there.

Mo Youyou was initially skeptical, but seeing her pale and bluish face, she was speechless.

What should we do?

At this critical juncture, she actually pushed Zhang Cuihua down. Shouldn't she be held responsible?

Not only has she become a clingy person, but how can she have the audacity to argue with Liu Dekai?

Mo Youyou kept scolding herself for being impulsive.

She originally held a favorable position, but now she has handed over the high ground to Liu Dekai, who benefited from it.

"You, you don't move. Dekai made a call, and the hospital will send someone over soon," Mo Youyou said awkwardly to Zhang Cuihua, her tone full of guilt.

Because they lived in the family compound, which was very close to the military hospital, the hospital staff arrived shortly after Liu Dekai made the phone call.

They carried Zhang Cuihua on a stretcher and took her to the hospital first.

As the medical staff carried Zhang Cuihua onto the stretcher, she kept crying out, because even the slightest movement would hurt.

"Ouch, that hurts so much! It hurts so much!"

"Auntie, you have to bear with it."

"Oh my..."

Liu Dekai was heartbroken. At that moment, he couldn't care less about settling scores with Mo Youyou; he just wanted to make sure his mother was alright.

"Family members need to accompany them," the medical staff said.

“I’m her son!” Liu Dekai immediately stepped forward.

Mo Youyou wanted to move too, but she had only taken one step when Liu Dekai, without turning his head, said with his back to her, "Don't follow me."

Mo Youyou: "..."

Because Zhang Cuihua's condition was urgent, she was taken to the hospital and immediately taken for a check-up, which confirmed that she had strained her back.

It's not a critical situation, but considering her age, it's best to stay in the hospital for observation for a day, just to be on the safe side.

"Forget it, Dekai, let's go back." Zhang Cuihua was reluctant to stay in the hospital, feeling that it would cost too much money for one night and was unnecessary.

During the argument, Mo Youyou said that the family now relies on her family for their livelihood, which makes Zhang Cuihua even more reluctant to spend money.

“Mom, let’s listen to the doctor. He said we need to stay in the hospital for observation for a day, so let’s stay.” Liu Dekai didn’t hesitate at all.

"The patient is elderly, so you younger family members need to be extra careful to prevent her from bumping into things. This fall wasn't too serious, but sometimes a fall in the wrong place can be life-threatening!" the doctor warned.

"Thank you, doctor. We will be careful," Liu Dekai said.

In the ward, neither the mother nor the son looked well.

As for Mo Youyou, after Liu Dekai forbade her from following him, she paced back and forth in the room alone, restless and uneasy.

Today is the weekend, and Liao Jinling has taken the day off, saying she needs to go back to take care of her son and daughter-in-law.

Mo Youyou felt fortunate that Liao Jinling hadn't seen their family affairs.

But what should she do now?

She caused Zhang Cuihua's injury. What if Liu Dekai keeps bringing this up and keeps picking on her?

What if... it escalates to the point of divorce?

It's not that Mo Youyou loves Liu Dekai so much or is so reluctant to part with him. Things have escalated to this point, and it's no longer a matter of feelings for her. It's more about her competitive spirit and her unwillingness to be labeled as divorced.

"They need to eat, right? Yes, they need to eat!" Mo Youyou came up with a solution.

At this point, she felt that Liao Jinling would be better off.

At least someone can cook something to eat.

Now, Mo Youyou can only order food from restaurants outside, pack it up, and take it to the military hospital to see them. After all, the food at the hospital is not good, so this way, she has a reasonable excuse to go to the hospital.

After asking around, Mo Youyou found Zhang Cuihua's hospital room.
