Chapter 41 Punishment
The man was reaching out and pushing the small pot of braised chicken with potatoes toward the capybara.
This is the professionalism required of a qualified zookeeper.
The potatoes were stewed to perfection today, with a soft and flavorful texture, but they weren't overcooked.
Today's chicken was a genuine free-range chicken given to me by a colleague; it tasted delicious.
In front of the island, there are daffodils that the capybara personally selected and "chosen" by the little capybara.
Then the capybara told him about the divorce.
divorce.
The man paused slightly in his work, but then finished arranging the dishes.
The little capybara stared at him with its clear, round eyes, its gaze sincere and utterly pure.
It was as if the cold word "divorce" had nothing to do with his soft, pink lips.
It was as if I had misheard.
Pei Xi didn't blink, keeping her eyes fixed on the man's face opposite her.
Dr. Guan remained silent.
His mind started to feel a little confused.
Like the sheets under your bed in the morning, wrinkles appear.
Does this mean they will get divorced in the future?
Finally, Guan Yue spoke, his face grim and menacing: "What, you want a divorce?"
"I don't want to," the young man blurted out almost without hesitation.
I don't want to.
This seemed to be some kind of antidote that had been enchanted, dispelling most of the cold aura emanating from someone's face.
"Then why ask this?" Guan Yue said expressionlessly, scooping a large spoonful of sticky potato into the capybara's bowl.
Pei Xi was a little stumped by this question.
He didn't know why either.
I was just wondering what to ask: if Renke and Dr. Guan might separate in the future, he needs to break free from his current state of dependence.
Based on his childhood experience, he realized that the biggest challenge of living alone is not actually being alone.
Instead, they broke free from their previous way of life and started adapting anew.
I hadn't thought about dating before, partly because I was too busy with work every day, and partly because I was worried about this issue.
Pei Xi hesitated for a moment before replying, "Well... it just suddenly occurred to me, if Dr. Guan and I still have to separate..."
Before he could finish speaking, the man in front of him frowned and interrupted, "Why did you break up?"
He thought the little capybara had finally made this place its home, but it was still thinking about leaving all the time.
I really want to take a scalpel and cut out the heart of this little capybara to see if it was made of stone, defying the laws of nature.
"Hmm." Pei Qi was stumped again. He didn't know why he always thought this way. "It's just a pattern, I guess."
Guan Yue: "What pattern?"
"Well... when I was little, my mom and I were separated. Later, when I was in junior high school, I had a really good friend, but he suddenly transferred schools and we separated. Then I went to college and rented a room outside. I lived there for almost four years. I was thinking that I would earn money and try to buy it after I graduated. But the year I graduated, the whole neighborhood was leveled and is now part of the highway."
Because people always leave, he eventually relied on real estate like houses, but he still couldn't escape the inevitable separation.
After listening, Guan Yue slowly said, "So you think that, according to the pattern, we will also separate."
Pei Xi: "Mm."
Guan Yue: "This logic is flawed, and the conclusion is untenable."
The capybara blinked: "Is that so?"
"Yes," the man replied.
Although it was just one syllable, Pei Qi inexplicably felt very confident.
Guan Yue: "Let's eat. The food today should be alright."
"Oh, okay." Pei Xi suddenly felt relieved and stopped thinking about it so much; eating was the priority.
Moreover, Dr. Guan said that the conclusion was untenable.
Um.
The little capybara started eating quietly; today's food was indeed delicious. Especially the braised chicken with potatoes—the chicken pieces were incredibly tender and stir-fried until very fragrant, and the potatoes mixed with rice were absolutely delicious.
He buried his head and ate two large bowls of rice.
After eating, I started to feel a bit dizzy from the carbon dioxide. I read a couple of lines of a book and then I was so sleepy that I couldn't keep my eyes open.
When Guan Yue returned from the study, he saw the capybara lying haphazardly on the bed, with a book open beside it.
Guan Yue pursed his lips, walked closer to the bedside, picked up the book about ancient book restoration, and put it back on the bedside table.
The little capybara had half its body outside the blankets.
He gently wrapped the person in the warm blankets.
Because they were so close, the unique plum scent emanating from the capybara bloomed in his nostrils.
It's sweet.
Guan Yue leaned down, his nose touching the young man's soft skin, and took a light sniff.
The capybara, which wasn't sleeping soundly, stirred slightly.
The man stared at the little capybara's blushing face, her eyelids closed, her eyelashes thick and curled.
He couldn't help but reach out and touch the young man's dark eyelashes.
I suddenly remembered how the little capybara looked when it said "divorce".
And those who don't trust him.
They even claimed they weren't bad capybaras.
The man's expression changed. No longer satisfied with just touching with his fingertips, he bent down and placed a kiss on the young man's tightly closed eyes, kissing both eyes fairly, without neglecting either one.
Then came the delicate tip of her nose, followed by her soft, supple lips.
Pei Xi hadn't entered a deep sleep yet, and being kissed like that, she quickly woke up.
He slightly opened his eyes: "Hmm..."
Guan Yue's bangs were poking at his brow, making him feel a little itchy.
The lip was being grabbed, bitten, and torn.
pain.
The pain made him instinctively reach out and shield the man's chest.
His mouth was gagged, so he couldn't make a sound.
All they could do was grumble and whine in protest.
However, the protests were ineffective.
The man's tongue swished in, conquering and seizing territory with unstoppable force.
Pei Xi always felt that Dr. Guan was particularly kind.
He felt this way before when they were at the resort, and now he feels it more and more.
Dr. Guan could always kiss him so easily that he would be dizzy and unable to stand up straight.
Then you feel like you're a cloud in the sky, your head is full of cotton, you can't think of anything, and you just drift along, not knowing where you're going.
But it seems that Dr. Guan is doing this on purpose, deliberately preventing him from being "drifted away" like that.
She deliberately bit his lips hard.
He clutched at the man's clothes in pain.
I didn't control my strength well.
Actually, it's not so much about picking on someone, but rather...
rub.
He wasn't the one being treated this way; it was he who blushed.
Embarrassed, the pain on his lips lessened.
but......
It really feels great to the touch...
Like Q/Q gummies.
The man squinted slightly.
He saw it.
This stinky capybara is getting distracted again at a time like this.
He didn't punish them severely enough.
So he took the young man's already crushed lip into his mouth, licked it a few times, and then bit it off without mercy with the tip of his teeth.
It hurts so much.
It was even harder than when I bit my lip just now.
Pei Xi felt as if her lips were about to be ripped off, and her body instinctively resisted, pushing the man away.
Guan Yue then released the young man's lips, which were already covered in kisses, straightened his back slightly, and created some distance between himself and the capybara, then stared at the capybara's lips.
Pei Xi was breathing heavily when her dazed mind and slightly numb lips gradually came to a stop.
Guan Yue: "You're not allowed to mention divorce anymore."
The man spoke coldly, his face expressionless.
Pei Xi was already half asleep, and then she was woken up while still in a dream, so she was still a little confused. How did they start talking about divorce?
When did he ever mention divorce?
Suddenly, the image of braised chicken with potatoes and stir-fried vegetables from dinner flashed through my mind... and then I remembered what I had mentioned during dinner.
"I...didn't say divorce." He felt that Dr. Guan's words were ambiguous. He didn't say divorce; he was clearly asking if they would get divorced.
He added weakly, "I was just asking."
The numbness in my lip has finally subsided a little.
“These kinds of questions are questioning our marriage.” The man’s tone was harsh, much like a judge in an old TVB drama, listing the crimes of a criminal. “You’re not allowed to ask any more questions.”
The capybara has never been one to analyze logic, so it doesn't know whether what the judge said is correct.
But he was already intimidated by the judge's authority.
At this moment, all he wants to do is plead guilty and accept punishment.
"Then I won't say it again." The little capybara obediently admitted its crime and made a promise.
Guan Yue: "Mm."
Although it was only one word, the little capybara thought that he must have been forgiven by the judge.
The man was still staring at his lips: "They're a little swollen, I'll go get some medicine."
I got a little out of control in my anger just now, and I didn't control my strength precisely.
Pei Qi remembered that the last time his lips were also coated with that ointment, it felt cool and comfortable, but he would unconsciously lick his lips when he slept, and the ointment would go in and taste terribly bitter.
It could wake him up directly from the pain.
I can't stand it.
"Forget it, don't apply it anymore." He pulled Dr. Guan, who had already gotten up, back to his seat. "It's so bitter. Anyway, I'm not going out tomorrow, so let's just leave it like this."
Guan Yue: "Doesn't it hurt now?"
"It's okay." Pei Qi pursed her lips, feeling alright, just a little numb. "It doesn't hurt much."
Guan Yue: "I'll go to the pharmacy tomorrow to see if they have anything that isn't bitter."
"Hmm." Pei Xi felt the man was going to a bit too far. "Just don't bite me like that next time... that'll be fine."
Guan Yue: "......"
"That's because you said you wanted a divorce."
Pei Xi: "I didn't, I was asking."
Wait, how did we get back to this again...?
They both remained silent for a while.
The capybara whispered to itself, "This time it's not the two words I mentioned."
Guan Yue: "......"
The man walked around the edge of the bed once, then rolled over and got into bed as well.
Pei Qi felt the mattress sink slightly, but he didn't turn his head to look at the man. Instead, he turned his back to him.
The nightlight on the bedside table cast a soft glow.
He plans to gradually cultivate sleepiness again.
"Hmm—"
Suddenly, I pulled myself back from the edge of the bed.
Then, a warm embrace enveloped her.
The man, his deep eyes—the complete opposite of his fiery passion—pressed against the little capybara's pale neck: "Will you do it or not?"
