Chapter 162: The Best of the Best
Twelve o'clock in the morning.
The sound of rain could still be heard outside the window.
After a rain, the air becomes slightly cooler.
But the master bedroom is warm and cozy.
Not long after Jiang Yan returned home, he went to the study and has been busy ever since.
He tiptoed to the bedside and looked down at the two people, one big and one small, on the bed. The dim light poured onto the faces of the sleeping mother and child.
He leaned down slightly and placed a kiss on the woman's smooth forehead.
However, just as the kiss fell, the woman who was originally sleeping suddenly moved.
She opened her eyes and looked at him, looking sleepy.
Jiang Yan was stunned for a moment, "Sorry for waking you up."
Su He looked at him for a few seconds, then asked dazedly, "What time is it?"
The man raised his hand and stroked the top of her head, and whispered, "It's twelve o'clock."
Upon hearing this, Su He said "Oh" in a light tone.
Then, she added, "Happy birthday, husband."
After she finished speaking, without waiting for the man to say anything, she closed her eyes and went back to sleep.
It was as if she had said this specifically when she woke up.
The man's heart is like a jar of honey.
Jiang Yan's deep black eyes stared at her intently, as if hiding the vast expanse of stars.
His cold, thin lips curled up into a helpless yet doting smile, and he placed another kiss on her cheek.
"Go to sleep."
Su He responded vaguely: "Well, you should go to bed early too."
Ten minutes later.
After the man came out of the shower, he lifted the quilt and lay down beside Su He.
Because he was still a little cold, he didn't hug her immediately, but the next second, the woman turned around and threw herself into his arms.
He curled his lips helplessly.
Before going to bed, he stretched out his arms and pulled the quilt for his son, and then he could sleep peacefully with his wife in his arms.
Have a good night's sleep.
The next day, the morning light was dim.
It was a November morning, and the rain last night made the air chilly.
Su He was afraid of both heat and cold. She nestled in this embrace as warm as a stove and really didn't want to move.
Just then, the little guy rolled over on the bed wrapped in the quilt and crawled up like a caterpillar.
He sat on the bed, laughed, and raised his little hands to rub his sleepy eyes.
He looked at the two people hugging each other and blinked.
Jiang Yan was already awake when he sat up.
Su He also woke up, but was too lazy to move.
The man waved at him and the little guy crawled over nimbly.
The couple left the middle seat for him.
After Su Baobei lay down again, he glanced back and forth at the two of them. He looked at Su He, who still had her eyes closed, and asked, "Mommy, am I going to have a little sister?"
Su He was just about to take a nap when he heard his son's cute and tender voice.
She was too lazy to even open her eyes. She raised her hand and rubbed his little head. Her clear voice, with a nasal sound of just waking up, said, "Don't you have instant noodles? And Xuanxuan, what sister do you want?"
"But baby wants his own sister~"
Su He: “…”
This little guy hasn’t been mentioned for a while recently, how come he came back after a nap last night?
She had no choice but to say, "Xuanxuan is one of us too. She is also your sister."
The little guy was a little confused and blinked his big eyes that were already awake.
…
Uncle Zhong sent the little guy to kindergarten. Not long after, Su He had breakfast and prepared to go to work.
Before leaving, Jiang Yan took her hand and said, "Are you sure you don't want to stay with me?"
Su He stared at the handsome face in front of him for a few seconds, then grinned: "No, I have a patient who needs surgery at noon, so I have to be here."
"So cruel to me?"
“This is called being responsible to my patients.”
"Your husband has a 'terminal illness', and you still have the mood to go to work?"
"Isn't that what you said? Let me go to get off work normally, don't worry about it, and don't act too sad."
Jiang Yan: "..."
Is he digging a hole for himself?
-
As soon as Su He got off the car, he ran into Tang Sirou.
She just glanced at her lightly, without intending to pay attention to her, and walked straight towards the elevator.
But Tang Sirou was stuck in the parking lot early in the morning just to wait for her.
When Su He passed by her, she raised her hand to stop her.
"Su He, I have something to tell you."
Su He was forced to stop. She turned sideways, raised her eyelids and glanced at her.
Then he raised his wrist to check the time on his watch, and said lazily in his cold voice, "I'll give you two minutes. Otherwise, if I'm late and get deducted money, I'll have to trouble Miss Tang to make up for it."
Tang Sirou was stunned for a moment: "You..."
"Goodbye, there's still a minute and a half."
Tang Sirou took a deep breath and said, "How's Brother Yan? I want to see him. You won't even stop me from doing that, right? After all, Brother Yan and I are friends. It's not too much to ask him to meet at this time, right? Doctor Su wouldn't be so stingy, would he? What happened between Brother Yan and me is in the past. It won't pose any threat to your position, Mrs. Jiang."
As she spoke, she paid attention to the changes in Su He's expression.
Unfortunately, Su He's overly beautiful face is still unfathomable, and people can't see any clues.
Su He smiled and said, "I am indeed quite stingy."
Tang Sirou: "..."
"Ms. Tang, are you still awake so early in the morning? Your presence will not pose any threat to me, either before or now." Su He looked at her with a smile, but the smile did not reach her eyes. She curled her red lips and said, "After all, you and I are not on the same level, so how can you be a threat? Don't you agree?"
"If you're still asleep, go home and take a nap while it's still early. I have to go to work when the time comes. I'm not like Miss Tang who's idle."
She didn't mention Jiang Yan at all.
After saying that, she turned around and left.
Tang Sirou called out from behind her, "Su He, Brother Yan is lying in the hospital right now. Are you still in the mood to go to work? Are you sure you really love him?"
Su He didn't want to pay attention to her at first, but her last sentence made her stop.
She turned around, and her charming peach blossom eyes looked at her with a hint of playfulness and scrutiny, "Miss Tang, you want to say that I'm after his money, right?"
Tang Sirou frowned and said nothing, but her words were self-evident.
Su He didn't care. Instead, she smiled and said, "It seems that Miss Tang understands women quite well. After all, who doesn't like money? Right? Marrying a billionaire and having a life of luxury, which woman wouldn't want it? Miss Tang should want it too, right? After all, someone as vain as Miss Tang would prefer to marry a rich husband."
