Chapter 21 The Quiet Young Master, Meets After Dusk

Jiang Hai stood at the bow, feeling the sea breeze, without saying a word.

Everyone in the Xincheng Army was used to it. Every time the young master encountered a Japanese pirate ship, he would go to the bow of the ship alone for a while after the battle, so no one bothered him.

"What's wrong with you? Aren't you happy even though you won?" Seeing him like this, Yuchi Ziling came up to talk to him.

"Oh, it's okay, I'm not unhappy." Jiang Hai came back to his senses.

Yuchi Ziling naturally had no idea what Jiang Hai was thinking, so she just stood quietly with him at the bow. Today she saw another side of Jiang Hai, and just as he said, those so-called playboys were nothing compared to him.

This man is not as frivolous as he appears. He has unknown energy in his heart that affects everything around him. From the attitude of the people of Xincheng and the Xincheng Army towards him, it can be seen that he is actually very respected in Xincheng.

Thinking of this, Yuchi Ziling smiled slightly, as if this marriage was quite good.

As dusk approached, the fleet entered the artificial canal.

"Young master, what should we do with these people and this merchant ship?" Lao Tie asked.

"First, hand the people over to Wang Lue's Urban Management Office for registration and processing. The women will be settled first, and then they'll be assigned to suitable positions based on their personal preferences. The soldiers will be assigned to mine for a few months, and their performance will be determined."

"Okay, sir, what about the boat?"

"Oh, take the merchant ship back to the shipyard for renovation and turn it into a pleasure boat. Then sail it to Liuli Lake and give it to the top courtesan this year."

"Okay, young master, you are so generous." Lao Tie gave a thumbs up.

Yuchi Ziling listened to their conversation and wasn't particularly surprised by Jiang Hai's decision. What shocked her most today was the naval battle itself; it was completely beyond her comprehension. She had never imagined a war could be fought this way.

It was not until the ship returned to the shipyard and stopped that Cai'er, with a pale face, moved out of the cabin.

Jiang Hai was delighted when he saw it.

"Cai'er, you're doing great. You can actually stand up."

Cai'er was no longer able to answer, so she approached Yuchi Ziling, grabbed her mistress's hand, and tremblingly followed Jiang Hai and the others off the boat.

Just as they were getting off the boat, a pretty woman came running out from among the captives and knelt before Jiang Hai.

"Sir, please take me in. I am willing to serve you."

Jiang Haike really didn't expect this to happen. He turned around and looked at Yuchi Ziling.

Yuchi Ziling gave him a charming smile with ill intentions.

Jiang Hai felt like he was electrocuted and cleared his throat.

"Ahem, no need, Master, I'm a man."

“…”

The scene suddenly became quiet, as if a cool breeze had blown by. The woman was petrified and at a loss.

Jiang Hai pulled Wu Gong over and whispered,

"Come and use martial arts, please borrow it."

“…” Wu Gong was disgusted, but did not reject him.

Jiang Hai put his arm around Wu Gong's shoulders and walked over.

Yuchi Ziling and Cai'er were behind him, and were also shocked by his magical operation.

The folding fan was opened, and the word "Cool" was written on it. Jiang Hai turned around and said to the two women,

"Don't just stand there, go home."

The Jiang family got on a carriage and rushed back to the Jiang family.

On the beach on the coast of the South China Sea.

The fat man from the Jinshui Chamber of Commerce was thrown onto the beach, holding a piece of broken plank. After a long while, his eyes twitched slightly and he woke up.

The fat man survived the disaster and after being thrown into the sea, he held on to this broken plank of the Japanese ship.

The fat man struggled to get up and looked at his leg, which seemed to be broken. He tore a piece of cloth to bandage the wound and limped towards the shore.

The sun had already set in the west. The fat man looked towards the coast and saw lights in the northeast, which seemed to be a village by the sea. He dragged his injured leg slowly towards the lights.

At this time, Jiang Mansion.

Although Jiang Hai had won a victory at sea today, he was not very happy for two reasons. First, there were no foreign crops that he had been longing for, and second, someone in the corrupt court had colluded with pirates to plunder the people, and the people behind it were the royal palace and the prince.

This made him very unhappy.

However, despite being unhappy, he still had something to be happy about today. Yuchi Ziling had lost the bet this morning, and tonight Jiang Hai was determined not to give his stepmother a chance to steal the spoils.

After dinner, Siqin was about to take Yuchi Ziling back to her residence in the backyard. Jiang Hai immediately jumped out to stop them.

"Little Mom, Zi Ling said she would come to my place tonight."

"Oh, really? That's not good. How can we do that before we even get married? It won't be good for Ling'er if the news gets out."

Jiang Hai was about to jump up and down; he hadn't expected his stepmother to be so feudal and old-fashioned. Yuchi Ziling came over to him and whispered something in his ear. Jiang Hai nodded in satisfaction and didn't try to stop Siqin from leading her group away. He returned to the courtyard on his own.

The moon is above the willows, and we make an appointment after dusk.

As the night deepened, Jiang Hai came to wait for Yuchi Ziling outside her yard.

Not long after, Yuchi Ziling came out. Jiang Hai held her hand and walked along the backyard corridor.

"Tell me quickly what's going on with all those artillery and sniper rifles today?"

Yuchi Ziling did not resist Jiang Hai holding her hand. She was more curious about what happened on the battlefield today. It was something she had never seen before and it was extremely powerful.

"I really don't know how to explain this to you. Let's go back to our yard and I'll draw a picture and explain it to you."

Jiang Hai took her back to his residence, went to the study, and started teaching mode.

He didn't expect that he would be teaching modern knowledge in the study for three or four hours, which made him exhausted.

Yuchi Ziling was like a curious baby, asking questions one after another.
