Chapter 179 Miscarriage

Mu Mian was furious. Aunt Zhang was scolded and was so scared that she didn't even dare to say a word.

Mu Qiu wiped away his tears hastily and called out weakly, "Dad."

Mu Mian lowered his eyes to look at Mu Qiu, quickly suppressing his anger and speaking to him in a gentle manner. "Qiu Qiu, tell Dad what happened?" Mu Qiu's lips trembled before he told Mu Mian, "After you left, Mom knew I was going out on a date. She was worried I wouldn't have money, so she went upstairs to get me my bank card. Aunt Zhang and I were still having dinner when I heard Mom scream and tumble down the stairs."

"Aunt Zhang and I ran over and saw my mother lying on the ground, bleeding..."

"No one wants this to happen. Don't blame Aunt Zhang."

That horrific scene resurfaced in Mu Qiu's mind, and she couldn't help crying again. She quickly wiped her tears, looked towards the emergency room with worry, clasped her hands together, and prayed for Du Tingting.

Mu Mian scratched his hair irritably, squatted dejectedly at the door of the emergency room, his eyelids twitching wildly.

After a while, the doctor came out.

Mu Mian and Mu Qiu rushed over immediately. Mu Mian grabbed the doctor's arm and asked him, "Doctor, how are my wife and child?"

The doctor shook his head and told Mu Mian: "The patient fell too hard, and the child died on the spot. The patient suffered heavy bleeding. Fortunately, our hospital still has RH negative blood in stock, otherwise..." He didn't dare to think about what the result would be.

"But fortunately, the patient is no longer in danger of death." The doctor patted Mu Mian's arm, took off his mask and left.

Mu Mian stood there blankly, like a wooden stake.

Mu Qiu's face turned even paler, and she murmured, "The child was not saved..." It would be a miracle if the child could be saved after Du Tingting fell into that state.

But when he heard the bad news, Mu Qiu was still a little sad.

After a moment of confusion, Mu Mian gradually regained his composure. He whispered, "It's okay, as long as your mother is okay."

He was heartbroken that he had lost his child, but Mu Mian was already content that Du Tingting had saved her life.

Mu Qiu nodded randomly, then raised her head and looked at Mu Mian through tears. She asked Mu Mian, "Dad, what should I tell Mom when she wakes up?"

Mu Mian's heart suddenly ached.

He hugged Mu Qiu in his arms and choked up, "It's okay, your mother is okay, this is a blessing. When she wakes up, I will tell her about the child."

Aunt Zhang watched with unease, unable to help but worry. When Madam woke up and found out the child was gone, she would surely be devastated.

-

The Mu family was in chaos, but the Song Ci family was peaceful.

The wedding night lasted a long time, and when Song Ci woke up, it was already past eleven o'clock. Not seeing Han Zhan, Song Ci calmly found her phone and called Han Zhan.

"Brother Han, where are you? You didn't go to work the day after your wedding, did you?"

Han Zhan laughed.

The laughter was low and pleasant through the receiver, and Song Ci felt a little itchy in his cochlea.

Han Zhan told Song Ci: "Change your clothes when you wake up, come to the dining room downstairs and have lunch with the elders. Godmother and uncle have to leave in the afternoon."

So this lunch is both a family dinner and a thanksgiving dinner.

"Okay." Song Ci wanted to leave a good impression on the elders, so she changed into a lovely red bean paste pink lace long dress. Looking at the gentle and bright woman in the mirror, Song Ci smiled and said to her, "You are so beautiful, Mrs. Han."

Having indulged in narcissism enough, Song Ci finally went downstairs.

When she walked out of the elevator, she saw Han Zhan standing in the corridor outside the elevator waiting for her. "You can really sleep." Han Zhan reached out and took Song Ci's hand, pulling her towards the private room.

Song Ci glanced at Han Zhan with a reproachful look and complained to him: "Who do you blame?"

"Yes, it's my fault that I'm too good." Han Zhan was quite shameless.

Song Ci was too lazy to talk nonsense with him.

The private room was spacious, with a large dining table for twelve people, which was almost full. Han Zhan's godmothers and Li Yao sat on the left, while Song Ci's teacher, Shen Yubei, sat next to Di Rongrong.

A moon-white cheongsam makes Di Rongrong look like a green lotus in the June drizzle, and her temperament is so elegant and refined.

As for Shen Yubei, he wore a light blue Chinese-style suit, and his long hair was fixed with a black jade hairpin. He looked very noble, like a nobleman from the Republic of China period.

Shen Yubei was sitting here as Song Ci's family member. Han Aoyu was the most cordial to him. He pulled him and chatted non-stop, asking about the things that Song Ci had participated in competitions when he was a child.

Shen Yubei answered them one by one, his expression respectful but not fearful.

No one could have guessed that with his calm and composed appearance, a pair of playful high-heeled shoes was rubbing against his calf under the table.

Just as that leg was becoming more and more wanton, Shen Yubei suddenly stretched his right hand under the table, grabbed the thigh of the owner of that foot, and squeezed it hard.

"hiss!"

Di Rongrong suddenly gasped and her expression twisted.

Jin Luolan heard the noise and turned around to ask her: "What's wrong with you? You look like you've been bitten by a dog."

Di Rongrong rubbed her thighs and could only grit her teeth and swallow it. "It's okay, I just touched the table leg with my toes."

"oh."

Hearing the conversation, a smile flashed in Shen Yubei’s eyes.

It was finally quiet under the table.

On Han Aoyu's left sat a member of the Han family. Next to Han Aoyu sat an elderly man who looked to be in his sixties. He was quite robust, wore glasses, and had a righteous, yet dignified expression.
