Nangong Yingying was very old. Song Ci couldn't see her face clearly because she lowered her head. But Nangong Yingying's figure was very hunched. Her feet were chained. She was sitting on a stone platform and dozing off.
"Yingying." Mo Zhangkuang called her.
Song Ci was a little surprised when she heard how Mo Zhangkuang addressed Nangong Yingying.
What's going on?
Nangong Yingying was old and weak, dozing off most of the day. Hearing the sound, Nangong Yingying slowly raised her head.
Because she had been imprisoned in this cage her entire life, Nangong Yingying's skin was pale to the point of being sickly, but her hair was jet black. Her face was covered with wrinkles, and even her eyelids drooped. When she looked at people with her two cloudy brown eyes, it always made people feel uneasy.
Nangong Yingying subconsciously curled up a mocking smile at the sight of Mo Zhangkuang. But when she noticed a delicate and arrogant young woman standing next to Nangong Yingying, her expression froze.
granddaughter?
Nangong Yingying was surprised.
Why would this girl stand with Mo Zhangkuang?
Nangong Yingying pretended not to know Song Ci. She asked Mo Zhangkuang with a sneer, "Is this your granddaughter?" Nangong Yingying always knew that Mo Zhangkuang had a granddaughter named Mo Fengying. The last time they met, Mo Fengying was only twelve years old.
So when Nangong Yingying saw a young woman appear with Mo Zhangkuang, she thought she was Mo Fengying.
Mo Zhangkuang shook his head and said, "This is my little disciple, Song Fei. Song Fei, come, come forward and take a closer look. This is the medicine man Nangong Yingying. You can call her Medicine Granny."
Song Ci walked closer and looked at Nangong Yingying through the fence. Like a curious child, she asked Mo Zhangkuang, "Can I go in and see her?"
Mo Zhangkuang did not refuse and nodded in agreement.
The door of the compartment was not locked. After all, there were iron chains tied to Nangong Yingying's legs, so she had no way to escape.
Song Ci walked into the small room and squatted in front of Nangong Yingying.
Looking at Nangong Yingying's face from such a close distance, Song Ci discovered that her father's eyes actually looked a lot like her grandmother's, both with double eyelids and very beautiful hazel-colored pupils.
Nangong Yingying looked at Song Fei greedily. This might be the closest time she had ever been to her family in her life. She enjoyed every minute and every second of the moment.
The grandparents and grandchildren met but could not hug or express their feelings to each other. They just stared at each other quietly. Soon, Nangong Yingying's eyes were filled with tears.
Song Ci wiped away Nangong Yingying's tears with her hands, and then stroked Nangong Yingying's cheek in front of Mo Zhangkuang.
Mo Zhangkuang thought that Song Ci was observing the differences between medicine people and normal people, and he was happy to see it.
Song Ci gently held Nangong Yingying's chin, turned her back to Mo Zhangkuang, and called out to Nangong Yingying in lip language: "Grandma."
Nangong Yingying saw Song Ci's lip language clearly, and she pursed her lips and almost cried. But Nangong Yingying was very patient and she quickly held back her tears.
