Chapter 373: The clothes you take off can be picked up piece by piece, but the dignity you crush cannot be

Vivien stopped talking.

After a while, Feiwen raised her head and gave Cheng Yanmo a somewhat forced smile.

When Cheng Yanmo saw Vivien's slightly red eyes, he subconsciously wanted to reach out and touch them. But when he was halfway there, he realized that he had overstepped his bounds.

He pulled his hand back.

Vivien picked up the wine and took a sip. She didn't know if it was because the alcohol content was too high or she was feeling too upset, but in any case, her mind was a little confused.

Feiwen put down her wine glass and winked at Cheng Yanmo. She said mysteriously, "Boss, I want to show you something."

Cheng Yanmo frowned, "What?"

Vivien suddenly pulled open her shirt from her chest.

The shirt had a shallow V-neck, and she pulled it down hard, revealing her bra and skin.

It was only eight o'clock, and there were few people in the bar. There was no one else on the open-air balcony except the two of them. Therefore, no one else would notice this scene.

Cheng Yanmo saw Feiwen's actions and began to feel angry, but when he saw the surgical scar on Feiwen's chest, his eyes suddenly froze. "This is..."

Fei Wen told Cheng Yanmo: "In order to lose weight, I had half of my stomach removed."

Cheng Yanmo subconsciously clenched his wine glass.

"I worked out like crazy, working out like crazy. When I was 20, I finally lost weight. When my mother was dying, she stared at me, completely transformed, grabbed my hand tightly, and asked me why I hadn't had my stomach removed earlier. She thought if I had lost weight earlier, my stepfather would have seen that I was still useful to him and wouldn't have divorced her..."

Vivien sneered, "That day I suddenly hated her, to the extreme. I decided to pull out her oxygen tube. I finally breathed a sigh of relief when I saw her die."

When she recalled that scene, she couldn't help but shed tears.

I don’t know if I’m missing my mother or feeling sorry for myself who wasn’t loved by my mother.

To hide his feeling of helplessness, Cheng Yanmo picked up the glass and pretended to drink. The spicy wine spread in Cheng Yanmo's mouth, and he immediately realized that drinking was bad for his stomach, so he quickly snatched the glass from Feiwen.

"Don't drink at social events anymore," he said. Then, feeling it wasn't enough, he added, "Don't go out with me at social events anymore."

Vivien laughed.

Cheng Yanmo was annoyed to see that she was still able to laugh. "Don't laugh." She didn't even realize how uncomfortable her smile was.

"You are the only one who cared about me." Vivien said without thinking.

Cheng Yanmo was stunned.

He cares about her?

He thought about it carefully, but couldn't remember whether he had ever cared about Vivien before.

Vivien transferred to Shangying International School during high school. Strictly speaking, she and Cheng Yanmo were classmates for only half a year before she returned to Shanghai because of her parents' divorce.

Feiwen had always been bullied, so if someone suddenly showed her a little kindness, Feiwen would remember it for the rest of her life. But Cheng Yanmo's life was going smoothly, and Feiwen was just a passing guest in his youth while he was studying.

Feiwen looked at Cheng Yanmo with tears in her eyes. She said, "You must not know that you were the first person to pick up the dirty school uniform they stepped on and put it on me silently. I will always remember what you said to me."

Cheng Yanmo no longer remembered. He asked, "What did I say?"

"You said that it doesn't matter if your clothes are taken off, you can just put them on again one by one, but once your dignity is trampled upon, you can never pick it up again." Today, Vivien has successfully picked up every piece of clothing that was taken off of her and has become the number one female general of the East Sichuan Group.

No one dared to take off her clothes anymore!

Cheng Yanmo sneered, "Don't think so highly of me."

Cheng Yanmo felt that Vivien had glamorized him, and he told her frankly, "I've heard a long time ago that there's a fat girl from China in our school who's always being bullied. When I saw you being bullied, I never had any desire to protect you or seek justice for you. What I hate most is that you're being bullied but you look like you've accepted your fate."

"The reason I said that is because I hope you can live like a human being, not like a bullied turtle. If I were really a good person, I would protect you and not let you be bullied."

"So." Cheng Yanmo slowly swallowed the tasteless wine in his mouth and told Feiwen, "Please don't think too highly of me."

Fei Wen listened carefully to Cheng Yanmo's words and nodded in understanding. "I know, I know you are not a kind person, and I don't love or respect you as a good person."

Vivien looked at him, but her eyes were blurred with tears again. She smiled and said with tears in her eyes, "I just can't forget the first man who picked up clothes for me."
