Jiang Zhen thought of the birthday cake that was destroyed by his brother and sister. His nose suddenly felt sore and he couldn't help wiping away tears.
"Brother, I will never ruin the cake that mom made for us again." Jiang Bi now misses that cake and the person who made it for them very much.
Jiang Zhen finally cried. He said with tears in his eyes, "We will never be able to eat the cake made by our mother again. Jiang Bi, we can't go home. We can't go back." They have been far away from their hometown and they will never see their parents again.
When Jiang Bi heard what her brother said, she was stunned for a moment, and then burst into tears.
Jiang Bi's crying startled the people outside.
The pigpen door was pushed open, and a fat woman came in carrying an iron basin. The basin contained two bowls of water, two corns, and steamed buns.
The woman stood outside the pigpen, looking at Jiang Zhen and his sister with a sarcastic look, and asked, "Are you hungry? As long as you are obedient and do what I say, I will give you food."
Jiang Zhen frowned and looked at the woman without saying a word.
Jiang Bi started crying and said, "I want my mother!"
The woman slammed the basin against the pigpen fence, making a clanging sound that frightened Jiang Bi so much that she quickly stopped crying. "Don't ever say 'Mom' again! You're orphans now. Your parents died a long time ago! You don't have a mother!"
Jiang Zhen clenched his fists tightly and glared at the woman with hatred, wishing he could eat her alive!
"Are you hungry?" the woman asked in a rough voice.
Jiang Bi looked at the corn in the pot and her stomach growled. She swallowed subconsciously.
Seeing Jiang Bi's little action, the woman was very satisfied. "Little girl, if you call me auntie and follow me obediently, I will give you food, water, take you to take a bath, and dress you in beautiful clothes..."
Hearing this, Jiang Bi subconsciously took a step towards the woman, but Jiang Zhen hugged her waist in time.
"Don't go!" Jiang Zhen dragged Jiang Bi back and glared at her fiercely, "Jiang Bi, you are not allowed to eat her food!"
Jiang Bi was scolded by her brother, feeling wronged and scared. She pursed her lips, turned her head away stubbornly, and dared not look at the food bowl in her aunt's hand again.
Jiang Zhen looked at the woman coldly and said, "Take your things away. We won't eat your food, and you can't expect us to call you auntie."
"You don't know what's good for you!" The woman turned and left.
The pigpen door was closed again and was not opened until dark.
At night, Jiang Bi was so hungry that she kept groaning.
Jiang Zhen was also feeling uncomfortable, as he was so hungry that his stomach was burning. Hearing Jiang Bi's groaning, Jiang Zhen worriedly held her in his arms.
As soon as Jiang Bi got close to him, Jiang Zhen was frightened by her hot body. "Jiang Bi!" Jiang Bi's eyes were dull and she was mumbling incoherently. She didn't respond when Jiang Zhen called her name.
Jiang Zhen quickly touched Jiang Bi's forehead, neck and palms, which felt hot.
She is going to die!
Jiang Zhen realized that his sister needed to eat, so he quickly climbed out of the pigpen, stood behind the door, and banged on it, shouting, "Help! Help! My sister is sick! Help!"
"Is anyone here? My sister has a fever!"
Jiang Zhen knocked on the door for a long time before the fat woman came to open the door cursing.
When Jiang Zhen saw the woman come in, he knelt down, grabbed her wrists with both hands, and begged her in a hoarse voice: "Please, give my sister some water and food. She is almost starving to death."
Jiang Zhen himself had long been starving and dehydrated, his spirits were completely drained, and he was about to give up. "Don't you want your sister to die?" the woman asked maliciously.
"No, please, save her!"
"Sure." The woman looked at Jiang Bi, whose face was blushing. She deliberately made things difficult for Jiang Zhen and said, "If you do as I say, I will save her."
"I listen to you, I listen to you!"
"It would be great if this happened earlier!"
The woman carried Jiang Bi back to the house and fed her plenty of water and porridge. Jiang Zhen also got water and porridge, and he sat in a small corner and wolfed them down.
As dawn approached, Jiang Bi's fever had subsided considerably, but she was still in a bad mood. The woman had breakfast, brought two sets of clean clothes for Jiang Bi to change into, and asked Jiang Zhen to take a shower and change into clean clothes.
After changing clothes, the brother and sister were taken out of the remote village by the woman and took a minibus into the city. After getting on the bus, Jiang Zhen wanted to ask for help, but he found that the passengers spoke a completely different language!
Jiang Zhen was desperate!
Without a language barrier, he had no way of asking for help!
The woman took the siblings on a day's journey, and when it was almost dark, she brought them to a rather spacious small bungalow. Jiang Bi and Jiang Zhen were locked in a room, and Jiang Zhen saw the woman counting money through the crack in the door.
Jiang Zhen knew that they were sold by a woman to another couple as their sons.
Jiang Zhen realized that he could never return to the Jiang family and that they would never see their parents again. He wanted to cry, but when he saw Jiang Bi, who was drowsy on the bed, he could only secretly hold back his tears.
He is the older brother, he can't cry.
After the woman left, a middle-aged couple came in and spoke to them. Jiang Zhen listened to their words, seemingly understanding them but without any reaction.
After that day, Jiang Zhen and Jiang Bi were locked up by the couple for half a year. Gradually, Jiang Zhen was able to understand their language and knew that the family's surname was Tr?n, which means Chen.
Mr. Chen was a fruit vendor. He and his wife ran a fruit business in the county town, and their family was relatively well off. However, they were both infertile, so they took a radical approach and bought two children from a human trafficker.
