Chapter 72: The Hand of the Hero

Song Ci couldn't fall asleep. She turned sideways to face Han Zhan, and rubbed her fingers around Han Zhan's beautiful eyes. Han Zhan kept his eyes open and did not stop her little movements.

Finally mustering up the courage, Song Ci asked Han Zhan: "Brother Han, how did you lose your finger?"

Han Zhan suddenly looked at her with a complicated look.

"Can't you tell me?" Song Ci asked.

Han Zhan shook his head and gave a general account: "When I was rescuing someone, I was crushed by a cement slab. I was pressed for too long and my finger became necrotic and had to be amputated." But he didn't say under what circumstances or who he rescued.

Song Ci felt a pang of pain after hearing this. She had always assumed Han Zhan's finger was cut off by the enemy, but she hadn't expected it to be while saving someone. She didn't ask any further questions; just knowing the general idea was enough.

Holding Han Zhan's right hand and placing it in front of her eyes, Song Ci took a look and suddenly said, "It's not very pretty, but I'm not afraid. Brother Han, don't hide it in front of me in the future. This is a hero's hand. Covering it is denying your glory and faith."

She knew in her heart that even though Han Zhan had retired from the army and started a business long ago, the things in his bones could not be changed.

For Han Zhan, fighting for the country is an honor, and peace and prosperity for the country and the people is a belief.

When Han Zhan heard that, his chest shook violently, and a tingling sensation spread throughout his body. This was the first time a woman had praised his ugly hands as the hands of a hero. There was a reason why Song porcelain was so attractive to him.

It was getting late, and Han Zhan still had to work tomorrow. Song Ci couldn't disturb him any more, so she said, "I'm going to sleep."

Han Zhan hummed, "You sleep, I'll watch."

"Nice." Song Ci said, but the corners of her mouth curled up and she really closed her eyes. And that scorching gaze lingered on her for a long time, and finally disappeared because of sleepiness.

--

When Song Ci woke up early in the morning, she still felt unwell. She knew it was normal and she would probably be better tomorrow. She sat at the head of the bed for a while and found two pieces of paper on the bedside table.

Song Ci took it and looked at it. One was the one she gave to Han Zhan last night, and the other was the one Han Zhan made for her, specifically to record her likes and dislikes. Song Ci put down her own paper and picked up Han Zhan's answer sheet and read it carefully. Han Zhan wrote -

Favorite food: Meat, stinky tofu, coriander...

Disliked foods: vegetables, chicken, Japanese food.

Hobbies: shooting, horse riding, racing, bamboo weaving, holding hands with Song Ci, kissing Song Ci, doing everything with Song Ci.

Things I hate: Wasting food, and Song Ci being too close to other people.

Putting down the A4 paper, Song Ci fell into deep thought. Hate her for being too close to other people?

I didn't realize that Brother Han is such a jealous guy.

Song Ci didn't plan to go out this morning, so she didn't change into her pajamas or put on makeup. She looked good without makeup anyway, and Han Zhan had seen it before. Song Ci picked up her piece of paper, wandered into the study in her pajamas, and found a pen to carefully write down her preferences.

Favorite food: spicy crayfish, fried bamboo shoots with bacon, beef brisket with tomatoes, medium-rare steak, and durian.

Dislikes: Cilantro, all scaleless fish

Hobbies: violin, flying airplanes, collecting high heels.

Dislikes: Domestic violence, cheating...

Song Ci filled out the form and went downstairs to find that Han Zhan had left, but she was keeping her breakfast warm in the kitchen steamer. Song Ci ate breakfast while reading today's hot news. Before she finished her meal, she received a call from Du Tingting.

"Song Song, please try to persuade Qiu Tianer. She's clamoring to be discharged, saying she doesn't want to waste time in the hospital. But in her current physical condition, how can she be discharged?"

How to persuade?

"Mother, Qiu Tianer is an adult, you should respect her. She told me about this yesterday, and I tried to persuade her, but I think Qiu Tianer has made up her mind, and it's no use trying to persuade her." Song Ci licked the soup from the dumplings on his fingers, and only after licking it did he feel that he was a bit cowardly.

How could the first lady lick her fingers? She quickly took out a tissue and wiped her fingers clean.

Du Tingting sighed on the other end, "So what you're saying is that we should just follow Qiu Tian'er's wishes?"

"Mom, Qiu Er is also very unhappy living in the hospital. Why not let her do what she wants to do?"

Song Ci had never understood Mu Qiu. From their recent interactions, he didn't seem like the type to trade their sisters' lives for his own. But in a previous life, Mu Qiu had personally placed his hand on Song Ci's chest and demanded her heart.

Song Ci was a little curious about what Mu Qiu wanted to do when he suddenly asked to be discharged from the hospital.

Du Tingting finally allowed Mu Qiu to be discharged from the hospital.

Mu Qiu was discharged from the hospital on the same day. She put on some light makeup that made her look very energetic, applied pink blush, and changed into a vibrant yellow dress.

As she left the hospital, Mu Qiu opened her arms and took a deep breath of the hot air. A long-lost smile of joy finally appeared on her face. She opened her phone's notes, looked at her bucket list, and smiled again. She planned to live her final days to the fullest.

Du Tingting looked at her daughter's overly slender body, and her heart ached.

--

After breakfast, Song Ci, who was still feeling unwell, lay on the sofa and played with her mobile phone. She searched online to see if there was any way to solve the discomfort after her first sexual experience.

Perfect answer: [Change to a frail husband, and solve the problem once and for all.]

The spam browser was unreliable. She had finally managed to trick Han into giving it to her, so how could she bear to change it? She would never change it in her lifetime!

Song Ci exited the browser and sent another WeChat message to Yan Jiang. [Ah Jiang, help me pick out a violin. If you have time, please send it to my house.]
