The battle between the Grain Rain Starfield and the Summer Solstice Starfield has been at a stalemate, with humans and Void Beasts constantly joining the battlefield, stretching the battle lines longer and longer.
The inhabitants of the two star systems are undergoing a large-scale migration.
When Li Ze arrived at the jump point, he happened to see the residents bringing their families and pouring into Star Harbor.
"Li Ze?"
Suddenly a voice spoke.
Li Ze turned his head, wondering who was calling him.
"It really is Li Ze!" the boy exclaimed excitedly. "It really is you, Li Ze! What are you doing here? It's dangerous here!"
"Thanks for reminding me, I understand," Li Ze said.
"Xiao Liu, who are you talking to? We should go." A woman called out from not far away.
"Mom, you go first, I'll catch up in a bit," Xiao Liu said.
"Could you help me look after my younger siblings? Your sister has a fever, and I'm going to buy some medicine and some food too. Things on the starship are too expensive; we'd better prepare our own food," the woman said.
It was only then that Li Ze noticed the boy's clothes, the woman not far away, and his younger siblings.
Judging from their clothing, it's easy to see that this family's economic situation is not good; it can be described as very poor.
A hint of embarrassment appeared on the face of the boy named Xiao Liu, and his face turned slightly red. He called out to his mother, "I'll be there soon."
Then, he said to Li Ze, "It's too dangerous here. You must not go to the battlefield alone."
Before Li Ze could say anything, the boy ran towards his younger siblings.
Why?
Li Ze was puzzled. Why would someone he had never met before come to care about him?
Li Ze did not doubt the boy's good intentions; he could still tell whether someone was sincere or not.
Li Ze watched as the boy picked up his feverish sister and gently comforted her in his arms; then he looked at the boy and girl beside the boy's legs, both of them looking pale, with pointed little faces and big eyes.
Are there still people in the empire who don't have enough to eat?
Before he knew it, Li Ze had come to the boy's side. "I have medicine here."
Before the boy could speak, Li Ze took out several boxes of fever reducers from his spatial storage and handed them to the boy, saying, "Give these to your sister."
The boy was taken aback, then said somewhat awkwardly, "No need for you, my mother has already gone to buy it."
"Brother, Mom has already gone to several pharmacies, but she couldn't find any medicine. Now the pharmacies are out of medicine." The little girl beside the boy looked up, her big eyes fixed on her brother. "Brother, I need fever reducer."
The boy's face flushed, and he stammered, "Well, thank you then."
"You're welcome," Li Ze said, handing the medicine to the little girl. "Can you read the words on it?"
“I recognize it.” The little girl immediately checked the instructions for use and dosage.
Then, the little girl skillfully fed her younger sister the medicine, clearly something she was used to doing.
Li Ze watched the whole thing with a detached expression, showing neither sympathy nor pity.
"The doctor said my sister was frightened by the sound of gunfire, and she'll be fine once her fever goes down," the boy explained, assuming Li Ze was worried about his sister.
Li Ze hummed in response. Then, as if he had thought of something, he took off the chain from his wrist that was covered with spatial buttons, opened the chain, took out a spatial button, and handed it to the boy.
The boy, holding his younger sister, stood frozen in place, hesitatingly asking, "Give her to me?"
"Yes, here you go. It's full of clothes, food, and medicine." These were miscellaneous items he had scavenged from the spatial storage of Els and the others. They were useless to him, but they could help the boy.
Li Ze didn't consider himself a warm-hearted person, but perhaps it was the boy's two sincere words of advice that stirred a little bit of compassion in him.
When he was born, life was very difficult.
"This is too valuable," the boy said, waving his hands repeatedly.
"Keep it. It's the least valuable one among all my spatial buttons," Li Ze said calmly, not boasting, but simply stating a fact.
The boy was stunned, his eyes reddening. "Thank you so much."
Li Ze didn't say anything, and the next second, he had disappeared.
The boy was stunned again when he saw this scene; the speed was incredible.
"Brother, is this spatial distortion?" the little girl asked.
"Yes," the boy replied.
"Is there food inside, brother?" The little boy swallowed hard, his eyes filled with hope.
"Let me see." The boy's mental strength was barely enough to open the mecha.
The next second, the boy and the girl were presented with a variety of food, including dried meat, braised meat, bread, and fruit.
"Brother, can we eat this?" The boy and girl swallowed hard.
The boy swallowed hard. "Okay."
"Little Six, did your sister cry?" The woman returned looking dejected, her hands empty, clearly having bought nothing.
"Mom, my sister took the fever reducer, and her temperature has gone down," the boy said with a smile, revealing a small dimple on his cheek.
"Did your little sister take her medicine? Where did she get it?" The woman walked over quickly, touched her little daughter's forehead, and sure enough, the fever had subsided.
"It was given to us by a handsome older brother. He not only gave us fever-reducing medicine, but also food." The little girl showed the woman the food in her hand.
The woman then noticed the food in front of her child. Just one glance was enough for her to swallow hard. "Which big brother is this? Little Six, do you know him?"
"I know him. He's Li Ze, the one I often mention to you. Li Ze is the kindest person." The boy's face lit up with joy and pride when he mentioned Li Ze.
He definitely didn't fall for the wrong person.
The woman was taken aback and asked in surprise, "You saw him?"
Li Ze had also heard about it; it was mentioned in casual conversations at her workplace.
How could someone so noble and powerful happen to help their own family?
The woman still felt as if she were dreaming.
"Mom, he gave me this." The boy showed the space button in his hand.
The woman was startled again. "This, this is far too generous!"
“Li Ze donates 20 billion to the empire at the drop of a hat, of course he’s generous,” the boy said matter-of-factly.
The woman was so shocked she couldn't speak. Donating 20 billion to the empire was different from giving her own family a spatial button. The former had nothing to do with them, but the latter made them the beneficiaries!
Thinking of the many misfortunes that had befallen the boy named Li Ze, the woman said, "From now on, I will pray for him every day, asking God to grant him a lifetime of peace and joy."
“Mom, I’ll go with you,” the boy said.
"Mom, let's do it together too!" the little boy and girl said in unison.
After leaving the starport, Li Ze did not go directly to the battlefield. Instead, he piloted his mecha around various cities, absorbing and refining the evil energy, transforming it into demonic energy.
After a thin layer of demonic energy accumulated in the empty demon core, he piloted his mecha towards the battlefield.
