Chapter 154 Extra 2
Zhao Xiheng thought that someone like him would be fine once the novelty wore off, but she didn't expect him to be so interested for so long. It was like how he especially loved the terrible grilled cold noodles sold at the school gate, and he would buy a serving every day after class until the owner went out of business and closed down.
Wei Li had always assumed that the plainclothes police officers had completed their mission and returned to their unit, and she felt quite reluctant to see them go.
In the last semester of senior year, the summer heat was intense, cicadas chirped incessantly, and the air conditioning in the library was practically useless. The study rooms were packed with people, hot and crowded, and everyone felt like one of those poorly made soup dumplings about to be cooked, leaking soup, covered in sticky sweat.
In this kind of environment, people tend to be short-tempered; if you accidentally bump elbows into someone, they'll glare at you.
Zhao Xiheng remained seated in the same spot, engrossed in her studies.
Wei Li sat beside her, blocking the sunlight from the window. His forehead was covered in sweat, and his pale skin was flushed with an unnatural redness. He folded a piece of paper into a fan and fanned her.
Everyone was used to this kind of scene.
Wei Li chased after Zhao Xiheng for a year but still didn't get a promotion. Zhao Xiheng just ignored him, showing no reaction whatsoever. It was quite strange that he wasn't angry.
It's no wonder that no one could sense anything between them, since there wasn't a single trace of intimacy between them, which hardly seemed like puppy love.
Besides, when Wei Li was called to the grade director's office, he shouted defiantly, "He wants to have a relationship early!" But Zhao Xiheng only had her studies on her mind and ignored him.
The head of the grade looked at the magnificent library with a complicated expression. He didn't talk to Zhao Xiheng's parents for the time being. After observing for a while, seeing that Zhao Xiheng's grades hadn't dropped and Wei Li's monthly exam ranking had moved up fifty places, he simply turned a blind eye.
Wei Li's father attributed the incident to the blessings of his ancestors, since he couldn't find any other reason to make the little brat turn over a new leaf.
Originally, Wei Li planned to start a relationship early, hoping to have a little brat to drive his old man crazy. But now, how could he dare tell his family? Zhao Xiheng would kill him if she didn't. He's even afraid of upsetting her if he secretly holds her hand.
Wei Li forgot his protective suit again. His medium-length hair hung down on his forehead, sticky with sweat, making him uncomfortable.
Zhao Xiheng glanced at him and thought, "Idiot."
She ripped off the spare leather wristband from her wrist, threw it to him, and shared half of the watermelon juice she had squeezed with him.
She never imagined that one day she would always carry such a thing on her wrist, especially one specifically for a boy.
Wei Li smiled, tied her hair up, and then nudged her quietly, "Want to eat cold noodles for lunch?"
Zhao Xiheng wrote down a formula on a piece of paper, pretending to be unmoved, and waited for Wei Li to reveal the conditions.
He continued poking, "I'll give you the spicy cabbage, ham sausage, braised beef, and tomato from the cold noodles."
On such a hot day, a bowl of icy cold noodles is just what you need.
Yay!
Zhao Xiheng revealed a smug smile, "I'll share half of the noodles with you."
Pshaw, it's only because she couldn't finish the whole bowl herself that she had to share it.
Wei Li muttered to himself, he had been tricked again. She clearly wanted to eat cold noodles, but she was just craving the braised beef in his bowl.
The reason the two of them have managed to get along for so long without breaking up is largely because they can cook together.
The cold noodles at the Korean restaurant near the school were served in a full bowl, with crushed ice in them. Wei Li picked all the ice out of her bowl and said, "You eat first."
He ate the rest.
"Where are you planning to go to university?" Zhao Xiheng asked him casually.
"I'll go wherever you go, anyway, I don't have many options." Zhao Xiheng had dragged him along for a year, and this was the best he could do. But if he went through the sports specialty program, he could go to any school.
If Zhao Xiheng dumps him, he'll be out of luck.
She bit her chopsticks and remained silent.
Wei Li exclaimed, "You're not thinking about how to get rid of me, are you? No way, no way, is there really someone so heartless? I saved all the good food in my bowl for you."
He was shouting so loudly that Zhao Xiheng looked around. Luckily, no one was watching them. She glared at him and said, "Shut up! When did I say I was going to dump you?"
Can't you die from not talking all day?
Whether Zhao Xiheng was happy or not after receiving the admission notice, he didn't know, but he was certainly quite happy.
The two of them went to schools that were close to each other.
He looked at Zhao Xiheng with a smug expression, as if she couldn't shake him off.
Zhao Xiheng thought this man was like a fool. If she really wanted to leave him, she had plenty of ways to do so, but she would let him be smug for a while.
Wei Li rented a house near the school.
Zhao Xiheng's school is good, but it's inconvenient to take showers. There are no private bathrooms; the bathrooms are at the end of the floor.
What bad intentions could he possibly have? He just wanted her to be more comfortable.
Zhao Xiheng initially shook her head, so he patiently explained the situation to her.
He counted on his fingers and said to her, "Look, we're both in college now. This isn't puppy love; it's normal dating. Living together is great; it'll help us connect emotionally. I'll cook for you. Cohabitation before marriage helps reduce the divorce rate."
"Hmm." Zhao Xiheng spat out a mouthful of sunflower seed shells, remaining motionless without even lifting her eyelids.
Shameless! Who would want to marry him?
"That house is great, spacious and bright, it won't interfere with your studies or anything." He became even more anxious when he saw that she was unmoved.
"Oh." Zhao Xiheng watched him anxious with great interest.
"Two bedrooms, and I don't sleep with you. Don't you trust my character? In a year, haven't I even touched your hand?" Wei Li was so anxious that he scratched his head. He was so good to her. If she said no, would he force her?
Wei Li is easily teased, and Zhao Xiheng felt that if she kept teasing him, he probably wouldn't be able to eat dinner tonight, so she clapped her hands and nodded, "Okay, then you cook dinner tonight."
At first, I was prejudiced against him, thinking he was unreliable, playful, and wouldn't last long. But after a year, I've found that Wei Li is a good person, very respectful, and seems quite resilient. Her father must really like him.
Of course, she should pray that her father doesn't find out that the two of them are living together, otherwise things could easily go wrong.
At 11 p.m., Zhao Xiheng glanced at her phone. Knowing Wei Li's nature, although he would eventually obediently do nothing, he would definitely struggle a bit during the process.

"Creak~" The door was gently pushed open, and a pink head peeked in from the outside.
"Are you asleep?" he asked quietly.
Ignoring whether Zhao Xiheng would reply, he said to himself, "I can't sleep in this new place, let's talk?"
He came in, closed the door, and was holding a pillow in his arms.
Zhao Xiheng didn't care to pay him any attention.
He took it as consent, placed the pillow on her bed, carefully moved up to her, covered himself with the blanket, and placed his hands on her lower abdomen, looking incredibly obedient.
"Say something." He turned over and tugged at Zhao Xiheng's hair.
"I won't tell you. You can sleep if you want, or get out if you don't." Letting him bring his luggage in was already the biggest concession she could make.
Well, although he usually has a lot of fallacies, she felt there was some truth to the statement that cohabitation before marriage reduces the divorce rate.
Wei Li bit her lip and remained silent.
He tossed and turned, his heart aching; the night always seemed to stir the softest emotions in people's hearts.
"Say what you want to say, I'm listening." Zhao Xiheng couldn't sleep because of his tossing and turning, so she simply turned to face him.
Wei Li lowered her eyes and shook her head. "It's nothing, you go to sleep."
He looks so wronged, how could he be alright?
"Go ahead and say it, I'm listening." She couldn't help but soften her voice.
Wei Li didn't dare to hold her hand, but instead took a strand of her hair and twirled it between his fingers. He was silent for a while, then suddenly asked, "Zhao Xiheng, I'm asking you seriously, what do you want me to like? I've already tried so hard."
He felt that he was always the one giving, and she would occasionally respond, but these responses were vague and elusive, leaving him unable to grasp or understand them, and always feeling like they were fake.
Zhao Xiheng didn't like him from the beginning, and she only stayed with him because she was annoyed by his constant pestering.
Even though she has agreed to live with him now, Wei Li doesn't seem to feel any love from her. This feeling of uncertainty makes him very anxious.
"If you ever don't want to be with me anymore, just tell me. I won't bother you anymore. It's no fun like this." He rubbed against the pillow, not daring to look at her.
He didn't want to be someone who was dispensable in Zhao Xiheng's heart.
Wei Li found the thing about liking someone really strange. He had initially just been attracted to her because she was pretty, but she was so nice, everything about her was great, except she wouldn't let him hold her hand.
Zhao Xiheng was a little more awake after hearing what he said. She wondered if she had been too reserved, making him feel that she hadn't accepted him yet.
She felt she had made it very clear: she always kept a leather wristband for him; the review questions he did were all compiled by her staying up late at night; she also agreed to live with him; and she tacitly allowed him to climb into her bed in the middle of the night.
She wouldn't pay attention to someone she didn't like.
"Then where do you think I don't like you?" Zhao Xiheng reflected and changed her mind.
"You won't even let me hold your hand..." Wei Li pouted, and Zhao Xiheng could vaguely see something glistening in his eyes.
Crying...crying?
Oh, how pitiful.
He was feeling quite unwell when she suddenly touched the top of his head. Her palm was soft and warm, which made Wei Li pause for a moment.
Zhao Xiheng sighed, then suddenly leaned in and gently kissed his forehead.
"I told you a long time ago not to hold my hand. If you try to hold my hand even a little bit, I won't shake you off. You really shouldn't have listened to me when you should have."
Wei Li's eyes widened, and he slipped his hand inside, grabbing hers tightly. His forehead and palms were slightly sweaty. "Is this okay?"
“Okay.” Zhao Xiheng nodded.
He tried, leaning closer and carefully embracing her. "Is this okay?"
Autumn pajamas aren't thick, and when two people are close together, their body temperatures blend together. This feeling of being intertwined with each other is very warm and comforting.
"Can."
Wei Li's eyes lit up, and he took advantage of the situation. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead, then the tip of her nose, just like she had done. The intimate atmosphere made him breathe heavily, and then he gently bit her lips along the tip of her nose.
Seeing that she didn't resist, he became bolder and tried licking her lips with the tip of his tongue, then slowly going deeper, without asking her if it was okay.
He pressed himself closer to her, rubbing against her with his own body, and his kisses became more and more unrestrained. In the quiet night, the sounds of water and heavy breathing, which made one blush and their heart race, could be clearly heard.
Zhao Xiheng was so weak from his kisses that she almost suffocated. She had no strength to resist and could only endure it. The alarm bells in her mind were beeping, and if he didn't stop, things would get out of control.
It turns out she really liked him too.
Of course, he is someone who knows when to stop and will never cross the line.
People should be brave and willing to try new things.
After the first day, one of the two bedrooms was empty.
They're very well-behaved; they just kiss, touch, and hug, and mostly sleep.
Before the final exams, the dining tables in the cafeteria were cleared out and became places to pile up review materials.
Zhao Xiheng was doing her homework when Wei Li peeled an orange for her.
He's not too busy.
He peeled the orange, removing all the fibers and veins, put it in his mouth, and leaned closer, saying, "Mmm."
Some people always like to play these childish and cheesy little games.
Zhao Xiheng blushed and tried to back away, but he persisted, pulling her close by the waist. He was so good at being affectionate that she couldn't resist his charms, so she could only gently take the orange segment from his mouth.
He took the opportunity to kiss her.
"Ding-dong~" The doorbell rang, and the two reluctantly parted.
Her cheeks were red and her lips were swollen.
Wei Li hurriedly went to open the door; it was probably a delivery.
Pushing open the door, a middle-aged man stood outside, a coat draped over his arm, his posture ramrod straight.
He seemed surprised to see Wei Li.
"Dad... Daddy, Daddy..." Zhao Xiheng's voice trembled with fear.
She wasn't afraid of her father; she was afraid that Wei Li would be beaten to death by him.
Zhao Xinglie narrowed his eyes and scanned Wei Li from head to toe. His swollen lips clearly indicated that he had interrupted something.
A pink-haired bunny? And pierced ears? A tattoo on the back of the neck?
Wei Li's legs went weak and his face turned pale. He almost knelt down, but managed to stand up by holding onto the door frame.
A real man wouldn't be afraid of something so trivial. He's supposed to be meeting the parents anyway, but his current appearance is just...
He blurted out in a panic, "Dad...Dad, good afternoon..."
Zhao Xinglie raised his chin. "I'm not feeling well."
